If you’ve ever had occasion to appear in court, you understand that the essential service an attorney / advocate gives is advice. What to do, what not to do, and what to stop doing.

“if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous…the propitiation for…the sins of the whole world. ” (I John 2:1-2)
There you go. Christian doctrine is that Jesus paid the price of my sin so I’m good to go, right?

Wrong.
Jesus’ death provides the opportunity to judicially transfer his sentence because he was sinless.
This does not grant the “freedom” to keep on sinning.
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk / live daily life not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
For the law / authority, control of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law / authority, control of sin and death…That the righteousness of the law [of God] might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.“
If Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (Romans 8)
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven…depart from me, ye that work iniquity.” (Matthew 7:21-23)
The last-ditch effort to explain exactly what salvation is, and what it looks like expands on the essential dichotomy of self-centered materialism vs God-centered spirituality.
“Love [merge identity] not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” (I John 2:15-16)
If we love one another, God dwelleth in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.” (I John 4:11-13)
- and every one that loveth him that begat – God
- loveth him also that is begotten of him – humanity
- By this we know that we love the children of God [that were scattered abroad]
- when we love God, and keep his commandments.
- For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments:” I John 5:1-3)
“In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
- whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother…
- Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
- We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren.
- He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.
- Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
- Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
- But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him…in deed and in truth.” (I John 4)
The proof that one has indeed become a son of God is the presence of God’s spirit expressing his righteous characteristics through freely chosen actions consistent with God’s values.
“work out your own salvation…For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure…That ye may be…the sons of God, ” (Philippians 2:12-14)
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God…The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God“” (Romans 8:14-16)
Humanity’s only choice is connection to, or intentional separation from, from the source of life.
Is it so hard to understand that the Singularity couldn’t create the opportunity for some individuals to freely choose to identify with / love him, without necessarily including the alternative – to freely reject associating him?
The easiest way we can understand God is to put ourselves in his place. Can you imagine watching your own beloved children suffer at the hands of evil people? What banishment is appropriate for someone who will continue to deceive most of your children into hating you and running away from you in order to betray and trap them into a lifetime of misery and eternity separated from you, while torturing and murdering as many of your faithful children as he can?
The dangerous thing about the chemical reactions in fire is the fact that they are self-perpetuating.
Admittedly, the idea of burning for eternity is absolutely horrible. This is where most people choose to reject the Bible on the basis of “A good God wouldn’t send anyone to hell.” The reality is that a good God doesn’t – he provided a way of escape which every person has the freedom to choose, or not.
“And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.”
Scientifically speaking, “no place for them” means these things no longer exist in space, i.e. no longer have mass. So according to the laws of physics, using Einstein’s Singularity formula of e=mc2 algebraically rewritten as m=e/c2, mass has been converted to nothing but energy, i.e. spirit / c2 the eternal Force of Creation. Or in biblical terms “God is all in all”:
“And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” (I Corinthians 15:28)
“the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him…that ye may know
- what is the hope of his calling,
- and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
- And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe,
- according to the working of his mighty power,Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places
- and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
- Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.” (Ephesians 1:17-23)
