People turn to religion in times of crisis and instability. The terrorist attacks on September 11 led to an immediate surge in church attendance and Bible sales.
How many churches have leaders and believers who are poised to take advantage of such a pending opportunity?”
Unfortunately, not many.
The Sinners prayer is what could be termed a modern method in evangelism. No occurrence of a suggested prayer, and certainly not the Sinners Prayer, appears in the Bible, or even in evangelistic tracts published by the American Tract Society before the summer of 1958.
During a training session at the ministry’s new headquarters “One of our speakers for staff training that summer was a Christian layman who was an outstanding sales consultant, a man who had taught thousands of salesmen how to sell. He compared the witnessing Christian to the secular salesman.
The Sinners prayer indicates an entire shift of focus has taken place. God’s sovereignty was once in the forefront of decision counseling and prayer. The question was once phrased, “Will You accept me?” Now the statement is made, “I will accept You.”
The use of the Sinners prayer does not represent biblical evangelism of repentance from sin. When it comes to a matter as important as one’s salvation, a proper understanding should be explicitly stated – turning from sin to Christ. Most versions of the prayer that some have come to put their trust in do not even express this essential biblical requirement for salvation.
Oftentimes the prayer becomes the object of faith. Persons who have prayed the prayer associate their salvation with the act of repeating the words than with evidence of the Holy Spirit in their life. How many parents ease their worries about their unregenerate adult children and avoid conflict over their sinful lives by assuring themselves that they asked Jesus to save them when they were just old enough to recite the Prayer, when instead they should be exercising their authority to reprimand them in the power of the Holy Spirit?
To assure persons of their salvation based on “once saved, always saved” when they never really got saved from in in the first place is to seal people in deception and prevent real salvation later on.
Simply guiding people to make a decision to accept Christ’s sacrifice for sin on their behalf after death while continuing to choose sin as their lord during this life is a false gospel taught by false prophets.
Whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves…every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit…Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire…Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 7:12-21)
God is looking for more than professions of faith. A genuine conversion is the ultimate goal to a new creation in Christ. In this light, the Sinners prayer as it is most often used has become a more valuable tool in service to the Enemy than it is in service to Christ.
An equally unbiblical error is Christianity coming to believe in the Sinner’s Prayer as a sacrament equal to Catholicisim’s last rites – that without reciting the words they cannot be saved. Calling on the Christian name of “Jesus” is not what saves, but rather faith in YHVH’s Savior regardless of language or culture, in genuine faith in the God of Creation and life.
When after 9/11 churches failed at motivating the vast majority of spiritual explorers to connect with Christ in a more intimate or intense manner, disillusionment with Christianity as presented in church resulted in Christians’

Stay on point as we read through Revelation – the sixth seal of the Holy Spirit’s protection is still being lifted away as his people fall away to false prophets!

This is not a panicked scream of terror. This is a call to war! No-one is able to stand on their own, so “Rally to me! I’ll save you!”
We’ve already seen it once in American politics.

House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi commences the certification process of Joe Biden as the new President.

Shortly afterwards a Capitol police officer calls for backup.
“They’re throwing metal poles at us,” he says. “Multiple law-enforcement injuries,” he adds in a panicked voice.
Capitol police send an evacuation warning.

Minutes later, an officer declares there is a riot at the Capitol.

Secret Service quickly and suddenly evacuate Trump’s ex-Vice President Mike Pence from the Senate floor.
The protesters break through the windows then kick open the doors to let others in. Some wear hoods and helmets, some hold cameras or Confederate flags.
An immediate recess of the Senate is called.
The mob, a floor below them, has already begun to search for the Senate chamber. Many of these individuals have been calling for Mr Pence to be hanged.
By that point, the rioters are “within 100ft” (30m) of Mr Pence and a foot away from one of the doors to the chamber. Many senators are still inside.
Ms Pelosi is rushed from the house [of Representatives] floor. She is evacuated entirely from the Capitol complex to a secure off-site location while rioters are spreading out across the building. The rioters chant: “Where are you Nancy?” One man breaks open the outer door to the office where the staff are hiding, but not the inner door. Another tries as well, but eventually moves on.
