It’s All About Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll

Greek Carnival was an ancient pagan celebration.

Also known as Bacchanal, crazy parties with drunken revelry, sexual experimentation, and wild music dedicated to Bacchus, the Roman name for the Greek god of wine Dionysus, were also celebrated in southern Italy…via the Greek colonies.

The females, “Maenads” (the word comes from the Greek maenades, meaning mad or demented) wild, drunk women, dressed as Ariadne, wife of Dionysus, and his male devotes, satyrs, men with goat-like features, in a permanent state of arousal, gathered together in the woods, for what can only be dubbed as a rave party!

The copious amounts of wine knocked back, trance-inducing music, strange herbs ingested and wild singing and dancing; all produced a state of complete abandon, a total lack of inhibition.

Baby this was the original sex, drugs and rock and roll!

Including sexual assault if anyone resists.

“as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind…no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men…when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries: Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:” (I Peter 4:3-4)

“the persecution of Christians has reached the highest levels since the World Watch List began nearly 30 years ago. “Across 76 countries, more than 360 million Christians suffer high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith…”One in every seven Christians live under at least high levels of persecution or discrimination for their faith.

Being held responsible for one’s own sins rather than being supported in blaming someone else by an ethnic messianic figure is what is so detestable about the name / way of YHVH’s Savior.

Antichrist

• accommodates our sin
• while blaming the consequences of our sin on others
• and promises to eliminate the problems caused by our sin by eliminating others’ ability to limit our self-indulgence
• while trapping us into self-destruction.

Between 1999 and 2017, more than 700,000 Americans died from drug overdoses, and escalating rates of drug addiction have contributed to recent decreases in life expectancy.

Secular society’s solution?

To address this crisis, we must combat the stigma attached to addiction. A large body of research indicates that this stigma is persistent, pervasive, and rooted in the belief that addiction is a personal choice reflecting a lack of willpower and a moral failing. Rates of stigma are extremely high both in the general public and within professions whose members interact with people with addiction, including the health care professions.

At the health system level, public stigma contributes to underinvestment in a high-quality addiction treatment infrastructure and suboptimal care for people with substance use disorders. At the societal level, public stigma can lead to discrimination in insurance benefits, employment, and housing; cause collective not-in-my-backyard resistance to provision of community-based services.

The treatment of people in the throws of every form of self-destructive behavior is now standardized in the medical profession, rather than prevention.

Take obesity. Isn’t this a straight-forward example of over-indulgence?

World Health Organization began sounding the alarm in the 1990s, determining that obesity is predominantly a “social and environmental disease”, WHO is helping to develop strategies that will make healthy choices easier to make.

Centers for Disease Control: Obesity is a national epidemic and a major contributor to some of the leading causes of death in the U.S., including heart disease, stroke, diabetes and some types of cancer. We need to change our communities into places that strongly support healthy eating and active living.

Seriously?

Individuals need to stop their individual unhealthy eating practices.

Ending the HIV epidemic requires fighting stigma.

NPR, February 2019: An issue that makes it hard for young gay and bisexual black men to protect their sexual health is when they were raised in a church that imposed Shame on being gay.

The heart of progressive-liberal values is simple: empathy (caring about and for people) and responsibility (acting responsibly on that empathy). These values translate into a simple principle: Use the common wealth for the common good to better all our lives. In short, promoting the common good is the central role of government.

Apply the liberal agenda just to sexual rights, which takes the position that the common wealth – that would be taxes on working persons demonstrating individual discipline and initiative – should be spent on alleviating the problems caused by “individuals seeking recurring orgasms of physical and emotional sensations” which makes the risk worth it.

• Developing medical  advances in the form of vaccines, treatments, etc. allowing  unrestrained sexual activity so those individuals without individual discipline and initiative to protect themselves don’t have to personally pay for the known consequences of AIDS, now Monkey pox, not to mention herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, genital warts despite widespread knowledge and existing provisions for protection from catching these diseases through use of prophylactic devises and medications. “Only 4 percent of sexually active gay and bisexual men in the United States use Truvada, a highly effective medication used to prevent the transmission of HIV, according to the results of a first-of-its-kind study.” “Correct and consistent condom use is the most effective method to prevent HIV and other STIs among sexually active MSM...condom use among MSM is low“
• Providing taxpayer-funded abortion on demand for those individuals without individual discipline and initiative to use birth control, or the morning after pill, or the abortion pill, or establish an economically stable domestic environment in which to raise a child, or limit sexual activity to a responsible partner, or modify their lifestyle to meet a child’s needs.
• Developing new social infrastructures throughout society to support unrestricted self-identified gender by a minute proportion of individuals. “About 0.7% of adults 18-24 identify as transgender, and 0.5% of adults 65 and older identify as transgender. When it comes to LGBTQ rights, the United States has made significant strides over the years. Several states have protections for transgender people, including employment, public accommodations, housing, credit, and schools.” There is no historical or sociological long-term evidence of the effects of this startling new trend on these individuals or society.

Yesterday, The New Atlantis released a comprehensive “study of studies,” taking a look at the accumulated body of credible scientific research on LGBT issues. The study is by Lawrence Mayer, a scholar-in-residence at Johns Hopkins University, and Paul McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and its findings destroy the narrative.

In spite of the mountain of evidence that those who forsake the allegedly oppressive “Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement”…face far greater challenges…some on Left want to…keep selling their moral vision to the public without any competition…and the resulting physical or emotional harm is either reasonably tolerable or can be alleviated through a combination of government programs and public re-education.

The Judeo-Christian model, by contrast, is aspirational, calling on people not to do what they want, but what they should. The Left’s response is alluring, but it offers a self-indulgent path down which lies cultural ruin. The LGBT Left is driving us there just as fast as it can depress the gas pedal, but thanks to McHugh and Mayer, we now know they most assuredly are not doing so in the name of “science.”

While claiming empathy as a motivation, the liberal agenda is overwhelmingly antisocial towards the vast majority of the population – those who practice ethical behavior. Is it not obvious that centuries-long religion-based morality is being systematically defined as evil through politics?

False gods both capture their victims through sexual promiscuity and drive their victims to engage in sexual promiscuity.

“they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness…While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.” (2 Peter 1-2)

Promiscuous sex is an irreducible part of any attempt at increasing one’s sense of life energy / power apart from the infinite Singularity.

“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened…

• Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves...
• For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
• And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” (Romans 1:18-32)

Roman Sexuality Was About Dominance

Romans did not think in terms of sexual orientation. Rather, sexuality was tied to ideas of masculinity, male domination, and the adoption of the Greek pursuit of beauty. “In the Roman mind, the strong took what they wanted to take. It was socially acceptable for a strong Roman male to have intercourse with men or women alike, provided he was the aggressor. It was looked down upon to play the female ‘receptive’ role in homosexual liaisons.”A real man dominated in the bedroom as he did on the battlefield. He would have sex with his slaves whether they were male or female; he would visit prostitutes; he would have homosexual encounters even while married; he would engage in pederasty (see below); even rape was generally acceptable as long as he only raped people of a lower status. “He was strong, muscular, and hard in both body and spirit. Society looked down on him only when he appeared weak or soft.” So Romans did not think of people as being oriented toward homosexuality or heterosexuality. Rather, they understood that a respectable man would express his dominance by having sex—consensual or forced—with men, women, and even children.

Roman Sexuality Accepted Pedophilia

The pursuit of beauty and the obsession with the masculine ideal led to the widespread practice of pederasty—a sexual relationship between an adult man and an adolescent boy. This had been a common feature of the Greek world and was adapted by the Romans who saw it as a natural expression of male privilege and domination. A Roman man would direct his sexual attention toward a slave boy or, at times, even a freeborn child, and would continue to do so until the boy reached puberty. These relationships were seen as an acceptable and even idealized form of love, the kind of love that expressed itself in poem, story, and song.

In the Roman world “a man’s wife was often seen as beneath him and less than him, but a sexual relationship with another male, boy or man, represented a higher form of intellectual love and engagement. It was a man joining with that which was his equal and who could therefore share experiences and ideas with him in a way he could not with a woman.” Pederasty—pedophilia—was understood to be good and acceptable.

Sexual Promiscuity and Societal Stability

It becomes clear that Rome was a culture of extreme promiscuity and inequality. Those who had power—male citizens—were able to express their sexuality by taking who and what they wanted. Their culture’s brand of sexual morality was exemplified in the Caesars who, one after the other, “were living icons of immorality and cruelty,” using sex as a means of domination andself-gratification.

Yet this system, evil as it looks to our eyes, was accepted and even celebrated by Rome. It was foundational to Roman culture. To be a good Roman citizen a man needed to participate in it, or at least not protest against it. To be loyal to Rome, one had to be loyal to the morality of Rome. To the Romans, the biblical view “would have been seen as disruptive to the social fabric and demeaning of the Roman ideal of masculinity.” What we consider odious and exploitive, they considered necessary and good.

This can be understood through the traumatic experiences of persons who have performed in porn movies, been gang raped  or subjected to orgies for the sadistic pleasure of cruel tyrants. These are all common elements of pagan rituals.
