Traditional Christian views held that the world started with its Creation and would end with the second coming of Jesus. This concept did not give evolution enough time to producing anything. 6000 years was not enough time to create the incredible diversity of life in the world.
Charles Lyell (1797–1875) was a close friend of Charles Darwin. Lyell’s elite social and political connections within Britain’s Military Industrial Complex – like his friend Darwin – authorized him to underwrite a new “explanation of time” that due to its “eloquence…convinced a wide range of readers of the significance of “”Deep time.“

As Darwin wrote in On the Origin of Species, “He who can read Sir Charles Lyell’s grand work…yet does not admit how incomprehensibly vast have been the past periods of time, may at once close this volume [On the Origin of Species]. “
Good advice. Lots of advances in understanding time have been made in the last 150 years.
The human mind has long grappled with the elusive nature of time: what it is, how to record it, how it regulates life, and whether it exists as a fundamental building block of the universe…
The French scientist Sadi Carnot proved…what came to be known as the second law of thermodynamics…entropy (the amount of disorder) must always increase. The fact that things get more disordered — but never the other way around — appears to lend a directionality to time…
Why does time appear to flow in just one direction? In The Nature of the Physical World, the British physicist Arthur Eddington…wrote:
“If as we follow the arrow we find more and more of the random element in the state of the world, then the arrow [of time] is pointing towards the future; if the random element decreases the arrow points towards the past. That is the only distinction known to physics.”
If time = increased chaos, how can Evolution claim that eons of time increased the organization of first atoms, then molecules, then cells, then organisms, then plant and animals and finally the highly organized ecosystem we have today?
It can’t.

In his special theory of relativity, Albert Einstein showed that…measurements of time depend on the motion of each observer. An exception is the speed of light, which is seen to have the same value by everyone (about 300,000 km per second). The theory also implies that the speed of light is the ultimate speed limit for the universe…
In 1988 The British physicist Stephen Hawking published A Brief History of Time…Hawking identified three distinct “arrows of time”: a psychological arrow (underpinning our memories of the past and how we imagine the future), a thermodynamic arrow (the direction in which entropy [chaos] increases), and a cosmological arrow (the direction in which the size of the universe increases).
Again, how is it possible that the theory of evolution, which contradicts top physicists’ basics of what happens over extended periods of time, remains a foundational premise of science?
in 1859, Charles Darwin, a deacon in the Church of England, published Origin of Species which…challenged conventional Christian belief in the literal truth of the biblical creation story.
Aha! Here we have it. Getting rid of God as an authority figure. Especially that part about being good.
By the end of the nineteenth century, the findings of Darwin and the Higher Critics had been embraced by…influential figures in the media, universities and seminaries. The largely upper-class and urban people who accepted the new learning became known as modernists or liberals…
a movement began that opposed modernism vehemently and affirmed the literal truth of the Bible. Building on a long tradition of anti-intellectualism on the American frontier, these Christians would come to be known as fundamentalists.
Fundamentalists are by nature hard to convince. So rather than throwing God out altogether, a plan was hatched to adapt his version of reality. If you can’t beat em, join em.
Mr. Bertrand Comparet:
science knows human beings have lived on the earth far longer than the few thousand years covered by the Bible…
Note – this assumes that evolution is a “really proven science” which it is not, see arguments in following posts.
the truth is that the Bible nowhere says that Adam was the first man…— it merely says that Adam was the first man of a new [creation] or the White race.
Note the failure to provide the biblical reference for this statement.
The many mis-translations in the King James Bible obscure much of the truth… see Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible…
And here this sophist reveals his end goal. Replace trust in the King James Bible with Rotherham’s Emphasized Bible.
Cutting to the chase – this is the version of the Bible used by Mary Baker Eddy’s Church of Christ, Scientist, which focuses on physical healing.
Note how the reader must replace trust in 47 translators far more fluent in the ancient languages back in 1611 with just one man – Rotherham.
But then a direct contradiction is made in promoting his scholarship with admitting that he relied on a few other self-credentialed scholars.
- “Rotherham was thoroughly versed in Hebrew and Greek…
- Using Tregelles’ New Testament Greek text…
- Westcott and Hort’s New Testament Greek text…
- Rotherham based his Old Testament translation on Dr. C.D. Ginsburg’s comprehensive Masoretico-critical edition of the Hebrew Bible,
The goal of these new translators with their alternate interpretations was specifically to sow distrust in the reliability of the King James translation of the Bible.
Ironically, the purpose of the King James translation was to establish a reliable translation.
The 400th anniversary of the most published book in history, the King James Bible, will be Monday. This version’s importance and influence in Western civilization is without equal, and it still outsells, by far, all other English Bible translations.
Andrew Motion, a British poet laureate, expressed its impact when he said, “The King James Bible is a cornerstone of our culture and our language. Whatever our faith, whatever we believe, we have to recognize the rhetorical power of this book.”
When King James I ascended to the throne in 1603, the unity of the British kingdom was threatened by schism…magnified through no fewer than 50 English versions of the Bible…
[The King James Bible] was published without marginal notes and was issued with the hope of healing the religious strife threatening to tear Great Britain apart…
The scholars’ efforts resulted in a masterpiece. The King James Bible became the one common standard that was used in worship services by denominations of every stripe and color throughout the English-speaking world.
The King James Bible has been and continues to be revered by English-speaking Christians everywhere as the Word of God.
Even outspoken atheist Richard Dawkins admires it.
“Not to know the King James Bible is to be in some small way barbarian,” he said…
the King James Bible…has also made an indelible impact on the religion, culture and governments of the English-speaking world and will continue to do so for years to come.
The King James Bible had the greatest influence on informing and inspiring the Protestant Reformation’s resistance to the oppressive and murderous Renaissance tyrants. Closer to home, we see its continuing influence on Martin Luther King’s success in opposing racism in America.
Clearly, the ultimate goal of the elite is to separate the masses from this formidable social force for equality and justice.
Returning to Mr. Comparet’s sermon:
In Genesis 3, verse 3, when Eve tells Satan that God has said that they must not touch the fruit of the Tree of Good and Evil, the word there translated “touch” [in the King James Bible] is the Hebrew word “ִתְגּעוּ / th gou” meaning “to lie with, to have sexual intercourse with,” which plainly shows that…there were other people in the world at that time.
As pointed out by Mr. Comparet, the non-sexual translation “תִגְּע֖וּ / touch” found in the King James is a significant discrepancy from the Rotherham “have sexual intercourse”.
- But the exact same Hebrew word תְגּעוּ is used for the variant translations,
- and the exact same Masoretic Hebrew text is used by both translations.
- and a Hebrew spelling to English translation is “touch”
Based on scholarship and productivity, the King James Bible outclasses the Rotherham by far and it would be reasonable to simply discard Mr. Comparet’s claim. But, out of curiosity if nothing else, how does the Rotherham version make up this variant translation?
Apparently he just does. And people who don’t investigate the claims being made blindly grasp, like Eve, at whatever appeals to them.
Obviously, the trees in the garden of the Lord in Eden were family trees of races and nations.
So the law against the “forbidden fruit” was a law against mis-cege-nation, having sexual relations with other races,
it was Adam’s job to rule the various nations and races of the earth as God’s representative here, educating them in God’s laws and enforcing obedience to those laws. These other races and nations had been here many thousands of years before Adam.
As detailed in a later post, evolution dehumanizes categories of people. Inserting evolution into the Bible allows Christians to claim a biblical means of salvation from hell while simultaneously rejecting unpalatable equality, justice, and righteous behavior towards rivals and allowing massive exploitation and murder of third world nations. and allows the elite tyrants to exploit and murder with impunity.
The massive lengths of time required by evolution are also inserted into the Bible via the Gap Theory.
The Gap Theory states that God – however you care to define him – “created” or in some way “caused to be” a formless, void, and dark earth, like a black hole, then exploded it, therby allows Christians to apparently reconcile the Bible with the belief of evolution that the Earth is billions of years old.
So fundamentalist biblical opponents of the Gap Theory fiercely oppose evolution and defend creationism by insisting that everything in Genesis 1 occurred in seven 24-hour days.
Let’s be true scientists and examine all claims objectively.
The Creator described in the Bible no more needs 24 hours than he needs billions of years to create either the old or the new creation. We cannot judge the circumstances of creation week by current conditions.
WRONG.
Eternity is not longer time. It is the opposite of time. It is time-less-ness.
“be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (II Peter 3:8)
It is infinity, which cannot be measured. It has neither beginning nor end.
“the King eternal, immortal” (I Timothy 1:17)
Eternity is a dimension that can’t be understood by those who haven’t transformed from mortal to immortal any more than colors can be described to someone who is colorblind or music to someone who has been deaf from birth.
“in the twinkling of an eye…the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” (I Corinthians 15:52)
“…eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world / chronos / times began / aionios / a very long time ago.” (Titus 1:2)
This verse is an example of both the benefits and the confusion that comes from having different translations of the Bible. In this instance, the different translations of the phrase chronos aionios should help clarify the meaning – “the beginning of time, the world began, ages began.” The common denominator to the different translations is that the Bible states there was a beginning to time, and this is corroborated by science.
“Physicists agree that time had a beginning.”
While, as described above physical time is defined by deterioration, such as the decay of radioactive isotopes, historic time is defined by assigning a starting point and measuring standardized intervals between events. National histories are typically dated by the reigns of their kings. At the beginning of one historical novel set in Britain’s dark ages, the fictional narrator dates his story from three perspectives –
- for the Celts, when the Roman oppressors left Britain and they regained their freedom;
- for the Saxons, when they drove the Celts out of the choicest land;
- for the Christian converts, when their Lord Jesus Christ was born.
the Bible does not document a geological earth calendar based on measurements of events like radioactive decay. What is documented is the doleful tolling of the deaths of men.
“And all the days that Adam lived were 930 years: and he died….And all the days of Seth were 912 years: and he died…” (Genesis 5:3-8)
This did not occur until the 7th day of creation, when the Adams’ violated a law.
- “by one (hu)man sin entered into the world,
- and death by sin;
- and so [the physical condition of] death passed upon all (hu)men [who share the prototype human’s DNA],
- for that all have sinned [we currently understand this as epigenetics – the DNA inherited by children has been changed by a parent’s behavior]:” (Romans 5:12)
This timekeeping is consistent with the theme of the Bible being the history of humanity – not the physical universe which is simply the setting for humanity. Human time had a beginning – when death began – and an end – when death is destroyed.
“And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: But…the mystery of God should be finished.(Revelation 10:5-7, 11:15)
“So when…this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass…Death is swallowed up in victory.” (I Corinthians 15:53-54)
“And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea…and there shall be no more death...” (Revelation 21:1-4)
Studying the Bible is not just a matter of cultural-religious identity, or living right, or solving problems. It is a matter of resurrection from the dead to eternal life.
For mortal humanity. Why would anyone be against that?
Ahh, yes. The immortal enemies of humanity.
If we base our interpretation of a creation “day” on a biblical model rather than our assumptions, we find that the creation “day” is not a spacetime quantity. It is a hyper dimensional quality.
Right in the passage “day” is defined as a state of being of light.
“And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night.” (Genesis 1:5)
The creation day is characterized by a condition when God is in control and personally active as the light of the world, which like the sun, energizes all life.
In contrast to God’s day, the darkness of night is characterized by the absence of God’s presence and activity.
“God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him [are in his presence involved in his activities], and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth.” (I John 1:5-6)
The Hindu religion has maintained ancient records out of which we can pull a more accurate spiritual perspective about the difference between mortal and immortal, time and eternal, as opposed to Western civilization’s materialistic frame of reference.
According to them, the gods were immortal…subject to a different time frame and had their own periods of activity and rest. These constituted their days and nights.
When the highest Supreme Self was awake, they believed, He would expand outwardly and manifest his objective worlds…In Hinduism time…exists only so long as we are bound to the things of this world through our senses [mortal body]... In God’s consciousness there are no divisions of time.
There is only the present moment, one continuous, indivisible and indistinguishable state of existence.”
The account of creation in Genesis 1 establishes that night is not simply the absence of daylight, it is the opposite of daylight, with its own works, characterized by destructive forces opposing God’s life-giving work.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
“Giving thanks unto the Father,
- which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
- Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness,
- and hath translated us into the [hyper dimensional] kingdom of his dear Son:” (Colossians 1:12-13)
In our Western (pagan Roman) culture each 24 hour day is calculated, significantly, to begin in the middle of the nighttime, i.e. mid-night, at 2400 hours by military time, or 12:00 am by civilian reckoning. Night is interrupted by daylight ~ 6:00 am, then resumes ~ 6:00 pm and wraps up the 24 hour day and merges during nighttime hours into the next 24 hour day.
The biblical day is the opposite. Each day begins in the middle of the daytime, i.e. noon at 12 p.m., is interrupted by nighttime from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, resumes the next morning at daybreak until noon, at which time the next day begins.
If we apply this to what the Bible teaches about light and darkness, especially that there is no darkness at all in God, then the following sequence of events unfolds during the creation week.
- “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
- [All light, no darkness at all. Evening of creation day
- And [something happened and] the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was [superimposed by something other than God] upon the face of the deep. [Works of darkness during Night 1.]
- And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be [command performance, NOT creation of] light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: [Restoration of creation on the MORNING of creation day 1.]
and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening [midday to darkness and [two separate periods of time] the morning [daybreak to midday, roughly 6:00 am to noon] were the first day.” (Genesis 1:1-5)
The theme of the Bible is stated at the very beginning of the book, in the second sentence immediately after the statement of creation, as the struggle for control of creation.
The struggle to control the world continues to be expressed throughout the entire first chapter at the most elementary level in the enigmatic recounting of “the evening and the morning.” Each creation day has the unspoken acknowledgment of the interjection, in the middle of each day’s work, of the opposing forces of darkness.
Night: Creation is plunged into destruction and darkness because of iniquity by them.
“…they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge. I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.” (Jeremiah 4:22-23)
Who are they? I contend (that’s a pun) that God didn’t give us more detail in Genesis because everybody knew the story back when the Bible was written.
For sure it was written up in the ancient Sumerian account of creation, the Enuma Elish. It is only recently that a culture that prides itself on universal education has become so ignorant.
For starters, we know in context that they are immortal because time as a measure of human death hasn’t happened yet. This inference is further confirmed by the recounting of creation in Job where the angels must be in existence before the earth in order to be able notice and praise it. This is immediately followed by God’s reproof. Some of those angels rebelled through pride, in particular, a crooked serpent.
“when I laid the foundations of the earth…laid the corner stone thereof…the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy…commanded the morning…and caused the dayspring to know his place; That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it…they stand [still] as a garment. And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken. (Job 38:4-15)
“He…hangeth the earth upon nothing…The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof…and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud…the crooked serpent.” (Job 26:7-12)
The nights of creation week can be envisioned as something like the London Blitz.
The power of light and life being opposed by the power of darkness and death shouldn’t even need explanation. This is not at all unique to creation. History is essentially a list of wars. Virtually every episode in the Bible is based on the theme of evil adversaries destroying God’s people and property during a terrible dark night.
Do you want to be on the winning side? Join God who fights back and triumphs!
“He [God] is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered? Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger. Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble. Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.” (Job 9:3-7)
What is God’s weapon? The same unique power that formed the universe in the first place. His word.
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)
“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my [YHVH’s Savior’s] words shall not pass away.” (Matthew 24:35)
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war…and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword [think sonic weapon], that with it he should smite the nations…
- And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords…
- And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army.
- And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
- And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword [weapon] proceeded out of his mouth” (Revelation 9:11-21)
The voice that thundered the universe into being – the real Big Bang – is the same voice that shouts his troops to follow him into battle to end the rebellion.
Studying the Bible is not just a matter of cultural-religious identity, or living right, or solving problems. It is a matter of eternal life under the control of the giver of life, or eternal life-less existence in a state of zombified death with the cruel Lord of the Flies.
