“And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see. And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword / weapon.” (Revelation 6:3-4)
In August 2022 Pope Francis stated we are in World War III.
It began on Feb. 22, 2022 — the day Russian President Vladmir Putin invaded Ukraine.
It does not look or feel like Hollywood said it would. Rather, this real-life version of World War III is far more insidious and deceptive.
Putin has placed his economy on a war footing. We have not. The Russian president knows that he has unleashed World War III. Biden seemingly does not.
In his new book, The New Nuclear Age: At the Precipice of Armageddon, leading nuclear security analyst Ankit Panda introduces readers to a new era that began in roughly the mid-2020s.. The war in Ukraine, the largest conventional war in decades and one that nuclear threats have loomed over from the start, was the most vivid illustration yet of the dynamics of this new era. What we saw last week [May 2025] between India and Pakistan as the first South Asian nuclear crisis of this underscores this risk.
Looking at just the Middle East – the focus of Daniel’s prophecies of the end times – as of 2021 almost 1,000,000 people have been killed by direct war violence in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, and Pakistan. The number of people who have been wounded or have fallen ill as a result of the conflicts is far higher. And the U.S. post-9/11 wars have forcibly displaced at least 38 million people in and from Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, the Philippines, Libya, and Syria. This number exceeds the total displaced by every war since 1900, except World War II.
The U.S. invasion of Iraq in 2003 to remove Saddam Hussein from power had the ancillary effect of honing recruitment and training of Islamist militant groups, becoming a massive military backlash against America.
Continuing with Daniel’s prophecy of the end times examined in the preceding two posts from verse 22 through verse 28.
“the prince of the covenant [secular leader of Orthodox Jewry, currently Benjamin Netanyahu]…shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province [Gaza] and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers [since founding of Israel in 1948]; he shall scatter among them [Israelis] the prey [Palestinians] and spoil, and riches [by taking over UN assigned territory]: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
- A week after calling the defeat of Israel’s enemies the “supreme objective” of the war, Netanyahu is turning that rhetoric into action: calling up tens of thousands of reservists to pummel, seize and occupy large swaths of Gaza – what the prime minister calls the “final moves” against Iranian-backed resistance group Hamas in Gaza but what is unabashedly genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian population in Gaza.
- Netanyahu has also broken its cease fire with Iranian-backed Palestinian resistance group Hezbollah in Lebanon, and warned Lebanese residents displaced by fighting not to return to their homes in southern Lebanon.
- Israel continues to occupy and establish illegal settlements across the Golan Heights illegally seized from Syria in the 1967 Six-Day War.
- Since the fall of Bashar al-Assad in December 2024, Israel has carried numerous airstrikes across Syria to expand its occupation. Most recently as of this writing in July 2025 in order to “defend the minority Druze sect in southern Syria, whose community straddles the border with the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights”, Israel launched airstrikes into Syria’s capital of Damascus, hitting the Defense Ministry headquarters and an area near the presidential palace
“AND he [remaining consistent, this must be led by Netanyahu, with Trump’s support] shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south [somewhere in the Horn of Africa such as Egypt, at this time Somalia, which has maintained its position as one of East Africa’s most resilient threats] with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he [Somalian leader] shall not stand: for they [military alliance of US and Israel] shall forecast devices / strategies against him. Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him [in a CIA-engineered coup so common with the US], and his army shall overflow [in the sense of become directionless so worthless as a guided force]: and many shall fall down slain…
And both of these kings’ hearts [alliance of Trump and Netanyahu] shall be to do mischief [to each other, maximize their share of the loot] and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed.
Then shall he [in context, the main character, i.e. the king of the north / 4th Empire, Trump] return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.” (ending at Daniel 11:28)
“At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south;” (Daniel 11:27)
This clearly marks a jump forward in time with the progression of prophetic events.
but it shall not be as
- the former – America’s precipitous withdrawal from Somalia following the reputationally disastrous Black Hawk Down which may have emboldened bin Laden’s plans to concentrate attacks on U.S. targets,
- or as the latter – successful win as detailed above.
- For the ships of Chittim shall come against him:
Chittim, pronounced with a hard “C” as in “Melchizedek” or “Carchemish” so also spelled “Kittim“, is the land settled by and named for one of Japheth’s grandsons. Consisting of islands famous for, logically, its maritime occupations in ships and associations with close relatives in the area, multiple historical records allow us to identify its current location as Cyprus.
This allows us to update Daniel’s ancient prophecy of “the [battle]ships / weapons of Chittim to current weapons wielded by the current political presence on Cyprus since 1974 when a Turkish military invasion took occupation of the northern third of Cyprus. This has such severe international complications involving the guarantor powers split between Western and Eastern nations that it’s been given a name – “The Cyprus problem”.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, along with his government, believe…that “the United States backs common enemies of Turkey and Pakistan and that the time has come to unmask them and act together”. Turkey, unlike Iran, has nuclear weapons – given by both the United States and Russia.
- therefore he [Trump] shall be grieved, and return [not geographically, but in the metaphorical sense of reversal of planned action} and have indignation against the holy covenant;
- he shall even / shockingly! return and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.
- in the sense of a Central Intelligence Agency operation to overthrow a nation’s government and replace with one more favorable to the US, as has been done in Hawaii, Cuba, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Honduras, Iran, Guatemala, South Viet Nam, Chili, Panama, Afghanistan, Iraq
We can expect that Trump, known for changing his mind, will abandon his allies in Israel -specifically Netanyahu, and Netanyahu’s religious base the Orthodox Jews, and even his own Religious Right power base in America to save himself from devastation by “Chittim’s weapons”, previously recorded in scripture.
“Howl, ye ships of Tarshish; for it is laid waste, so that there is no house, no entering in: from the land of Chittim it is revealed to them…The LORD of hosts hath purposed it, to stain the pride of all glory, and to bring into contempt all the honourable of the earth…there is no more strength.” (Isaiah 23)
“And arms shall stand [still] on HIS / Northern king of the 4th empire’s part” (Daniel 11:29-31)
The Hebrew word for stand – amad – has been in use for so long that it keeps its paradoxical definitions. The first impression of arms shall “stand” is that this means arms shall “empower”, like “the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place.“
However, stand is not only a position of readiness to fight, but also a position of stillness in contrast to activity. In the military, this is called a stand down, signifying a temporary cessation of normal operational activities. As of July 2025 THIS HAS HAPPENED to most of America’s beneficiary nations BUT NOT to Israel AS YET.
Once the “ships / overwhelming weapons of Chittim / modern Turkey are pointed in his direction, America’s President military will “stand down” its weapons to Israel, whose reliance on the United States is so great that the country’s very survival is at least partly dependent on it.
So it is yet in the future of July 2025 for this and the following prophecies to come to pass.
“HE shall enter also into the glorious land / Israel” (Daniel 11:41)
“And he shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.” (Daniel 11:45)
“The tabernacles / tents” of this king’s “palace” must be translated from the ancient forms to the contemporary as “foreign soldiers’ housing” and “permanent political housing / embassy” which, while not yet together at Jerusalem “in the glorious holy mountain”, are currently in Israel, so will be addressed here.
The United Nations partition plan drawn up in 1947 envisaged Jerusalem as a separate “international city.” But the war between the Israelis and Palestinians that followed Israel’s declaration of independence one year later left the city divided, until the 1967 Six-Day War when Israel occupied the Palestinian’s section.

In one of the most volatile issues in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, prejudicing the final outcome of any talks, President Trump moved the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in 2018.
The embassy, initial estimated cost of 21.2 million dollars straddles the 1949–67 Armistice line in Jerusalem, located partially in Israeli West Jerusalem and partially in no man’s land.
A senior United Nations official stated: “Under international law it is still occupied territory, because neither party had any right to occupy the area between the lines”. So America took it on behalf of Israel, staking a claim not only to this parcel of ground but symbolically to the entirety of Jerusalem.
Acknowledging Jerusalem as Israel’s capitol denies Palestinian claims and “has crossed a red line.”
Though President Joe Biden and the White House insist that there are no plans to send U.S. troops to Israel amid its war on Hamas, a secret U.S. military presence in Israel already exists. And the government contracts and budget documents show it is evidently growing.
The $35.8 million U.S. troop facility, not publicly announced or previously reported, was obliquely referenced in an August 2 contract announcement by the Pentagon. Though the Defense Department has taken pains to obscure the site’s true nature — describing it in other records merely as a “classified worldwide” project — budget documents reviewed by The Intercept reveal that it is part of Site 512. (The Pentagon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.)
“Sometimes something is treated as an official secret not in the hope that an adversary would never find out about it but rather [because] the U.S. government, for diplomatic or political reasons, does not want to officially acknowledge it,” Paul Pillar, a former chief analyst at the CIA’s counterterrorism center who said he had no specific knowledge of the base, told The Intercept. “In this case, perhaps the base will be used to support operations elsewhere in the Middle East in which any acknowledgment that they were staged from Israel, or involved any cooperation with Israel, would be inconvenient and likely to elicit more negative reactions than the operations otherwise would elicit.”
