America’s civil and criminal justice systems are grounded on the Mosaic Code…centuries before Christ, the Jews devised a legal system based on the dignity of man and individual equality before the law. Individuals accused of crimes were considered innocent until proven guilty, had the right to confront their accusers, were allowed to testify in their own behalf, were not subject to double jeopardy, and could appeal convictions.
A thorough and interesting book containing observations on this subject and many more about Jewish history is Max Dimont’s Jews, God & History. Reproduced here are some of Mr. Dimont’s insightful observations on the subject of this blog:
In the American system, there are stages of a criminal lawsuit that must be followed.
During the sentencing phase of a criminal case, the court determines the appropriate punishment for the convicted defendant. In determining a suitable sentence, the court will consider a number of factors, including the nature and severity of the crime, the defendant’s criminal history, the defendant’s personal circumstances and the degree of remorse felt by the defendant.
As so in Revelation, before God’s wrath is poured out on the Adversary in Revelation 16, we find a review of the defendant’s criminal history in Revelation 14-15, consisting of aggravated stalking, acts of terrorism, mass murder, and desecration, just to name a few.
“And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars…
- This is Eve, the mother of all living, who was counterfeited by paganism by honoring Semiramis, the mother of post-flood demigods beginning with Nimrod. See previous posts for details and references.
- And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon… This is Lucifer, who opposed all the Seed of the Woman, i.e. all humanity.
- And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron:
- Eve lives on in her genetics in all humans, so her descendant Mary can justly be identified as Eve, fulfilling the promise that the Seed of the Woman Eve would take dominion over the earth.
- and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne…
- In contrast to Nimrod who was not.
- And the woman [in her descendants] fled into the wilderness, where she hath a [safe] place prepared of God…
- And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon [cloned into Satan] ; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
- And the great dragon was cast out…Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
- So far it’s been 2,000 human years, who knows how it feels to timeless Satan?
- And…he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child
- the true Israel of God combining Jews and Gentiles into the existing state of Israel not the new state religion of Christianity
- and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ….(Revelation 12)
The ONENESS of God and the extension of his identity into his children is what saves us from self-destruction AKA sin and resulting death. Sin AKA Satan and his Seed can’t defeat omnipotent God, therefore they can’t defeat his children as long as we stay connected to our power and source of life!
Think about it! God honored frail, helpless human womanhood, the original rebellious, sinning human, by making a woman his greatest ally in the battle for control of the universe. This proof of God’s absolute forgiveness AND TRUST IN US should take your breath away!
God is all about partnering and sharing. While Satan set right to work producing his powerful hyper dimensional clone, God waited for thousands of years before the Seed of the Woman was born. In the meantime, for four thousand years he relied on transiently spirit filled humans to hold onto the Kingdom, get the word out, keep hope alive, be living testimonies of God’s faithfulness to his promises! And for the last two thousand years he has been relying on permanently spirit filled humans!
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Goye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Mat 28:18-20)
He never leaves us nor forsakes us as he gives us the opportunities to become heroes.
“the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying…as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” (Joshua 1:1-5)
This Old Testament passage is what is quoted in the New Testament about Jesus Christ.
“he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will ot fear what man shall do unto me.” (Hebrews 13:5-6)
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth. From the uttermost part of the earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. BUT I said…woe unto me! the treacherous dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously.” (Isaiah 24)
Isaiah’s prophetic account is consistent with Yeshua’s, Paul’s and John’s regarding the apostate “falling away” treachery of the dealers / leaders towards assumedly saved believers, with warnings not to be caught on the wrong side of this judgment.
“the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up…they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore…beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.” (I Peter 3:10-17)
