The Firmament

1. In the beginning God created the heaven / heavens and the earth.
   1. The Hebrew word שָׁמַיִם with the Hebrew letter “m” “ם” at the end (reading right to left), equivalent to the English “s”, indicates plurality. However, just like “the waters” can define both a plural or a singular entity like a baptismal font, so “the heavens” can indicate one or more than one spaces above earth.
   2. In all there are at least three heavens: “I knew a man in Christ (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.”
   3. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created. (Genesis 2:1)
2. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: And God called the firmament [another] Heaven.

The Popol Vuh, the only Mesoamerican religious book to escape the Spaniards’ destruction of native culture, preserves a report of this event.

“Over a universe wrapped in the gloom of a dense and primeval night passed the god Hurakan, the mighty wind [spirit]. He called out “earth,” and the solid land appeared….

It is worthy of notice that [this] embodies the general aboriginal idea of creation which prevailed in the New World. In many of them the central idea of creation is supplied by the brooding of a great bird [say, a dove?] over the dark primeval waste of waters.”

According to popular Christian educators, however, This word means simply “expansion.” It denotes the space or expanse like an arch appearing immediately above us. They who rendered raki’a by firmamentum regarded it as a solid body. The language of Scripture is not scientific but popular…

This explanation by Bible Study Tools dictionary is simply appalling, and utterly lacks the knowledge of Physics.

Focus! What just happened?!

“God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was / became formless / wasted and void / empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep.” (Genesis 1:1-2)

Major impact events have significantly shaped Earth’s history…In the early history of the Earth…Such impacts could have included strikes by asteroids hundreds of kilometers in diameter, with explosions so powerful that they vaporized all the Earth’s oceans.

An impact event is commonly seen as a scenario that would bring about the end of civilization. In 2000, Discover Magazine published a list of 20 possible sudden doomsday scenarios with an impact event listed as the most likely to occur…

God’s next action MUST be interpreted in this context. This is just basic 5th grade book reporting on themes driving the story.

The firmament is God’s survival perimeter combat preparedness over the earth.

Job’s account of creation, which gives us much more detail than Genesis, solidifies (that’s a pun) this interpretation of a combat perimeter. The Hebrew noun for firm-ament, raqia רָקִיעַ, comes from the root verb raqa רָקַע which means “to stamp, hammer or beat out, indicating a solid, or at least impenetrable, vault over the earth.

“Has thou with him spread out the sky / heaven, which is strong, and as a molten [metalic] looking glass?” (Job 37:18)

Even modern glass mirrors reflect via a coating of elemental silver.

The account of Samson’s destruction of his enemy – at the price of the destruction of himself and everyone around him – provides a concrete (ha ha) example of the form and function of the firmament as a roof forming a protective barrier from incoming elements that would harm anyone on the ground. 

In arid climates that don’t need protection against snow nor even much against rain, flat roofs provide another story to the house as needed.

“Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice…the house was full of men and women…and there were upon the roof about three thousand men and women…

And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up…And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein.” (Judges 16)

In the context of the hyper dimensional battle going on at this time, one way God could have made an impenetrable wall firmament is by lining up hyperdimensional soldiers to make a defensive shield wall, like the invincible Roman army.

It is reasonable to deduce that the Romans were taught this military strategy by their gods.

• “And there was war in heaven / οὐρανός/ Our-anos, the Greek primordial deity equivalent to the Hebrew Most High God Ani.
• Michael and his angels fought against the dragon…and his angels…” (Revelation 12:7)

“And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the/this heaven to divide the day from the night;” (Genesis 1:14)

We must interpret this statement in the hyperdimensional context of Genesis 1, not recently asserted and never-proven materialism.

“And God [who IS light] made – spun off some of his Singularity into] two great lights;

• the greater light to rule the day 
• and the lesser light to rule the night 
• he made the stars also 

And God set them IN the firmament / shield of the heaven…to divide the light from the darkness:.. (Genesis 1:14-18)

“To rule” requires intellect and executive action by sentient beings in order to exert control, direction, or influence.

“To divide the light from the dark” means the forces of life stand in opposition to the forces of destruction.

When we connect “rule” with “divide light from darkness” we understand that these sentient hyperdimensional energy beings in the combat perimeter surrounding earth are “good” and “evil” beings, what we call good angels vs fallen angels.

“By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens;” (Job 26:13)

From the Online Etymology Dictionary: garnish (v.) to beautify, late 14c., “equip (a place) for defense; arm (oneself) for battle; prepare to defend,”

Consistent with pagan accounts of the gods, the apocryphal Book of Enoch describes the stars as a category of the celestial beings commonly referred to as angels, which have a plethora of material forms, not just humanoid.

“Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host / hosts / tsaba’army, war of them.” (Genesis 2:1)

The Sumerian Enuma Elish validates the biblical account that the biblical firmament was formed with guards in order to block adversaries from space.

Marduk strengthened his hold on the vanquished gods, And turned back to Tiamat [chaotic & formless energy-mass stormy waters] whom he had bound…He split her like a shellfish into two parts: Half of her he sat up as the ceiling of the sky / firmament, He pulled down the bar [locked it closed] and posted guards [against his enemy.]

Modern physics provides understanding of this ancient depiction of a hyperdimensional form.

American-born James Van Allen is called the “Father of Space Science”.

• He received a Ph.D. in Physics in 1939 while studying cosmic rays on earth.
• He pioneered the development of Geiger tube instrumentation for rocket flight to measure high altitude cosmic rays.
• He served on the post-World War II V2-Rocket Panel, using scavenged German V2 rockets to jumpstart American rocket technology.

In 1958 the United States launched its first satellite 1,563 miles high for the express goal of investigating cosmic rays recorded by Van Allen on earth. The radiation far outpaced the levels of radiation that would be expected from cosmic rays alone – a thousand times greater than anyone expected. At first scientists thought they might be recording a Soviet nuclear test.

It wasn’t of earthly origin, and it occupied an area that scientists had considered a void, in two donut-shaped rings encircling the earth.

“The outer belt is made up of billions of high-energy particles that originate from the Sun and become trapped in Earth’s magnetic field, an area known as the magnetosphere. 

Science confidently asserts that the sun is the source of light, but can’t explain the nature of light. “In simple terms, light is one of nature’s freaky exceptions.”

So the purely materialistic model does not preclude the Van Allen Belts’ “ultrafast electrons” from describing the ancients’ pure energy / spirit beings / sons of God.

The inner belt results from interactions of cosmic rays with Earth’s atmosphere.”

One key finding was data showing that the inner edge of the outer belt is an impenetrable barrier.

On the 60th anniversary of Explorer 1 NASA said that studies of the Van Allen belts are “even more important today…becoming even more pressing to understand.

True that.

“For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place 1) to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity...2) and he shall slay the dragon that is in the sea.” (Isaiah 26:20-27:1)
