273) Apostasy Prepares The Way For The Son Of Perdition

the day of Christ…shall not come, except

  1. there come a falling away / apostacy first,
  2. and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition / permanent destructionwhose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders…
  3. the mystery of iniquity doth already work.” (II Thessalonians 2:1-9)

the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up…even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you…Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.” (II Peter 3:3-17)

“Beloved…it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints…Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.” (Jude 3, 24-25)

You’ve got to love the literary clues.

Paul’s letter couldn’t be any clearer. Massive apostasy, AKA “falling away,” for the purpose of falling to” triggers the resurgence of “the fallen ones.”

The man of sin, the son of perdition, the mystery of iniquity, the antichrist.
