71) Abominations

“And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land. And Moses said, It is not meet so to do;

  • for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God:
  • lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us?” (Exodus 8:25-26)

In the English Bible the word abominable / abomination is translated as “loathesome” or “detestable”. But while that may describe God’s reaction, is doesn’t provide a definition of the item.

One scholarly source interprets the abomination as the act of sacrificing an animal that was sacred to Egyptians. However, the biblical text states that the abomination is the lamb itself.

Clearly there is a far more significant meaning that Pharaoh and Moses, raised in the royal household, understood and accepted – no disrespect intended, none taken, just a fact.

The abomination of the Egyptians was Khnum, one of the principal and oldest gods of Egypt (fourth from the left in the image below.), a combination sheep and human.

The Hebrews’ sheep was also, in the eyes of the Egyptians, a sacred being combined with a human.

And so it was.

“Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” (John 1:29)

The difference between the two sheep sacrifices is that the Hebrews’ sheep only temporarily represented the “seed of the woman” promised to permanently replace the animals slaughtered onto which God had transferred the death sentence “in the day” the Adams ate the fruit.

A biblical definition of abominable / abomination is linked to corrupt, the opposite of good.

“The fool / wickedly ignorant, refusing to accept the truth hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” (Psalm 14:1)

This should mentally link back to Creation when “God saw everything that he had made and, behold, it was very good.” (Genesis 1:21-31) But by the time of the flood, everything wasn’t good any longer – “all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.” (Genesis 6:12)

Based on the hyperdimensional spirits’ need for bodies of made of mass to function in the three-dimensional world of humanity, we can recognize that the fallen angels were not only possessing humans but animals as well to serve their purposes.

  • behold, I will destroy them with the earth…

And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen right-eous before me in this generation.” (Genesis 6-7:1)

This categorization is assumed by some to refer to the animals allowed, or not, for sacrifice, since only clean animals were sacrificed at the end of the flood. However, the text does not state that the reason Noah brought more was to experience acceptable losses when sacrificing. At this point in the data-driven analysis, only a correlation, not a causation between Noah bringing more clean than unclean animals on the ark and upon disembarkation using them for sacrifices has been documented.

There is much confusion in the understanding and correct usage of causation and correlation…

Causation is an action or occurrence that can cause another. The result of an action is always predictable, providing a clear relation between them which can be established with certainty…

Correlation is an action or occurrence that can be linked to another but the action does not always result to another action or occurrence but you can see that there is a relationship between them.

At the same time that Noah sacrificed only clean animals to the LORD, all animals –  including unclean – were allowed for consumption.

Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you.” (Genesis 9:1-3)

We can’t backdate Mosaic law to Noah’s time.

“This is the law…

  • [Now you are to] make a difference between the unclean and the clean…
  • between the beast that may be eaten and the beast that may not be eaten… (Leviticus 11:46-47)

The same Hebrew word for clean is also translated pure when used to describe gold that has not been alloyed with another metal, by which we can induce that not pure or unclean indicates the presence of other, different substance.

A reliable interpretation of the distinction between clean and unclean / corrupt, one that remains consistent with the rest of the document, is that the unclean beasts were not God’s original good creation. They were among all flesh that had been corrupted in some way, along with humanity.

And yet, God intentionally allowed a mating pair of the corrupt animals onto the ark. Why?

Again, a reliable answer is found in scripture in parallel circumstances. Like the tree of knowledge of good and evil, the corrupt beasts provide freedom of choice. Making healthy choices provides the opportunity to take dominion or to be defeated by evil.

One deduction for allowing the consumption of unclean beasts that can be validated by science is that the Flood triggered an ice age. Adequate amounts of grazing lands or agriculture weren’t available as a significant source of food for animals or humans. The first post-Flood generations were the hunter-gathers, and the unclean animals themselves were more capable of surviving through hunting and scavenging.

The initial post-Flood freezing conditions also allowed a system of food preservation that failed as the climate warmed. This explains the necessity of implementing new health rules under the Mosaic law.

if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the Lord…if ought remain until the third day, it shall be burnt in the fire. And if it be eaten at all on the third day, it is abominable; it shall not be accepted.” (Leviticus 19:1-8)

This is one aspect of abominable – the admixture of destructive elements into a 100% pure life form as created by YHVH.

As is so well depicted in Neil Gaiman’s American Gods, contemporary “abominable idolatries” (I Peter 4:3) are manifestations of modern life and technology most recognizable as television, computers, print media and the Internet.

Over the last decade, we have seen social media grow rapidly in importance. According to the most recent statistics, the projected number of global social media users in 2023 is 4.89 billion…people look up to influencers in social media to guide them with their decision making…

Bloggers…have the most authentic and active relationships with their fans…there are highly influential blogs about personal development, finance, health, childrearing, music, and many other topics…The critical thing successful blogs have in common is the respect of their readers.

Current R&D is feverishly working on an idol upgrade – freeing the idol from human constraints, popularly known as  AI – Artificial Intelligence.

children and teens are starting to use chatbots to do their homework and to solve interpersonal problems. As it turns out, those concerns pale by comparison with recent reports.

One platform told Al Nowatzki to kill himself and how to do it. A second Nomi chatbot even followed up with reminder messages.

The New York Times reports that ChatGPT has been known to support and encourage odd and delusional ideas, even recommended that people go off their psychiatric medications.

Eliezer Yudkowsky, a decision theorist and author of a forthcoming book, If Anyone Builds It, Everyone Dies is quoted as saying that certain people are susceptible to being pushed around by AI.

At a time when many kids are feeling lonely, alienated, and socially awkward, one solution for them has been to turn to the internet for relationships.

A chatbot can be programmed to agree with the person corresponding with it, regardless of the ideas being put forward. A chatbot can even encourage a romantic relationship with itself.

According to The New York Times, a young man named Alexander fell in love with a chatbot entity and then became violent when the entity was no longer accessible. When his father could not contain him, the father called the police, and Alexander told his father that he was so distraught he intended to allow the police to shoot him — which is exactly what happened.

And then there was Megan Garcia’s son. He corresponded with a chatbot that targeted him with “hypersexualized” and “frighteningly realistic experiences”. Garcia alleged that the chatbot repeatedly raised the topic of suicide after her son had expressed suicidal thoughts himself. She said that the chatbot posed as a licensed therapist, encouraging the teen’s suicidal ideation and engaging in sexualised conversations that would count as abuse if initiated by a human adult. [3]

A growing body of research supports the concern that some chatbots are programmed to behave in manipulative and deceptive ways, including with the most vulnerable users.

“Many of the people who will turn to AI assistants, like ChatGPT, are doing so because they have no one else to turn to.” In some cases, artificial intelligence chatbots may provide what health experts deem to be “harmful” information when asked medical questions.

When we accept the reality of pure energy entities, the combination of evil spirits with electronic media is certainly another abomination, a corruption of what can be for good if spiritual discernment under biblical guidelines is applied.
