This word means simply “expansion.” It denotes the space or expanse like an arch appearing immediately above us. They who rendered raki’a by firmamentum regarded it as a solid body. The language of Scripture is not scientific but popular…

This explanation by Bible Study Tools dictionary is simply appalling.

What did we just read in the preceding three verses?

Focus! What just happened?

1. “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2. And the earth was without form, and void” (Genesis 1:1-2)

The earth was destroyed with massive astrological objects by the forces of darkness, remember?!

The context is war! God’s next action MUST be interpreted in this context.

Obviously the scale of enhanced force would be somehow different but the essential principles of applied dynamics and what works best are the same…

The Hebrew noun for firm-ament, raqia רָקִיעַ, comes from the root verb raqa רָקַע which means “to stamp, hammer or beat out, indicating a solid, or at least impenetrable, vault over the earth.

Job’s account of creation, which gives us much more detail, solidifies (that’s a pun) this interpretation of a hard firmament.

“Has thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten [metalic] looking glass?” (Job 37:18)

Even modern glass mirrors reflect via a coating of elemental silver.

The account of Samson’s destruction of his enemy – at the price of the destruction of himself and everyone around him – provides a concrete (ha ha) example of the form and function of the firmament as a roof -terrace forming a protective barrier from incoming elements that would harm anyone on the ground. 

The discovery of the oldest flat roof construction dates back between 7100 BC to 5700 BC in the middle east in an ancient settlement called Çatalhöyük in modern-day Turkey. It is likely that the first flat roofs in America can be dated back to the mid 8th century in Puebloan design.

“Then the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon their god, and to rejoice: for they said, Our god hath delivered Samson our enemy into our hand. And when the people saw him, they praised their god: for they said, Our god hath delivered into our hands our enemy, and the destroyer of our country, which slew many of us…and they set him between the pillars.

And Samson said unto the lad that held him by the hand, Suffer me that I may feel the pillars whereupon the house standeth, that I may lean upon them.

you can do many things on flat roofing. Because it will provide you with extra space, use that according to your need. 

Every ancient city was crowded with buildings. Hmm, just like modern ones. So the rooftops were used extensively in the arid climates.

Note that the text specifies that God did not create the firmament. This project was made.

In the context of the hyper dimensional battle going on at this time, one way God could have made an impenetrable wall firmament is by lining up a defensive shield wall, like the invincible Roman army.  Once we acknowledge the existence of hyper dimensional beings who interact with humans, it’s not a stretch to conclude that the Romans were taught this by their gods. It is a fact the Enuma Elish reports this action. Of course, while claiming it originated from the rebel gods.

We have already established that “stars” are another label for “sons of God / angels”, and that there was a war in heaven between rebel and loyal angels, so it stands to reason that there are both evil and righteous hyper dimensional beings fighting on behalf of earth’s inhabitants, not only on earth itself but in orbit above earth.

In the following section Marduk is the cloned Seed of the Serpent Lucifer, 

Marduk strengthened his hold on the vanquished gods, And turned back to Tiamat [chaotic & formless energy / waters above] whom he had bound…He split her like a shellfish into two parts: Half of her he sat up as the ceiling of the sky [solid, the other half remaining as the swirling foam of outer space], He pulled down the bar [locked it closed] and posted guards [obviously to prevent entrance of created creatures from roiling outer space foam.]

While falsely attributing the kingdom, the power and the glory to the Singularity’s adversary, the Enuma Elish nonetheless validates our understand that the biblical firmament was formed as an impenetrable forcefield that blocks adversarial beings from space.

”Dead things [disconnected from life but not inactive, like vampires] are formed from under the waters [Tiamat, chaotic energy / sea of outer space], and the inhabitants thereof…He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud. By his spirit [energy] he hath garnished the heavens;” (Job 26:5-13)

This word “garnish” means both to add something, like parsley to plated food, and to take away, like money from wages. This seemingly contradictory use of a word is common, and understandable when we recognize the two sides to an action. For example, garnished wages take away money from one person in order to add money to another person.

Older meaning survives in legal sense of “to warn or serve notice” (1570s). 

“And God…divided the waters which were 1) under the firmament from the waters which were 2) above the firmament…And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.” (Genesis 1:6-9)

“Seven Seas” was used to define a multiplicity of oceans in the past, but today we recognize our one interconnected ocean. 

This is recognized especially by the effect of Antarctica’s encircling cold interacting with the warm currents to the north. The map attempting to demonstrate this while maintaining a globular earth view is transparently confusing, while a perspective centered on the North Pole with Antarctica circling the perimeter of all the rest of the oceans / continents is much more workable.

That leaves the second sea specified in the Bible located above the firmament as specified in the Bible.

Interesting that what the Bible reported thousands of years ago is only very recently become a geological scientific discovery.

The LHB [Late Heavy Bombardment] may have been key to delivering water to Earth…

Asteroids currently are the most likely suspect for delivering water to the planet…

researchers can study millimeter- to centimeter-thick layers of rock droplets known as spherules.

“Spherule layers…preserved in the geologic record, provide information about an impact even when the source crater cannot be found,” Brandon Johnson, of Purdue University, told Space.com…

“Some of the asteroids that we infer were about 40 kilometers (24.8 miles) in diameter…

The geological evidence of “heavy bombardment” on earth from space is also consistent with the references in Genesis 1 of Day followed by Night followed by Day being works of light and life opposed by works of darkness and destruction.

In order to contain liquid in one place one must have a container. Geology informs us that massive forces lifted up the features called mountains, as in “mounting up,” and hollowed out deep impressions, which in a very basic descriptive way is called “the” deep.

The tides ebb and flow within the water basin / the deep, but the territory remains “the sea”.

“as the waters cover the sea.” (Isaiah 11:9)
