18) The Likeness of God: Singularity

To today’s most advanced thinkers, academics like Richard Dawkins, the Charles Simony Professor of the Public Understanding of Science at Oxford, and the other militant materialists who regulate and maintain the scientific world-view, the ‘mind of God’ is…the anthropomorphic fallacy. Even if we allow that God might conceivably exist, they say, why on earth should ‘He’ be like us? Why should ‘His’ mind be in any way like ours?

The fact is that they’re right. Of course there is no reason at all…unless it’s the other way round. In other words, the only reason why God’s mind might be like ours is if ours was made to be like His…

The signature likeness of God is Singularity in diversity, so this is the primary attribute we should look for in mankind’s likeness to God.

As detailed in the post The Singularity, in scientific terms a singularity is infinity. Practically speaking, this means that  a singular entity can split off parts of itself to make more without losing itself in the process. And that’s exactly what YHVH Creator did under the law of E=mc2. He converted some of his infinite / eternal energy into mass without losing any of his infinite life force / energy. All of creation is composed of the Singularity / God. It all came from him, and it all returns to him in the end.

Hyper dimensional beings were made via an allotment of the Singularity’s spirit / energy. They can convert some of their energy to mass, and they can clone themselves, but they lose their finite amount of energy in the process. They must re-invigorate themselves 1) by connecting to the Singularity or 2) by engulfing other spirits, either celestial or earthly. Something like amoebas.

In contrast, humanity was created as mass as well as energy. The implications are enormous. Humans embody the fullness of Creator God.

This is explicitly stated to be the case.

  • “the image of the invisible God,
  • the firstborn of every creature…
  • the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ / Chosen One;
  • In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge…
  • For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily
  •  And ye are complete in him, which the head of all principality and power:” (Colossians 2:2-9)

Yes, I know that by the time Paul wrote this piece around 60 AD, the Christ / Chosen One was Jesus of Nazareth. But this passage is based on “the last Adam was made a quickening spirit” and can only be true because “The first man Adam was made a living soul.” (I Corinthians 15:45)

Go back to the beginning.

“And God (singular) said,

  • Let us (plural)
  • make man[kind] / Adam (both singular and plural, like “sheep”)
  • in our image, (plural)
  • after our likeness: (plural)
  • and let them have dominion (plural)
  • So God created the man / ha-Adam (singular)
  • 1st) in his own image, 2nd) in the image of God created he him; (plurality of phrasing signals plurality of “he” and “him”)
  • male and female created he them (indicates plural nature of the singular “he” exactly as designed “in the image of God“)
  • And the LORD God (three in one)
  1. formed man of the dust of the ground – body
  2. and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life – God’s spirit
  3. and man became a living soul.

the man (singular) whom he had formed.” (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:7-8)

Are you catching the significance of what is otherwise a confused jumble of plural and singular designations for the same person?

Just as “God” is not three persons, but one singular entity in diversity, so man was created to be one singular entity in diversity of body, soul and spirit – not three individuals packaged together.

When God cloned the physical woman from the man, this did not diminish the man. This is because his spirit was united with the Singularity, including his mass-ive work of art – creation. He was “complete in him.”

Including gender.

It is assumed from the statement “male and female created he them” that God created one of them with male reproductive organs and the other with female reproductive organs. But the sequence of events laid out indicates that God formed the first from dust then later cloned the second from bone – in his own image –singular as male and female, i.e. as hermaphrodites.

  1. “And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed….v 8
  2. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it…v 15
  3. And out of the ground the LORD God formed (as with Adam) every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air…And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field..” (Can you imagine the thrill of that first Animal Kingdom!) vv 19-20
  4. And the LORD God…took one of his ribs, and…made / cloned he a woman. And Adam said…she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man...one flesh. vv 29-24

Are you aghast at this idea? This actually has startling implications for understanding our current sexually chaotic social situation

Think about it. Even if God had created two sexes as we know them, where did the woman get femininity if not from God?

…in the image of God created he…female…” (Genesis 1:27)

Have we overlooked references to God’s female characteristics, beginning with the most obvious?

“And Adam said…Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife.” (Genesis 2:24)

Who was Adam’s mother if not God? Aren’t we wresting scripture to fit our limited understanding if we insist that this verse in Genesis doesn’t really apply to Adam, only future men?

Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?” (Job 38:29)

“But Zion said…my LORD hath forgotten me. Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.” (Isaiah 49:14-15)

It is interesting that the Hebrew word yalad (Strong’s Concordance Hebrew 3205)” applies equally to mothers bearing children and fathers begetting children.

“Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children;” (Genesis 3:16)

“Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee.” (Psalm 2:6-7)

The documentation of the event of the creation of Adam’s help-meet in Genesis 2 gives the translation of the word “woman” as it was intended to be understood at that time, not as it is understood by contemporary readers.

“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man [הָֽ-אָדָ֜ם] – reading backwards in Hebrew: ha adam] should be alone; I will make him an help[er] meet [appropriate] for him…And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon [the man] Adam [הָֽאָדָֽם ha-adam], and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from the man [הָֽאָדָֽם ha-adam] made he Wo-man [אִשָּׁ֔ה  / Ishsh-ah or Iss-ah].” (Same Hebrew word, Strong’s Concordance number 802, just different dialects as also found in English.) (Genesis 2:18-24)

Following through on the translation of the Hebrew “ha / ah” as “the”, we recognize that Ish-ah is translated as “the woman”, right? God created “the man” and “the woman.”

However, we can’t assume that this reference to “woman” indicates an individual with female body parts as we define the word “woman”.  The use of the term “woman” at this point in the narrative is a literary devise called “prolepsis” or “flash forward” to a future condition that hasn’t yet happened, but makes the flow of the narrative smoother if used at that point.

That future condition is Adam naming this creation, not God. So taking a close look at the text instead of our Sunday School pictures, we find the description of characteristics that Adam used to name the second human.

And [the human] Adam [הָֽאָדָֽם ha-adam] said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: this [זֹ֣את zot] shall be called “Wo-man” [אִשָּׁ֔ה  Is-ah or Ishsh-ah] because this one [וַיֹּאמֶר֮ la-zot] was taken “out of human” [מֵ-אִ֖ישׁ meh-is] .” (Genesis 2:23)

At this point in the narrative this individual is not called “Eve”, and the attribution of “she” referencing this individual is another prolepsis in the English translation of the Hebrew word. The accurate translation is by the Bible’s use of this term in multiple other occasions as “this” or “likewise”. This individual doesn’t become the mother we know and love today until the fruit incident, but let’s not jump ahead. Stay on track with me.

ArdhanarishvaraAncient traditions validate this literal interpretation of the Bible by likewise attributing composite male and female characteristics to their creator god, such as Ardhanarishvara in Hindu tradition. Shakti, the female principle of God, is inseparable from (or the same as, according to some interpretations) Shiva, the male principle of God. “The union of these principles is exalted as the root and womb of all creation.”

In the Egyptian creation myth, the creator god Atum was both male and female. He self-produced two offspring, Shu and Tefnut. The sun god Ra also had double-gender nature with the female counterpart Rat. Agdistis was a deity of Anatolian, Greek, Roman and mythology, possessing both male and female sexual organs.

The Mesoamerican text Popol Vuh, drawn from ancient lost sources, reports this gender duality as “twin” gods. This can be understood to be a confused attempt to understand a concept lost in the mists of time, just as it has been to Christianity.

Almost at the beginning we encounter a pair of masculine-feminine beings of a type nearly hermaphroditic, named Xpiyacoc and Xmucane…These, we will remember, appeared in the myth of Vukub-Cakix and elsewhere. The first appears to apply to the paternal function, whilst the name Xmucane is derived from words signifying “feminine vigour.” The Mexican equivalents of these gods were probably Cipactonatl and Oxomoco, the “father and mother gods.”…

The chief gods took counsel; they were Hurakan, [transliterated into English exactly as it sounds, meaning wind or spirit] Gucumatz, the serpent covered with green feathers, and Xpiyacoc and Xmucane, the mother and father gods…

Xpiyacoc and Xmucane, the father and mother deities, had two sons, Hunhun-Ahpu [Enlil / Adam] and Vukub-Hunahpu [Enki / Lucifer], the first being, so far as can be gathered, a bi-sexual personage. He had by a wife, Xbakiyalo, two sons, Hunbatz [Cain] and Hunchouen [Abel],“

Because the Bible – alone among the ancient religious documents – is so lengthy, we can use its internal variations in translation as a reliable thesaurus. (No, that’s not a kind of dinosaur.) And we find that “Is / Ish” is, most significantly, also translated as “to show oneself to be a man.”

[The false gods / lords] Bel boweth down, Nebo stoopeth…[like a woman in labor], they bow down together; they could not deliver the burden, but themselves are gone into captivity [standard practice for conquering gods to bring the conquered gods and parade their helplessness to save their people.]

Hearken unto me…[In contrast to the false gods, Almighty Creator God does the carrying] which are borne by me from the belly, which are carried from the womb...I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you. Remember this, and shew yourselves men / ish ” (Isaiah 46, Jeremiah 4:22-31)

  • Bel goes by many names including the common translation Baal, i.e. Lord. He first earned this title when Mrs. Adam chose him as her authority.
  • God is reminding his readers of his oath to “deliver you” both metaphorically and in a very real new birth, given at the very beginning of time through the mysterious Seed of the Woman.
  • YHVH Creator God attributes both male and female characteristics to himself, therefore, logically, also to his single-parented offspring, both angelic and human.
  • This passage is contrasting the rebel angels / false gods with humanity when he exhorts them to “shew yourselves men / Ish”.

God himself uses the Hebrew word for wife – Ish – to refer to himself as a marriage partner.

“The word of the LORD that came unto Hosea….Plead with your mother [Israel], plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her sight, and her adulteries from between her breastsfor she said, I will go after my lovers…And she shall follow after her lovers, but she shall not overtake them; and she shall seek them, but shall not find them: then shall she say, I will go and return to my first husband; for then was it better with me than now…And it shall be at that day, saith the LORD, that thou shalt call me Ish-i [my equal marriage partner]; and shalt call me no more Baali [my fearful lord]And I will betroth thee unto me for ever…and thou shalt know [be one with] the LORD…” (Hosea 1-2)

The translation of “אִשָּׁ֔ה Is-ah” in Exodus 26 is an identical “one” coupled with another (different Hebrew word) “אַחַ֖ת one”.

“every one of the curtains shall have one measure [be identical]…coupled together one / is-ah to another.”

twins_illusion_02Both humans – the one formed from the dust of the ground and the one formed from that one’s bone – were genetically identical.

But! you protest, Adam and his wife were told to multiply before they ate the fruit, so they must have had the ability to do so.

Not a problem.

The hydra “accomplishes the feat of apparent immortality by reproducing through budding rather than mating.

This is how God reproduced himself in the first Adam, how he reproduced the second human from the first, and how redeemed humans are born again in the likeness of Jesus Christ.

He splits off some of his inexhaustible supply of Spirit / energy / power / dunamis.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power [to act / exhousia “physical and mental power; the ability or strength with which one is endued, which he either possesses or exercises”] to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.” (John 1:12-13)

And here we find reliability in the account of diversity in singularity.

The account in Genesis of God creating an entire human being from a piece of bone has been validated by science. Dolly the sheep was just the first of many cloned – identical – animals. Scientists are now turning stem cells into almost every tissue in the body. One source of stem cells is bone.

human-cloning1The biblical account of the woman being cloned from the first human’s bone tissue has been faithfully transmitted for thousands of years by people who believed what God said despite not understanding all the details. Why? Because he has proven his word to be true is so many other accounts, and has never been proven to be false. That’s called faith. How much proof does science give before we believe its claims? That’s called bias.

Setting aside all the Sunday School images and our assumptions, a straightforward explanation of scripture leads to the conclusion that gender differences, human sexuality and the reproductive process as we know it resulted from genetic mutations triggered by a substance in the fruit. The Bible states as a fact that woman’s reproductive functions were changed as a result of incorporating a toxic substance into her body.

And the LORD God said unto the woman…Because thou hast done this…I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children…” (Genesis 3:13-16)

Contrary to our casual use of the name, the woman is not called Eve until after genetic changes occurred from eating the fruit. This is because this is the name – not “woman” – that defines her maternal, female characteristics.

“And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.” (Genesis 3:20)

The images below of male Brad Pitt and his remarkably similar daughter Shiloh give an impression of physical differences resulting from genetic changes. The next set of images shows a male who experienced feminization resulting from hormone changes in gender reassignment therapy.

OK, you say, grudgingly beginning to accept that the two first humans were identical, but! Adam was the “son” of God, so they are male, not hermaphrodites.

Not so. The understanding of “sonship” as permanent relationship with benefits vs gender goes without saying in the Bible. I am a female, but I become a “son” of God according to every verse referencing the new birth and adoption.

“…as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.” (John 1:12)

To further prove the point on biblical “gender fluid”, all human sons of God, men and women, become the bride of Christ, the corporate body preparing to unite with Jesus at the end of time/mortality.

“I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches…And the Spirit and the bride say, Come.” (Revelation 22:167-17)

Moving on in the thesaurus, we discover that Is / Ish is predominantly translated wife or a woman engaged in sexual activity, married or otherwise. This is consistent with Adam naming his partner as being united with him. And this is utterly consistent with God’s ideal of total unity in marriage.

Therefore shall a man…cleave unto his wife: בְּ-אִשְׁ-תּ֔וֹ [ba-is-tow] and they shall be one flesh.” (Genesis 2:24)

“Husbands, love [unite with, identify with] your wives…so ought men to love their wives as their own bodiesFor this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery…“(Ephesians 5:15-33)

crazy-looking-cardinal-is-half-male-and-half-femaleHow thoroughly is a man joined to his wife? How does a man love his own flesh when he loves his wife’s flesh? What flesh is this as the text plainly states, the joining of two into one?

Scientifically, there is a known, nature condition of a single individual being both male and female.

The trans-formation of fallen human back to perfected humans accords with the account of the formation of the original perfect woman which states plainly that the woman and man are genetically identical. The record also states that in the new birth / resurrection this is neither male nor female as we know it.

“For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ…is neither…male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:27-28)

Jesus’ notice that in the resurrection / restoration to original mint condition there will be no sexual activity supports the understanding that the prototype Adam combines the attributes of perfect masculinity and perfect femininity in one.

Then come unto him the Sadducees…Now there were seven brethren: and the first took a wife, and dying left no seed…And the seven had her, and left no seed…In the resurrection therefore, when they shall rise, whose wife shall she be of them?…And Yahweh’s Savior/Yeshua/Jesus answering said unto them, Do ye not therefore err, because 1) ye know not the scriptures, 2) neither the power / inherent nature of God? For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven.” (Mark 12:18-25)

Which scripture – must be Old Testament because it was available to the Sadducees before the New Testament was written – tells us that, when we rise from the dead, i.e. are fully redeemed from the power of sin and death to return to the pure likeness and image of God, that we don’t marry, i.e. raise up seed through sexual intercourse? The only one I know is to understand Genesis 1:27 as stating that God made the first two humans both male and female, and that they were split into separate male and female only after the fall.

The Greek word dunamis means that this individual has some ‘inner strength that does not depend on outward things.’ In other words, the nature of God is to be 100% self-sufficient. This is so obviously the fundamental truth how do we ignore its application to God and the children made in his likeness as having both paternal and maternal characteristics?

Once we understand that Singularity is the preeminent likeness God granted to his human children, this should make perfect sense.

And with this understanding of the hyper dimensional / energy / spirit dimension, the current transgender movement should be recognized as a specific gnostic, New Age strategy. This lie claims that humans tapping into their own godhood – i.e. dunamis – will experience  the power of both genders. Same sex marriages deny the inherent lack of human completeness in any individual found only in bisexual unions, and ultimately, the lack of completeness found only in Creator God.

We should recognize that spirits who yearn to express the fullness of their own hermaphroditic being are driving the thoughts and behaviors of humans under their control. This is the basic lie of the serpent, twisting the Creator’s truth. Only through connection with Creator God can we express perfect union with another human, which is self-sacrificing love resulting in permanent union, not self-gratifying sexual exploitation forsaking one individual after another.

Singularity in Body, Soul and Spirit

The three dimensions of a human being are described in the Bible.

  1. I will not refrain my mouth; I will speak
  2. in the anguish of my spirit;
  3. I will complain in the bitterness of my soul. “(Job 7:11)

The three states of body, soul and spirit are capable of independent functioning, while still remaining one person.

  1. My body’s hunger controls my food consumption,
  2. as my soul’s will feels frustration in its unfilled desire to lose weight.
  3. while my God-given spirit feels frustrated over its lack of control over the body and soul.

Our understanding of the three dimensions of a human allows us to reverse engineer to an understanding of the prototype multidimensional model in which we were made, i.e. God Three in One. More on this in a later post.

The following biblical passage on fetal development confirms the first reference to the soul’s origination with the body, expanding on the soul’s connection to the physical nervous system with its use of earth elements.

human-embryo-inside-body-d-illustration-mother-92285289“thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well…when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.(Psalm 139:13-15)

Reins, literal fibers, like a horse’s reins, are the nerves originating in the brain penetrating throughout the entire body in order to control the members of the body,

1280-480406339-neuronsAlmost all nerve cells, or neurons, are generated during prenatal life, and in most cases they are not replaced by new neurons thereafter. Morphologically, the nervous system first appears about 18 days after conception…

In order to produce the estimated 1 trillion neurons present in the mature brain, an average of 2.5 million neurons must be generated per minute during the entire prenatal life. This includes the formation of neuronal circuits comprising 100 trillion synapses, as each potential neuron is ultimately connected with either a selected set of other neurons or specific targets such as sensory endings. Moreover, synaptic connections with other neurons are made at precise locations on the cell membranes of target neurons.

Prenatal Brain Development – YouTube

When humans and primates are first developing, their brains are built from what are known as neural progenitor cells. These are stalk-like cells that multiply over and over again, and they eventually form neurons. The equation is simple since more progenitor cells mean more neurons down the road, and it turns out that human progenitor cells behave differently than the progenitor cells of apes and chimps.

When observing the multiplying behavior of progenitor cells in the primates, the researchers found that the cells continued multiplying at a high rate for roughly five days before maturing and slowing down. That’s a lot longer than in mice, where the cells have been shown to mature within hours. This extended timeframe means that primates have increased brain power and larger brain organs, but human progenitor cells take it to the next level.

The research revealed that humans progenitor cells continue multiplying for up to a full week before transitioning. Because the multiplication of cells is an exponential affair, the extra two days of multiplication means a great deal more cells and eventually neurons in humans.

Sidebar here – how can we accept both this kind of complexity and rapidity of development from a single cell organism to a complete human being and Evolution’s fundamental process of genetic mutation over “billions of years”?

The conclusion that extensive changes have occurred over time is based

  • partially on inferences
  • and an interpretation of data
  • to support the idea that evolutionary development and common descent are both biologically and logically possible.

In contrast to the word play on the inferences, interpretation, and possibility of evolutionary processes, we have the facts uncovered by the scientific study of anatomy and physiology.

The evidence of the amazingly organized

  • physiological generation of 2.5 million neurons per minute for nine months
  • to form 100 trillion synapses exactly placed to create an informatics transportation system throughout the entire body
  • with each neuron precisely connected to a selected set of other neurons on specific end points at precise locations on the cell membranes of target neurons

should put any thinking person in a state of awe at the understated biblical statement “I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works…” (Psalm 139:14)

Further confounding evolution’s reliance on material genetics, the pre-existing social environment in which a fetus is formed has a great impact on the development of personality and behavior – i.e. the soul.

The totality of these events is not thought to be the exclusive product of the genetic code, for there are simply not enough genes to account for such complexity….External environmental factors include nutrition, sensory experience, social interaction, and even learning. All of these are essential for the proper differentiation of individual neurons and for fine-tuning the details of synaptic connections…

So we don’t have a nature vs nurture debate, we have physiology plus social interaction forms the person. Or to put it another way, the chicken and the egg came into being at the same time.

Researchers, psychologists and social scientists have agreed that genes, as well as one’s environment, engage in a complex interplay when shaping personality. Understanding the cause of an individual’s personality, behavior and cognition is an area of interest in various fields.

The Nervous System In 9 Minutes – YouTube

The soul – personality, thoughts, decisions, memories and emotions – comes into existence and can be modified through the chemo-electrical activity of the nervous system.

How to grow your brain – YouTube

the nervous system requires continuous stimulation over an entire lifetime in order to sustain functional activity.

So when the senses of the body stop feeding stimulation to the nervous system, the nervous system stops functioning. This includes the autonomic functions stimulating respiration and cardiac stimulation, and can be observed by vital signs as well as electro-encephalogram demonstrating cessation of electrical activity of the brain.

But does the soul stop existing when the nerve fibers crumble back into the elements of the earth from which it is composed? In a completely material model, yes. Therefore, no concerns about having to account for what mental activity – like hatred, drove actions – like murder, during life.

Yet we know that the nervous system is not just physical fibers. The fibers by themselves do nothing. They are simply the means of generating neurological electrical activity, which is not material but energy.

It is the electrical activity of the brain that composes and allows expression of memories, emotions, intentions, directing behavior and composing the resulting personality. Interestingly, the Bible describes in picturesque terms appropriate to a non-scientific reader the same images now being provided by highly advanced scientific technology.

“Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth…because man goeth to his long home [the grave], and the mourners go about the streets:

cec3b3277213bafff7f9d2242ae252855cfb4f596568fe0dd33956f95c355bfc_1Then shall the dust [of the clay casing for the electrical battery] return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” (Ecclesiastes 12:1-7)

And where does the soul go? This is beyond scientific study and falls into the purview of religion.

many western religions, as well as south Asian and African ones, believe in some form of life after death. Its origins span from the ancient world and classical antiquity until today. Most often, the world of the afterlife is associated with Greek mythology, where it is called the underworld, or Hades.

According to the ancient Greeks, at the time of death, the soul separates from the body and is transported to the underworld, where it is accepted into the realm by the governing god Hades, who is known to reside at the edges of the ocean and under the deepest depths of the Earth.

Hades’ realm, as opposed to the kingdom of Mount Olympus, is virtually all gloom and darkness, solely inhabited by the dead. In Homer’s Odyssey, even the great warrior spirit Achilles in the nether world tells Odysseus that he would rather be subjugated as a landless slave than be the king of the underworld due to the dreary existence in the land of the dead.

Nonetheless, Greek mythology stresses respect for the dead due to the belief in the continued existence of the fallen after their spirit has passed on.

  • Vodun / Voodoo worshippers believe the souls of the dead walk among the living during a dance performed by hooded figures called Egunguns, or “living ghosts…”
  • The Día de Los Muertos ceremony in Mexico connects the living with departed ancestors and family members. Offering items to deceased ancestors will help the departed souls through the afterlife, leaving water on the altar can help quench the spirit’s thirst.
  • In Chinese folk religion, during she family reunions a “personator” will dress up as the ancestor to consume ritual offerings that relatives want to give to the departed.
  • The Buddhist holiday of Pchum Ben is also known as Ancestors Day or the Caring for the Dead Ritual. In Cambodia families bring food offerings to their local Buddhist monks which is thought to transfer as merit to departed ancestors in the spirit world.
  • The Celts believed the spirits of ancestors could walk among the living at will. To protect yourself from negative encounters, the living can offer food and drink to the ancestors.
  • In the Shinto religion the ancestors are thought to be a type of spirit being called kami. There are many festivals and rites for presenting offerings through Shinto shrines in exchange for good results from the kami.
  • In ancient Filippino religion the spirits of the ancestors called Anito influence events in the lives of the living. In a type of seance called the Paganito ceremony, a traditional shaman communicates with the Anito. The living also perform acts of worship and sacrifice to please the ancestral spirits.
  • The Korean holiday of Chuseok is thanking the ancestors for the plentiful harvest includes a ritual called charye – laying out food and lighting incense for departed relatives.
  • In Wales, Calan Gaeafi s the first day of winter. The spirits of the ancestors can walk amongst the living. The traditional way to…avoid a negative encounter with the spirits is by writing your name on a rock and placing it near a fire[Interesting.]
  • And in Christianity: An indulgence is the extra-sacramental remission of the temporal punishment due…in Purgatory…the application to one person of the satisfaction performed by others.

It is worth noting that of all the multitude of religions around the world, the majority – not just the Christian – follow the Hebrew’s ancient account of a Creator and Supreme God. This makes sense, as it provider the only account of a God powerful enough – because he controls creation, and compassionate enough, to sacrificially involve himself with mankind. This God alone provides a means of eternal life through reconnection of the soul with the body in a future resurrection.

I [the personhood, the soul] know that my redeemer [from the condition of death] liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.” (Job 19:25-27)

“I am the LORD / YHVH Creator thy God…and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me…thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine helpI will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death.” (Hosea 13:4-14)

Jesus / YHVH’s Promised Redeemer said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever [the personhood, the soul] liveth and believeth in me shall never die [experience the isolation of the soul]. Believest thou this?” (John 22:25-26)

“Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changedIn a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.” (I Corinthians 15:51-53)

This account alone has been preserved unchanged for thousands of years and has been continuously followed as a way to eternal life by adherents to at least four ancient religions comprising over 50% of the world’s current population.

These prevalence and incidence statistics call for the investigation of these claims.

A survey by the Bible Society concluded that around 2.5 billion copies were printed between 1815 and 1975, but more recent estimates put the number at more than 5 billion.

And that’s not even taking into consideration the fact that the first section of this book commonly called the Torah, has been in continuous circulation for about 3,500 years. Can that be said about any other documentation?

So there is something special about this book, inviting further investigation of its claims.
