People turn to religion in times of crisis and instability. The terrorist attacks on September 11 led to an immediate surge in church attendance and Bible sales.

Beliefs have the power to create and the power to destroy…Anthony Robbins

These statements from a highly successful motivational speaker are consistent with biblical truths.

• Empowering beliefs: “And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him, And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy…I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed… And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.” (Matthew 8:5-8,13)
• Self limiting beliefs: “And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, save in his own country, and in his own house. And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.” (Matthew 13:5
• Power of choice: The lie about belief is that it creates your desired destination. The truth about belief is that it will lead us to an existing destination. “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction….For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth [responds] unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.” (Proverbs 1:1-7,29-33)

In the aftermath of nuclear war, the survivors will be desperate for salvation from the devastation to society.

A strong man leader who not only survived but thrived through the holocaust will be The Chosen One, the Savior of the World.

At the dawning of the third millennium in an age characterised by the erosion of faith in human ‘progress’ – symbolised by the apparent failures of science and socialism, the high magic of the Renaissance magus, a learned and visionary figure combining elements of the scientist and the priest, and entranced by the noble prospect of man controlling the cosmos, humanity could realise its highest aspirations to understand and to compel the forces that govern the universe, and to make its nearest approach to divinity.

“the day of Christ…shall not come, except

1. there come a falling away / apostacy first,
2. and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition / permanent destruction…whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders…
3. the mystery of iniquity doth already work.” (II Thessalonians 2:1-9)

You’ve got to love the literary clues.

Paul’s letter couldn’t be any clearer. Massive apostasy, AKA “falling away,” for the purpose of  “falling to” triggers the resurgence of “the fallen ones.”

“And after these things [6th seal extinction event] I [John] saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth.” (Revelation 7:1)

In a similar situation described by Daniel, four winds are spirit beings, established by the clue given that they are “of the heaven” and “being caused to fly swiftly“, and confirmed by the account that two of them are Gabriel and Michael who strive with two of the four evil beasts.

“Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold,

• the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 
• And four great beasts came up from the sea” (Daniel 7)

In contrast, the four angels in Revelation are on earth, party to the extinction event of the 6th seal and therefore members of the adversary’s army.

“And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

The post on Jeshurun details the hidden identity of the northern ten tribes of Israel as Gentiles. Only God knows their heritage.

The biblical report of the blurring of Jewish ancestry into non-Jewish ethnicities has been validated by recent genetic studies showing that contemporary Jews are not a genetically “pure” ethnic group, but are descendants of globally dispersed Diaspora communities.

Jewish family trees have clearly discernible European/Syrian/North African and Middle Eastern branches, while Turkish, Greek, and Italian Jews shared a common branch. The North African populations added a sub-branch which bifurcated into Moroccan, Algerian and Tunisian, Djerban, Libyan sub-branches.

We can extrapolate from this data that many descendants of these dispersed Jews who lost their Jewish identity in the Diaspora are still genetically as “Jewish” as those who maintained their Jewish faith and practice.
