Pay attention to the position of the apostrophe in “Gods”. This is referring to the multiplicity of false gods, not the Singularity God.
A modern Pagan gives a good explanation of what casual Christianity has lost sight of.
The common meaning of sacrifice is “to give up.” We pour a libation, giving up the opportunity to drink the wine in order to give it to the gods…
The older meaning of sacrifice is “to make sacred.” By dedicating something to the gods through ritual and ceremony it becomes sacred – it takes on some of the essence of the gods. Some of that divine essence then returns to us…
I’m glad modern Pagans are talking about sacrifice. Whether we “give up” or “make sacred” or both, regular sacrifices will strengthen our relationships with our gods and goddesses.
Now, with this background, can we understand the biblical teaching in the give and take between humans and spirit beings.
But Messiah / Anointed being come an high priest of good things to come…having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ…purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of [his] death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” (Hebrews 8:10, 9:11-15)
Gentiles could understand this because of their familiarity with pagan practices.
Too many Jews, in particular the establishment, were clinging to their power and prerogatives attached to maintaining the old sacrificial system.
“Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.” (John 6:53-54)
And many of his readers react by gagging.
But Jesus is a good educator. He is not only using the known practices of the day to relate to himself: “eat MY flesh, drink MY blood”, for those of us unfamiliar with those practices he is using concrete language of “eating” to explain the parallel abstract concept of “absorbing life”.
Many writers…mix abstract language with somewhat concrete language, but they don’t become specific enough…only when readers can picture a specific scene, your writing becomes engaging and colorful.
To get readers to listen to our advice, we need to explain the abstract rules, and share concrete stories to add meaning. We sketch the big picture, and use examples to add color.
- “He that “eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood” = “dwelleth in me, and I in him”
- the eaten and the eater become permanently merged into each other
- As the living Father hath sent me [away], and I [still] live by [am connected to] the Father / YHVH / Singularity / Infinite source of eternal life:
despite being sent away from the Father, Yeshua is still connected to him
- so he that “eateth me”…shall live by me.
-
- in the same way, any human that connects to YHVH’s Savior will also be connected to the source of life even after he is sent away from them.
-
In contemporary culture, we can conceptualize that as wired vs wireless connection.
But there does seem to be more than mere imagery in the teaching about eating = unity, as we find examples where the physical act of eating, in actuality, creates unity.
“two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus…And…Jesus himself drew near, and went with them. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him…And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them. And their eyes were opened, and they knew him.” (Luke 24:14-31)
In this case, the trigger to knowing – becoming united with – Jesus was receiving blessed bread from him. We should intrinsically understand from common decent human behavior that blessing acknowledges, i.e. connects, the one giving the blessing to the giver of the blessing. The source of the gift of life may be invisible, but the gift and giver are as real as any person to whom gratitude and appreciation are due.
Unlike the one-sided entitled Christian prayers taught to children that invariably start with “Thank you for…” and go on to request “please bless…”, Jewish prayers acknowledge the two-way relationship, the unity that consists in not only acknowledging the receipt of an act of goodness, but reciprocating in like manner.
Like bringing flowers or desert to the hostess of a dinner party. Person #1: “Thank you!” Person #2: “Oh thank YOU!”
בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְ‑יָ אֱ‑לֹהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם הַמּוֹצִיא לֶחֶם מִן הָאָרֶץ:
BA-RUCH A-TAH A-DO-NOI
ELO-HAI-NU ME-LECH HA-O-LAM
HA-MO-TZI LE-CHEM MIN HA-A-RETZ.
Blessed are You, L-rd our G‑d, King of the
Universe, Who brings forth bread from the earth.
The person who prays in this manner acknowledges responsibility to reciprocate the gift of life by giving life back.
How?
“who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensd unto him again?…therefore...present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service…that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 11:35, 12:1-2)
And Satan the Wise learned how to take advantage of humanity’s life energy to replace the bread from heaven that he and his followers lost when they broke free of the Singularity.
“he had…rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the corn / grain of heaven. Man did eat angels’ food.” (Psalm 78:23-25)
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life.” (Revelation 22)
“Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil…Behold, the man is become as one of us…to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever…the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden…and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” (Genesis 2:16-17; 3:23-24)
“the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood [that’s us Gentile converts to YHVH’s Promised Savior]. For it is the life of all flesh…whosoever eateth it shall be cut off.” (Leviticus 17:11-14)
It shouldn’t be that hard to contrast the holy commandments with the unholy behaviors of the fallen angels.
Humans who want to break the glass ceiling of their four dimensional limits to expand into the hyper dimensional state must connect to the spirit dimension in some way. The only alternative for those who do not want to be limited to God’s righteous unselfish behavior is to instead merge with like-minded unrighteous self-indulgent hyper dimensional beings.
…that author’s identification between Watchers and Vampires is absolutely correct, the word vampire…[relates] to the vampires’ social and spiritual identity and status within a given cultural framework…In summary vampire… was…an Overlord.
You have to admit, this is not your usual Bible study. But it does draw its conclusions logically.
People are entranced by these creatures for the same reason that was Eve’s undoing in the Garden – the promise of power by defying death.
The association of blood-sucking vampires with hyper sexuality is the logical extension of draining energy from a living being.
Author Vivianne Crowley says in Wicca: The Old Religion in the New Age…”the sacred marriage is outwardly a marriage of two people, but inwardly it is a marriage of the two within one person.”
Ritual sex…can be used to raise energy, create magical power, or find a sense of spiritual communion with a partner…In Her Hidden Children, author Chas Clifton writes, “Many Pagan religions include invocation and possession by their gods. Wicca, in particular, extends that possession to sexual acts…uniting in their bodies the cosmic and the most personal energies of planetary life.
The Grave Yard Press is a website created for the real vampire community.
The Sexual Vampire: is a bare bones straight out, call it like it is, definition. It is an understanding of the base of the creature and what they are about. There are still many different types of sexual vampire, that part never changes, but what doesn’t change is that at the base of it, sex has to be involved, either in action, intention or thought…
Regardless of the means in which you engage in it, whether purely physical, or totally psychological, the end result is that some element of sexual energy has to be involved….There are basically two categories…Biological and Energy Feeders…
Coitus feeding: This is literally the physical act of having sexual intercourse…there are those who find anything other than the very act itself, isn’t doing anything…
Organic Fluid Feeding: Well this gets to the sticky heated mess of it all. The basics of it are that you need the sexual fluids, whether that be in the form of semen, sexually excited blood, menstrual or vaginal fluids, these feeders claim that without it, they cannot sustain themselves appropriately.
Flirts don’t have to actually have sexual contact in any way, merely evoke a sexual response in others. This doesn’t have to be a response focused on their own form. A ‘flirt’ can be in a situation where they draw another to a strip club, or watch a sexy movie, or for that matter sexualize another in a manner that draws those hints of sexual desire from others.
The ‘Tease’…is the one who makes you wiggle in your seat. They tend to end up in your dreams, or haunting your desire on some evening when you are alone and don’t have to account for your secret desires.
The Tempter: doesn’t just want you turned on, they want you to explore dark places. They combine sexual fears and fantasy, to lead people to places they might never explore on their own…These can be the most dangerous however. Simply because one has a fantasy, doesn’t mean it should be explored. A smart ‘Tempter’ understands that if they draw someone into something that is psychologically unhealthy…you no longer feel excited and a little scared, but actually reach into self loathing.
Anyone who has expended energy during sex can personally testify that this experience drains you, and captures you, even reluctantly, to one’s sex partner however exploitive that partner becomes. This does not empower you, it steals your energy and independence.
It is the opposite of the life-giving relationship that the Bible describes.
