13) Creation: Performance Art

The oldest extant (still in existence) physical record of creation is the Sumerian Enuma Elis[h], preserved on clay tablets that are dated to ~2100 BC

enuma-elish-tablets-2-and-3

It is generally agreed by archeologists that the Sumerian culture came into existence about 3500 BC.  So, just as with our own history books, we can realistically deduce one of two conditions:

  1. the historical account written was compiled from older eye witness accounts of the occurrence of the events reported,
  2. or that they are fabricated to impose a ruling elite’s world view on a subjugated population.

Significantly, among religious documents, only the Genesis account of creation is written as a narrative, intended to be an historical account of actual events. Other ancient creation accounts are poetry, which may or not be fully realistic.

introduction-to-poetry-3-638

While the creation accounts in the biblical book of Job and the Psalms are written as poetry, allowing for greater emotional expression, they are not necessarily imaginative in their depictions of creation. As with other religions’ poetic portrayal of creation, validation of the reality of these accounts of creation is found through evidence from other sources.

Enuma Elise [The Heavens]

When skies above were not yet named
Nor earth below pronounced by name…
Nor names pronounced, nor destinies decreed,
Then gods were born within them.

Still understood from contemporary casting of magical spells, the ancients knew that naming a thing called it into existence and brought it under the namer’s power. But while the Sumerian account vaguely mentions “naming”, note that it never credits a namer / authority / owner.

Apsu [primeval waters, matter] the first one, their begetter
And maker  [mummu, meaning a creative force] Tiamat [chaotic foam, energy] who bore them all,
Had mixed their waters [essence of matter and energy] together…

Abstract thinking is one of the higher order intellectual components assessed during a psychiatric evaluation. When questioned “How did you get to the hospital?”, an individual with intact abstract thought processes will intuitively respond with insight on the focus on health problems and will answer accordingly: “I overdosed, I quit taking my medication,” etc. An individual with lower level concrete thinking will answer in terms limited only to physical experience: “The ambulance, my wife drove me,” etc.

With this in mind, if we replace our basic concrete thinking, in this case, of an immense mass of water with the equally valid but higher order abstract concept of immensely powerful hydrologic energy of the movement of a raging ocean, we can recognize the reference to the Singularity.

Likewise, if we equate the Enuma Elish’s Tiamat / chaos with the activity of random chance collisions of atoms, molecules, proteins and DNA mutations, we can recognize the parallel with Evolution opposed to Design. And sure enough, extended periods of time are included in the Enuma Elish’s account.

Ages increased…Anshar (and) Kishar were born, surpassing them.

An = heaven, ki = earth, shar = horizon. An-shar and Ki-shar are the collective material objects found above and below the horizon, in heaven and in earth. They surpass basic mud and slime with their greater complexity, like a shaped, painted, glazed and fired pot surpasses the pile of potters clay from which it was formed, or fully grown plants surpass the dirt, water and sunshine from which they draw their substance.

As detailed in the post Uniformitarianism or Catastrophism, the definition of time is deterioration, which cannot result in greater complexity. A force stronger than chaos must impose order and stability. And yet, as the account continues, each new entity is more complex, just as Evolution claims.

Anu their first-born son rivalled his forefathers:
Anshar made his son Anu like himself,
And Anu begot Nudimmud in his likeness.
He, Nudimmud, was superior to his forefathers:
Profound of understanding, he was wise, was very strong at arms. And Anu begot Nudimmud in his likeness.

As the “son” of the primeval entities, Anu would be composed of mass, yet he is the An-sky god, and creates what we would categorize as spirit beings / angels / gods. His son Nudimmud goes by many names, including En-ki, god of the earth. Once again we see the inconsistency, or at the very least confusing vagary, or outright ignorance, or at most deliberate deception of how Apzu / Force can of itself create entities with mass.

The Enuma Elish is internally inconsistent, i.e an unreliable account, but oddly, parallels modern “scientific” materialistic explanations of how the universe came into existence as we know it.

The Enuma Elish is paralleled by Hindu scriptures which likewise fail to credit a namer.

the Vedas constitute the oldest scriptures of Hindu literature…believed to have been the result of direct revelation (Sruti)…Rigveda is considered to be the oldest and it declares the following:

Who verily knows and who can declare it, whence it was born and whence comes this creation?

The Gods are latter than this world’s production. Who knows thence first it came into being?

He, the first origin of this creation, whether he formed it all or did not form it,

Whose eye control this world in highest heaven, he verily knows it, or perhaps he knows not.”

This reference makes it clear that…it is unclear whether creation occurred on God’s command or whether creation occurred as a consequence of a spontaneous phenomenon—leaving unanswered the question of whether God (or gods) themselves had any definite knowledge about creation…

The Secret History of the World provides a convenient spiritual resource for contemporary Westerners steeped in Christianity to explore other options besides the biblical account of creation.

in the beginning there were no objects in space…

Since there was noTHING when something first happened, it is safe to say this first happening must have been quite different from the sorts of events we regularly account for in terms of the laws of physics.

Might it make sense to say this first happening could have been in some ways more like a mental event than a physical event?

The idea of mental events generating physical effects may at first seem counter-intuitive, but in fact it’s something we experience all the time. For example, what happens when I’m struck by an idea…is that a pulse jumps a synapse in my brain, something like an electrical current burns down a nerve in my arm and my hand moves…

In the beginning an impulse must have come from somewhere…In this history we shall see how for many of the world’s most brilliant individuals the birth of the universe, the mysterious transition from no-matter to matter has been explained…as the mind of God…

From the priests of the Egyptian temples to today’s secret societies…this model [of explaining how matter comes from mind] has always been conceived of as a series of thoughts emanating from the cosmic mind. Pure mind to begin with, these thought-emanations…, energy…became gas, then liquid and finally solids…

These emanations have also always been thought of as in some sense…intelligent…

The reality of everyday experience is that thoughts are quite routinely introduced…The ancients understood this ‘somewhere else’ as being some-one else, the someone being a god, an angel or a spirit…emanations from the great cosmic mind – Thought-Beings in other words. What I am asking you to consider now is that these great Thought-Beings expressed themselves through people. If today we naturally think of people thinking, in ancient times they thought of Thoughts peopling…

For example, Alexander the Great or Napoleon were vehicles for a great spirit…No one could oppose them and they succeeded in everything they did – until the spirit left them…

In this history gods and spirits control the material world and exercise power over it. We will see too, how sometimes disembodied beings break through, unbidden…commerce with the spirits was always considered highly dangerous…

Genesis 1:26 [sic] is usually translated as ‘In the beginning God made heaven and earth’, but…The passage properly reads, ‘In the beginning the gods made heaven and earth’…

“In the beginning God [e]ĕ·lō·h-îm [Hebrew im = English s for plurality] created / bā·rā. the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

While “the gods” is a grammatically correct transliteration of the Hebrew word, as detailed in the post The Singularity, it is not an accurate translation of the abstract concept. The educated investigator will also find that Mark Booth’s English translation of the original Hebrew bara as “made” is not a reliable translation.

I use the King James version of the Bible for the ancient languages scholarship of the translators in the early 17th century. This reflection far more accurately the thoughts and intents of the original writers in contrast to modern translators which intentionally promote meanings familiar and acceptable to an entirely different culture.

The reliability of the King James’ translation of bara as “created” can be determined in two ways.

The King James functions as its own dictionary, translating the word bara by using synonyms in other passages. In every case we find the common elements of

  1. a powerful being
  1. by himself independently of outside forces
  2. using his energy
  3. to create something never before experienced.

These can be abstract concepts as well as concrete objects.

  1. Behold, I make a covenant…I will do marvels, such as have not been done / bara…in any nation: and all the people among which thou art shall see the work of the LORD” (Exodus 34:8-10)
    1. creating the nation of Israel.
  2. “And Moses saidif the LORD make / bara a new thing…then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD….And the earth opened her mouth…and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.” (Numbers 16:28-33)
    1. creating a new proof of Moses’ supernatural authentication as God’s spokesman.
  3. cut down / bara for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants…drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, and though they be strong.(Joshua 17:15-18)
    1. create a territory by yourself
  4. “Now the sons of Eli were sons of Belialand said to the man that sacrificed, Give flesh to roast…[or] I will take it by force…[i.e., the priests were taking away the part of the offering / sacrifice / barbecue that the man and his family should have for themselves to eat]…to make  / bara yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?” (I Samuel 2:12-17, 4:20-27)
    1. create abstract wealth in addition to very material fat cells. “he [Eli] was heavy.” (I Samuel 4:18)

We can reliably deduce from these examples of the Hebrew word bara that Genesis chapter 1 is reporting that a hyper dimensional being 1) containing within itself all energy 2) used its energy to form 3) something not previously in existence.

In scientific terminology: The Singularity Inflated, in a series of puffs like blowing up a balloon.

A different Hebrew word, asa, is defined in the King James as “made” i.e. “formed from existing material.” Again, this definition is reliably determined by comparison with other statements in the same document.

    1. “And God made / asa the firmament.” (Genesis 1:7)
    2. “the herb yielding / asa seed, and the fruit tree yielding / asa fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself” (Genesis 1:11)
    3. “And God made / asa two great lights…and [he made/ asa] the stars also. (Genesis 1:16)

This analysis of the distinction between 1) created by transforming energy and 2) made from existing material is substantiated within the Hebrew creation text. This can be considered the creation of DNA and reprogramming into diverse beings. Just guessing here.

And God 1) [first] created / bā·rā every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind…And [afterwards] God 2) made / asa [from existing material] the beast of the earth…and cattle…and every thing that creepeth upon the earth… God created / bara [a completely new thing] man in his own image.” (Genesis 1:21-27)

The Enuma Elish is extremely vague about the origins of the gods, as it must in order to bypass the Creator / Namer’s authority. We can see the origins of what is supposedly “purely” scientific, but is in actuality an alternate religion, of evolution of life from a primordial chaos of atoms.

In fact, our word and concept of “chaos” is exactly, unchanged, the Greek name for Apsu. We can see the origins of the Big Bang theory in the Sumerian account.

sumeriangodpantheonweb

While this dynastic chart lists all the Enuma Elish entities as “gods”, there is no evidence that the first six primeval creatures  – Apsu, Tiamat, Lahmu, Lahamu, Anshar, and Kishar – were ever worshipped or designated as deities.

However, Jesus himself said that stones could praise him. Perhaps the ancient Sumerian and Greek accounts of the earliest created primary elements of earth, air, wind and fire are not after all imaginatively anthropomorphic, but actual aware extensions of the Creator.

An / Anu belongs to the oldest generation of Mesopotamian gods and was originally the supreme deity of the Babylonian pantheon.. authority figure, decision-maker and progenitor. In heaven he allots functions to other gods, and can increase [or decrease] their status at will…On earth he confers kingship, and his decisions are regarded as unalterable…An / Anu is sometimes credited with the creation of the universe itself…Of the three levels of heaven, he inhabited the highest…An / Anu frequently receives the epithet “father of the gods.” .

3c-anu-sky-god

The Sumerian Anu is remarkably similar to the the Hebrew Ani / I Am.

It appears that the similarity between Anu and Ani is no coincidence.

A study of more than 6,000 languages from around the world shows a surprising relationship between certain words’ sounds and meaning … in two thirds of the world’s languages…

Until now, linguists thought that word sound and meaning were completely unrelated…

The new results directly contradict this.

Applying the principle of Occam’s Razor, AKA the KISS principle, we recognize that Anu in Sumerian is the same Ani in Hebrew, both referencing the same God.

“And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, Ani YHVH: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name YHVH was I not known to them.” (Exodus 6:2-6)

The link between I am and YHVH is found in its first occurrence, of over 6,000 occurrences, in the Bible.

“the LORD / YHVH God made the earth and the heavens” (Genesis 2:4)

In order for the LORD / YHVH to make anything, he had to existent prior to his creation. Therefore the name LORD / YHVH = I am, always existent, Eternal One.

And the Enuma Elish acknowledges this about Anu.

the one bringing into being, life-giver, giver of existence, creatorhe who brings to passperformer of his promisesthe one who is: i.e. the absolute and unchangeable one…the existing, ever living, as self-consistent and unchangeable…he will approve himself (give evidence of being, assert his being.

Anu retained his essential character and high status throughout Mesopotamian history.

“Indeed, when other gods are elevated to a position of leadership, they are said to receive the anûtu, the “Anu-power”. For example, in Enuma Elis the gods express Marduk’s authority over them by declaring:” Your word is Anu!” (Tablet IV, lines 4-6). Later An / Anu came to share or cede these functions.

Our Western culture is more familiar with the Greek correlates to the Sumerian pantheon, where the first class of gods are, like the Sumerian, anthropomorphized forces or conditions like light (Aether) and matter like gaseous sky (Uranus), liquid sea (Pontus), solid earth (Gaia) and fire erupting from under the earth via volcanoes (Tartarus). The Greeks enhance our understanding of what the ancients report by describing Nyx, who parallels Tiamat, as “the goddess of Night”, i.e. the worlds of darkness.

The first true Greek personal deity, the equivalent of the Sumerian Anu, is Ur-anu-s. He begets the first rank of hyper dimensional beings, what we call angels, and what the Greeks called the Titans.

Despite the fact that he is the named ancestor of all the rest of the equivalent of the Sumerian gods, no cult addressed directly to Uranus survived into classical times. The reason is obvious. Anu / Ur-anus / YHVH could not be destroyed, so he is simply ignored by his rebel sons who developed cults centered on themselves.

While it may seem a random distraction to learn about the ancient gods in this study, I suggest you bear in mind that these gods have been evoked throughout humanity’s history. Mankind continues to hope that supernatural beings from outer space.

Various analysts match the Sumerian gods differently with the other cultures’ gods because there is no Rosetta Stone to define their relationships for us. However, since the Hebrew religion is claimed to be a derivative of the Sumerian we can’t be faulted for using the Bible to define significant matches.

There is one massive difference. In the Enuma Elish’s version humanity was made to serve as the gods’ slaves, while in the Bible’s version humanity to be a beloved family.

A second massive difference is the use of existing material and life-force to make humans. Only the Bible reports transforming eternal energy into mass into which life energy is sourced from the inexhaustible supply of the Singularity Creator. The Enuma Elis makes it abundantly clear that the Sumerian gods have an exhaustible supply of energy. They need humans to exploit our sources of energy.

Marduk / Zeus…
3 opened his mouth addressing Ea / Lucifer…
5 “I will bring together blood to form bone, [the life is in the blood]
6 I will bring into being Lullû, whose name shall be ‘man’.
7 I will create Lullû—man [not “create” but “make” a man from existing material and life energy]
8 On whom the toil of the gods will be laid that they may rest.
9 I will skilfully alter the organization of the gods:
10 Though they are honoured as one, they shall be divided into two.” [supporters & opposers]
11 Ea answered, as he addressed a word to him,
12 Expressing his comments on the resting of the gods,
13 “Let one brother of theirs be given up. [“Theirs” not “ours” must be one of Lucifer’s enemies]
14 Let him perish that people may be fashioned.
15 Let the great gods assemble
16 And let the guilty one be given up that they may be confirmed.”
17 Marduk assembled the great gods…
20 The king addressed a word to the Anunnaki, [offspring of Anu]
23 Who is the one who instigated warfare…
24 and set battle in motion?
25 Let him who instigated warfare be given up
26 That I may lay his punishment on him; but you sit and rest.
27 The Igigi, the great gods [first order anthropomorphic beings, equivalent to Titans] answered him…
29 “Qingu is the one who instigated warfare…
31 They bound him, holding him before Ea,
32 They inflicted the penalty on him and severed his blood-vessels.
33 From his blood he (Ea) created mankind,
34 On whom he imposed the service of the gods, and set the gods free.
35 After the wise Ea had created mankind…
39 King Marduk divided the gods,
40 All the Anunnaki into upper and lower groups.
41 He assigned 300 in the heavens to guard the decrees of Anu
42 And appointed them as a guard. [Sounds like the firmament as detailed in Days of Thunder]
43 Next he arranged the organization of the netherworld.
44 In heaven and netherworld he stationed 600 gods.
45 After he had arranged all the decrees,
46 And had distributed [sources of] incomes [from territories] among the Anunnaki…
47 The Anunnaki opened their mouths
48 And addressed their lord Marduk,
49 “Now, lord, seeing you have established our freedom [from their Creator and ruler]
50 What favour can we do for you?
51 Let us make a shrine of great renown…
55 When Marduk heard this,
56 He beamed as brightly as the light of day,
57 “Build Babylon…
62 They raised the peak of Esagil, a replica of the Apsû. [The primeval waters]
63 They built the lofty temple tower of the Apsû [ziggurat, pyramid / watchtower to heaven]
64 And for Anu, Enlil / Adam, and Ea / Lucifer they established it . . as a [permanent] dwelling.
65 He sat in splendour before them…[note this singular He – Ea / Lucifer. Anu & Enlil are prisoners.]
67 After they had completed the work on Esagil
68 All the Anunnaki constructed their own shrines…
71 In the lofty shrine which they had built for his dwelling,
72 (Saying,) “This is Babylon, your fixed dwelling,
73 Take your pleasure here! Sit down in joy!…
77 They held a service in awesome Esagil.
78 The regulations and all the rules were confirmed:
79 All the gods divided the stations of heaven and netherworld.
80 The college of the Fifty great gods took their seats,
81 The Seven gods of destinies were appointed to give decisions…
95 The great gods assembled,
96 They exalted the destiny of Marduk and did obeisance.
97 They invoked a curse on themselves
98 And took an oath with water and oil, and put their hands to their throats.
99 They granted him the right to exercise kingship over the gods,
100 They confirmed him as lord of the gods of heaven and netherworld…
103 When he speaks, let the gods heed him,
104 Let his command be superior in upper and lower regions.
105 May the son [of god Ea/Lucifer], our avenger, be exalted,
106 Let his lordship be superior and himself without rival.
107 Let him shepherd the black-heads / Sumerians, his creatures…

The Enuma Elish parallels Genesis enough to provide detractors of the Bible with the claim that the Hebrews plagiarized the Sumerians while transferring credit to the Hebrew divinity. But the Hebrew scriptures clearly did not plagiarize what they alone state confidently – that a Supreme Pre-existent Being created the heavens and the earth with forethought and intent and objectives.

Good writing starts with a thesis on which everything else in the account rests.

The Bible’s thesis is that God created the material universe and everything in it. Every single element in the rest of the story, which builds systematically from The Beginning in Genesis through The End in Revelation, rests on this fundamental premise.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1)

By not naming a Creator, the Enuma Elish and Hindu accounts do not detract from the Hebrew Scriptures, but rather externally validate what the Hebrew God claims exclusively as his power.

Creation is clearly the basis for trusting which hyper dimensional being holds supreme power.

Only the Hebrew Torah documents a specific individual and clearly describes his actions at the beginning and continuing throughout human history, with multiple means of validating the reports from a variety of scientific disciplinesDocumentation of this power by eyewitnesses who saw first-hand what this sentient Being we call God did in the past is the only basis for believing what these same eyewitnesses say that he will do in the future.

Thus saith God the LORD / ha-El YHVH / the God Bringing Into Being,

  • he that created the heavens, and stretched them out;
  • he that spread forth the earth,
  • and that which cometh out of it;
  • he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein…

I am the LORD / Ani YHVH: that is my name / attribute: and my glory will I not give to another. Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them. (Isaiah 42:5-9)

Every statement in a religious creed – like “ye must be born again” – every theological belief  – like the virgin birth – derives its credibility and legitimacy from the first statement that God created, sustains, and controls the universe, and from proof of supernatural origin by fulfillment of prophecies.

What we find when we examine the Bible’s claims with an open mind not clouded by religious bias, is that its thousands’ years old historical documents reliably – amongst themselves – and with validity – in agreement with other sources – reported the latest scientifically coherent description of the universe as we know it.

As we know… How do we know anything?

In the scientific universe matter came before mind. Mind is an accident of matter…

If you believe that matter came before mind, you have to explain how a chance coming together of chemicals creates consciousness, which is difficult. If, on the other hand, you believe that matter is precipitated by a cosmic mind, you have the equally difficult problem of explaining how, of providing a working model.

What is consciousness?

The basic definition of consciousness…”characterized by the experience of perceptions, thoughts, feelings, awareness of the external world, and…self-awareness,” according to the Oxford Dictionary of Psychology.

Scientists simply don’t…know where it comes from, or what it’s made of…

we can’t exhaustively say other organisms, and even inanimate objects, don’t have consciousness. Humans relate to animals and can imagine, say, dogs and cats have some amount of consciousness because we see their facial expressions and how they appear to make decisions. But just because we don’t “relate to” rocks, the ocean, or the night sky, that isn’t the same as proving those things don’t have consciousness.

This is where a philosophical stance called panpsychism comes into play

“This claims consciousness is inherent in even the tiniest pieces of matter — an idea that suggests the fundamental building blocks of reality have conscious experience. Crucially, it implies consciousness could be found throughout the universe…”

One of the leading minds in physics, 2020 Nobel laureate and black hole pioneer Roger Penrose, has written extensively about quantum mechanics as a suspected vehicle of consciousness.

1. The Bible reports that mind / mental activity / energy came before matter, and that, due to the attributes of the Singularity that formed matter from its invisible self, consciousness is found throughout the universe.

the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now...waiting for…the redemption.” (Romans 8:22-23)

2. The Bible reports that matter was created by energy.

“…the Spirit of God moved [kinetic energy]…And God said [electromagnetic waves]…And God called…” (Gen 1)

The Hebrew word for “called” is qara / קָרָא  It covers a lot of applications for verbalizing, including bringing into existence a blessing or curse or even a living being. We can therefore understand that whenever the Hebrew God “calls” something by name, he imposes structure on energy.

Einstein is famous for the equation “E=mc2 which established that the Singularity of energy (E/c2) can be converted into matter. Recently physicists have empirically demonstrated this.

ecology-3-energy-and-ecology-ecological-pyramids-2-728

Theoretical physics has followed through on Einstein’s search for a Unified Field Theory (UFT) of the four hypothetical forces (gravitational, electromagnetic, strong and weak nuclear), adding into it a search for an explanation of the structure of matter for a Theory of Everything (TOE), leading to String Theory.

quote-in-string-theory-all-particles-are-vibrations-on-a-tiny-rubber-band-physics-is-the-harmonies-michio-kaku-63-52-95

Scientists are hopeful that string theory will unlock one of the biggest mysteries of the universe

String theory is a work in progress, so trying to pin down exactly what the science is, or what its fundamental elements are, can be kind of tricky. The key string theory features include:

  • All objects in our universe are composed of vibrating filaments (strings) and membranes (branes) of energy…

  • Several extra (usually unobservable) dimensions to the universe must exist…[Dark Matter?]

  • There are also possible…parallel universes…

  • scientists can use the fact that humanity exists as an explanation for certain physical properties of our universe.

  • Our universe could be “stuck” on a brane…

Put simply, String Theory postulates six higher dimensions in addition to the four common dimensions (3D + time). What appears to be solid matter is actually made up of:

  • 1 Planck length of vibrating energy loosely envisioned as a “string”.
  • The movement of the vibrating length traces width, and thus becomes 2D, like a drawing.
  • Further vibration within other dimensions such as height and length makes the energy field assume the form of a quantum particle.
  • Humans are four dimensional, therefore cannot accurately perceive the higher dimensions or time travel without the interjection of power from those dimensions. aid1088175-v4-728px-Draw-Pyramids-Step-6-Version-2Imagine a three dimensional pyramid passing through a two dimensional world. The lower dimensional beings will not be able to perceive anything but a flat triangle gradually enlarging unless a higher dimensional being provides a two dimensional drawing representing three dimensions. The same conditions hold true for 4 dimensional beings perceiving any aspects of a 10 dimensional reality. Do you get where I’m going with this? UFOs.
  • The idea of hidden dimensionality of space can seem occult.”
  • Spacetime is a sea of roiling shapes, quantum foam.”

3. dzorbThe Bible reports that seemingly solid substance is actually composed of invisible force fields.

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the [spoken] word [which we have above noted is a form of energy] of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrews 11:3)

4. The Bible reports that God not only made, but maintains the “worlds.” Note the plural, either a reference to sequential reconstructions of our current world as reported by other cultures such as the Hindus and Mayas, or a reference to a multiverse of String Theory.

“God…Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Sonby whom also he made the worldsand upholding all things by the word of his power,” (Hebrews 1:1-3)

Currently physicists are exploring how resonance, a quality of sound, holds together everything in the universe. Observation of the macro effect of sound vibrations on tiny particles of matter gives some insight into this micro subatomic physics phenomenon.

Investigative science validates religious revelation on any level of human understanding, from the simplest aboriginal culture recognizing the power of nature to the average first world educated person struck by the complexity of genetics to the genius scientists recognizing the limits of science to investigate reality.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handyworkDay unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.” (Psalm 19:1-3)

“that which may be known of God is manifest…For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead” (Romans 1:19-20)

Blind acceptance of a religious creed is not faith in God. Recognizing that the known world proves the existence, power and nature of God, in whom we then choose, or not, to place our faith for the unknowable and uncontrollable aspects of our own lives, is faith in God. The opposite of faith is determined blindness against a Super Being’s evident power and authority and willingness to communicate with humanity.

The Bible explains physical science as well as invisible, spiritual, other-dimensional states of being, the past as well as the future.  We are honest when we acknowledge that we can’t scientifically determine these states of being, we can only know whatever is communicated to us by someone who was there and capable himself of understanding the states of being – if he chooses to have a word with us.

We rationally choose to put our faith in both honestly conducted science and God’s revelation when we honestly examine the evidence provided in both realms.

For example, the pervasiveness of the ancient view of the firmament does indicate a common source, which all do claim to be divine revelation, validating the biblical account.

The same scientific principle that is used to establish the model of our solar system also disproves it.

…a fully developed helio [sun] centric model was developed by Aristarchus of Samos in the 3rd century BC, [but] these ideas were not successful in replacing the view of a static…Earth, and from the 2nd century AD the predominant model, which would be inherited by medieval astronomy, was the geo [earth] centric model described in Ptolemy‘s Almagest.

The Ptolemaic system was a sophisticated astronomical system that managed to calculate the positions for the planets to a fair degree of accuracy. Ptolemy himself, in his Almagest, points out that any model for describing the motions of the planets / [astronomical bodies] is merely a mathematical device, and since there is no actual way to know which is true, the simplest model that gets the right numbers should be used.

Galileo himself, the 17th century astronomer famous for popularizing heliocentricity, also discounted heliocentrity when he articulated Relativity.

Galileo reasoned that if a ship [think earth] moved uniformly on the sea [upperspace with the sun, moon and stars], a sailor could not distinguish between the situations either the ship [earth] is in motion and the sea  [upper space] is at rest or the ship [earth] is at rest and the sea [upper space] is in motion. In Galileo’s view- the only motion that is measurable is the relative motion between the ship and the sea; hence the term “Relativity” was manifested first ever.

The first step is to clarify what we mean by motion. Using Cartesian co-ordinate system in three dimensions, we can characterize any location by three co-ordinates of that space point. When we say that something is moving, what we mean is that its position relative to something else is changing. That is all motion is relative. In each case a frame of reference is part of the description of the motion.

In other words, the claims that the earth moves and the sun stands still is just a mental frame of reference placing the observer at the sun. It becomes obvious that heliocentricity is a spiritual frame of reference honoring the sun god, while geocentricity honors the Son of God who was given this world as a home base from which to rule all creation.

It is scientifically equally valid to claim that the earth stands still and the sun, moon and stars move around the earth from a frame of reference standing on the earth.

Einstein would later further develop this concept in his massive theories of General and Special Relativity in his effort to try to understand the nature of the material universe.

Are you more certain than Einstein that you already know everything you need to know about the universe, life and everything?
