Despite their best efforts, Quantum Physics has been unable to unpack the mystery of the Theory of Everything, the Singularity.
What we find when we examine the Bible’s claims with an open mind not clouded by religious bias, is that its thousands’ years old historical documents reliably – amongst themselves – and with validity – educate us on these most esoteric concepts.
“that which may be known of God is manifest…For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead” (Romans 1:19-20)
We are left with ancient revelation of a hyper dimensional Being as the fundamental unified force perceived as sub-forces by humanity’s limited sensory and mental capacities. The God particle, all-pervasive energy whose presence 1) converted hyper dimensional indestructible energy to four dimensional destructible mass 2) and reconverts / resurrects to hyper dimensional indestructible energy, as in e=mc2.
“In the beginning was the Word [the transforming power, the Force (c2), as when an authority figure shouts “Stop!”], and the Word was with [separate from] God, and the Word was [identical to] God [as the Singularity]. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him [the Force, c2]; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life [energy]; and the life was the light [c, speed of light, also the awareness, consciousness] of [hu]men…And the Word was made Flesh (mass)” (John 1:1-14)
Genesis 1:26 [sic] is usually translated as ‘In the beginning God made heaven and earth’.
Not in the most prevalent translation of the orginal Hebrew it isn’t.
“In the beginning God created / bā·rā the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)
I use the King James version of the Bible for the ancient languages scholarship of the translators in the early 17th century. This reflects far more accurately the thoughts and intents of the original writers in contrast to modern translators which intentionally promote meanings familiar and acceptable to a post-modern society.
The reliability of the King James’ translation of bara as “created” can be determined in two ways.
The King James functions as its own dictionary, translating the word bara by using synonyms in other passages. In every case we find the common elements of
-
- a powerful being
- by himself independently of outside forces
- using his energy
- to create something never before experienced.
These can be abstract concepts as well as concrete objects.
-
-
- Behold, I make a covenant…I will do marvels, such as have not been done / bara…in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD” (Exodus 34:8-10)
- creating the nation of Israel.
- “And Moses said…if the LORD make / bara a new thing…then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD….And the earth opened her mouth…and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.” (Numbers 16:28-33)
- creating a new proof of Moses’ supernatural authentication as God’s spokesman.
- “cut down / bara for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants…drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.” (Joshua 17:15-18)
- create a territory by yourself
- “Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belial…and said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast…[or] I will take it by force…[i.e., the priests were taking away the part of the offering / sacrifice / barbecue that the man and his family should have for themselves to eat]…to make / bara yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?” (I Samuel 2:12-17, 4:20-27)
- create abstract wealth in addition to very material fat cells. “he [Eli] was heavy.” (I Samuel 4:18)
- Behold, I make a covenant…I will do marvels, such as have not been done / bara…in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD” (Exodus 34:8-10)
-
We can reliably deduce from these examples of the Hebrew word bara that Genesis chapter 1 is reporting that a hyper dimensional being 1) containing within itself all energy 2) used its energy to form 3) something not previously in existence.
In scientific terminology: The Singularity Inflated, in a series of puffs like blowing up a balloon.
The Bible reports that mind / mental activity / energy came before matter, and that, due to the attributes of the Singularity that formed matter from its invisible self, consciousness is found throughout the universe.
“the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now...waiting for…the redemption.” (Romans 8:22-23)
The Bible reports that matter was created by energy.
-
“…the Spirit of God moved [kinetic energy]…And God said [electromagnetic waves]…And God called…” (Gen 1)
Te Hebrew word for “called” is qara / קָרָא It covers a lot of applications for verbalizing, including bringing into existence a blessing or curse or even a living being. We can therefore understand that when the Hebrew God “calls” something by name, he imposes structure on energy.
A different Hebrew word, asa, is defined in the King James as “made” i.e. “formed from existing material.” Again, this definition is reliably determined by comparison with other statements in the same document.
-
- “And God made / asa the firmament.” (Genesis 1:7)
- “the herb yielding / asa seed, and the fruit tree yielding / asa fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself” (Genesis 1:11)
- “And God made / asa two great lights…and [he made/ asa] the stars also. (Genesis 1:16)
This analysis of the distinction between 1) created by transforming energy and 2) made from existing material is substantiated within the Hebrew creation text. This can be considered the creation of DNA and rerogramming into diverse beings. Just guessing here.
“And God 1) [first] created / bā·rā… every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind…And [afterwards] God 2) made / asa [from existing material] the beast of the earth…and cattle…and every thing that creepeth upon the earth… God created / bara [a completely new thing] man in his own image.” (Genesis 1:21-27)
Significantly, among religious documents, only the Genesis account of creation is written as a narrative, intended to be an historical account of actual events. Other ancient creation accounts are poetry, which may or not be fully realistic.
While the creation accounts in the biblical book of Job and the Psalms are written as poetry, allowing for greater emotional expression, they are not necessarily imaginative in their depictions of creation. As with other religions’ poetic portrayal of creation, validation of the reality of these accounts of creation is found through evidence from other sources, both in Genesis’ compilation of ancient documents and in other religions.
The oldest extant (still in existence) physical record of creation is the Sumerian Enuma Elis[h], preserved on clay tablets that are dated to ~2100 BC.
It is generally agreed by archeologists that the Sumerian culture came into existence about 3500 BC. So, just as with our own history books, we can realistically deduce one of two conditions:
- the historical account written was compiled from older eye witness accounts of the occurrence of the events reported,
- or that they are fabricated to impose a ruling elite’s world view on a subjugated population.
Enuma Elise [The Heavens]
When skies above were not yet named
Nor earth below pronounced by name…
Nor names pronounced, nor destinies decreed,
Then gods were born within them.
Still understood from contemporary casting of magical spells, the ancients knew that naming a thing called it into existence and brought it under the namer’s power. But while the Sumerian account vaguely mentions “naming”, note that it never credits a namer / designer / authority / owner.
Apsu [primeval waters, matter] the first one, their begetter
And maker [mummu, meaning a creative force] Tiamat [chaotic foam, movement, energy] who bore them all,
Had mixed their waters [essence of matter and energy] together…
Abstract thinking is one of the higher order intellectual components assessed during a psychiatric evaluation. When questioned “How did you get to the hospital?”, an individual with intact abstract thought processes will intuitively respond with insight on the focus on health problems and will answer accordingly: “I overdosed, I quit taking my medication,” etc. An individual with lower level concrete thinking will answer in terms limited only to physical experience: “The ambulance, my wife drove me,” etc.
With this in mind, if we replace our basic concrete thinking, in this case, of Apsu as an immense mass of water with the equally valid but higher order abstract concept of combined immensely huge mass + immensely energetic movement of a raging ocean, we can recognize the reference to the Singularity.
Likewise, if we equate the Enuma Elish’s Tiamat / chaos with the activity of random chance collisions of atoms, molecules, proteins and DNA mutations, we can recognize the parallel with Evolution opposed to Design.
Then were created the gods in the midst of heaven,
Lahmu and Lahamu [mud and slime, undifferentiated mass] were called into being…
And sure enough, consistent with Evolution, extended periods of time are included in the Enuma Elish’s account.
Ages increased…Anshar (and) Kishar were born, surpassing them.
An = heaven, ki = earth, shar = horizon. An-shar and Ki-shar are the collective material objects found above and below the horizon, in heaven and in earth. They surpass basic mud and slime with their greater complexity, like a shaped, painted, glazed and fired pot surpasses the pile of potters clay from which it was formed, or fully grown plants surpass the dirt, water and sunshine from which they draw their substance.
As detailed in the post Uniformitarianism or Catastrophism, the definition of time is deterioration, which cannot result in greater complexity. A force stronger than chaos must impose order and stability. And yet, as the account continues, each new entity is more complex, just as Evolution claims.
- Apsu / matter and Tiamat / energy begat
- Lahmu / inert mud which solidifies into dirt and rock, i.e. the environment and and Lahamu slime which incorporates movement / energy / life into mass
- Anshar – note, by himself, no partner this time – made his son Anu like himself – a heavenly being,
- And Anu begot Nudimmud in his likeness – ergo, also a heavenly being
- He, Nudimmud, was superior to his forefathers: Profound of understanding, he was wise, was very strong at arms.
- And Anu begot Nudimmud in his likeness – ergo, also a heavenly being
- Anshar – note, by himself, no partner this time – made his son Anu like himself – a heavenly being,
- Lahmu / inert mud which solidifies into dirt and rock, i.e. the environment and and Lahamu slime which incorporates movement / energy / life into mass
The Enuma Elish has multiple internal inconsistencies, rendering it an unreliable account for scientific or historical purposes. How bizarre then, that is parallels modern “scientific” materialistic explanations of how the universe came into existence as we know it.
The Enuma Elish is paralleled by Hindu scriptures which likewise fail to credit an intelligent “namer” / designer.
the Vedas constitute the oldest scriptures of Hindu literature…believed to have been the result of direct revelation (Sruti)…Rigveda is considered to be the oldest and it declares the following:
“Who verily knows and who can declare it, whence it was born and whence comes this creation?
The Gods are latter than this world’s production. Who knows thence first it came into being?
He, the first origin of this creation, whether he formed it all or did not form it,
Whose eye control this world in highest heaven, he verily knows it, or perhaps he knows not.”
This reference makes it clear that…it is unclear whether creation occurred on God’s command or whether creation occurred as a consequence of a spontaneous phenomenon—leaving unanswered the question of whether God (or gods) themselves had any definite knowledge about creation…
The Enuma Elish is extremely vague about the origins of the gods, as it must in order to bypass the Creator / Namer’s authority. We can see the origins of what is supposedly “purely” scientific, but is in actuality an alternate religion, of evolution of life from a primordial chaos of atoms. We can see the origins of the Big Bang theory in the Sumerian account.
In fact, our word and concept of “chaos” is exactly, unchanged, the Greek name for Apsu.
The Bible explains physical science as well as invisible, spiritual, i.e. hyper dimensional energy states of being, the past as well as the future. We are honest when we acknowledge that science, no matter how intellectual the scientist, can’t scientifically determine these states of being. We can only know whatever is communicated to us by someone who was there and capable himself of understanding the states of being – if he chooses to have a word with us.
We rationally choose to put our faith in both honestly conducted science and God’s revelation when we honestly examine the evidence provided in both realms.
Are you more certain than Einstein that you already know everything you need to know about the universe, life and everything?
