7) Light and Life

Key precept: Humanity has an implacable enemy.

Stepping stone on the path to eternal life: Of all the available options, trust Creator God himself to show the way.

“In the beginning was the Word / Logos, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men…I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me.” (John 1:1-4, 14:6)

That is deep. How are we to make sense of these defining attributes of word, light, life and darkness, Father, Son?

As they say, “It’s all Greek to me.”

there’s a striking difference between the first three Gospels — Matthew, Mark, and Luke, which are known together as the Synoptic Gospels — and the Gospel of John...

the Synoptic Gospels were written about 20-30 years after Jesus’ death and resurrection — which is about a generation [of adulthood]…eyewitness accounts and sources would soon be scarce…

They were all written with the idea of intentionally publishing the life of Jesus for a specific audience before it was too late…

the Gospel of Mark was written…to a generation of Gentile Christians who had not been eyewitnesses to the events of Jesus’ life. For that reason, one of the main themes of the Gospel is the identification of Jesus as the “Son of God” (1:115:39)

Matthew’s Gospel was addressed primarily to a Jewish audience…One of the major themes of Matthew’s Gospel is the connection between Jesus and the Old Testament prophecies and predictions regarding the Messiah…

Luke…a Gentile…wrote his Gospel with the purpose of providing a historically accurate and reliable account of Jesus’ birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection (Luke 1:1-4)…to prove that Jesus’ story was true…

While Matthew focused on Jesus’ role as the long-expected salvation of the Jewish people, Luke’s Gospel emphasized Jesus role as Savior of all peoples…outcasts in the society of His day, including women, the poor, the sick, the demon-possessed, and more…a divine friend of sinners who came expressly to “seek and save the lost” (Luke 19:10)…

John wrote his account of Jesus’ life a full generation after the Synoptic authors had recorded their works…in a culture in which detailed accounts of Jesus’ life and ministry had already existed for decades, had been copied for decades, and had been studied and debated for decades…

…theological debates and heresies were becoming rampant — including Gnosticism and other ideologies that denied either Jesus’ divine nature or human standing. These controversies were the tip of the spear leading to the great debates and councils of the 3rd and 4th centuries (the Council of Nicaea, the Council of Constantinople, and so on) — many of which revolved around the mystery of Jesus’ nature as both fully God and fully man.

John took a lot of pains to make it crystal clear that Jesus was indeed God in human form.

These theological debates weren’t conducted by Robert’s Rules of Order. They were vicious attacks by power-hungry wolves finding easy prey among docile followers. The debates among religious Jews centered on whether or not he was “that Prophet, the hope of Israel” as prophesied in the Jewish scriptures. The debates among Gentiles hearers of the word was likewise centered on whether or not he fit into their scriptures.

This is evident in John’s explanation of the commonly used metaphorical and euphemistic language of life and death. In our own culture we typically reserve the term “died” when the utmost clarity is required in a medical or legal setting. We use the softer expression “passed away” or just “passed” in a social setting. We need to understand the 1st century euphemisms if we are going to understand John’s message.

In many ancient Indo-European languages there is a great number of metaphorical and euphemistic expressions referring to the phenomenon of death and dying. Many of these metaphors are the result of tabus, and others have various origins in the different imageries that the Indo-European peoples head built around the idea of death, the concept of afterlife, and related beliefs….

Light in general and sun-light in particular enjoy some of the most prominent and most powerful symbolisms in many cultures. Sun is the heavenly light that man sees from the very beginning, indeed it is the stuff of life, what keeps life on earth…In Indo-European the sun and sun-light occupies prime position, the highest seat in the pantheon and religious imagery, an idea which is reflected in the name of the prime god Zeus (e.g. Gk. Ζευς, Skt. dydus, Lat. Iu(p)piter, etc., all from IE *dyeus ‘heavenly light, day light’). Many myths and many types of symbolism are associated with the sun and the heavenly light, many praises have been devoted to this primary natural phenomenon, and its magic and power have been immortalized in literature, art, and philosophy. It is, therefore, understandable to find close associations of light with life and life-source, and its lack with death, absence of life, and misfortune. Life, like truth, shines in the bright sun-light, while the opposite finds expression in darkness, in misty and foggy environments…
Light is a cosmic power, but also the power of life…

Thus, we have the death of a man as deep darkness, or seen as a cloud or mist that casts a veil of darkness over
his eyes…

In Homer…we find, among others, the following euphemistic and metaphorical expressions associating death with darkness or removal from light:

darkness covered his eyes (II. 4.461)
dark night covered his eyes (II. 5.659)
hated darkness seized him (II. 5.47)
to leave the light of the sun (II. 18.11)
the dark cloud of death encompassed them (Od. 4.180)

We see in John…Greek pagan concepts and philosophies as a tool for communicating Jesus as the Logos to a Christianized Gentile audienceHeraclitus of Ephesus used the word Logos around 500 BCE to describe his concept of the regularity with which the universe seemed to operate. The universe was a divine machine and Heraclitus credited the Logos (literally the reason) as the ultimate rationale which secretly operated the universe and the heavens above. [Emphases added.]

The Logos was…responsible for keeping the ratio of all things in proportion, much like the balance of Eastern yin (dark) and yang (light). The cult of Hermes made use of this to describe their Hermetic corpus written about in the Poimandres:

“The [Poimandres] writer fell into a deep and heavy trance, in which there appeared to him a being who introduced himself as Poimandres (Shepherd of Men), “the Mind of Authority.” Poimandres then shows the mystic a vision, in which he sees a great light and a great darkness, respectively reality and matter. From the light comes “a Holy Logos,” …the “shining Son of God,” who proceeds from Mind itself…”

By the beginning of the Common Era, the Logos was a deeply felt and intricate part of Greek thought…It was well established that the Logos was a divinely felt presence of God, but no philosopher could find a more practical implementation for how the Logos actually mattered to humans and their lives. The man who would provide this meaning and give personified substance to the Logos at the beginning of the Common Era was Philo.

Philo of Alexandria (30 BCE – 45 CE)…was a Jew of the dispersion, and observed the mitzvot [religious rites like Passover], yet like a lot of cosmopolitan Alexandrians of the time, worshipped the Greek gods too. Philo believed that the two worlds were not irreconcilable and the Logos was his attempt at melding Yahwism with the Greek vision of God…[who]believed that God was inherently “unknowable.” He was beyond human understanding and all attempts to describe God would end in failure. However…If one could achieve the Hermetic level of mystical awareness as chronicled in the Poimandres, one will be able to experience God.

Yahweh, however, was much different in that he was easily accessible and constantly busied himself with the details of everyday Jewish life…Yahweh was the opposite of the philosophic construct of the Greek Unknowable; he was nearby and could be reached easily just by calling out to him.

Philo’s work bridged this gap, postulating an ousia of God, or a singular essence, which is the unknowable, and an energeiai (energy) / Spiritwhich was the very thoughts of God. God’s energy could interact and touch the lives of mortals despite the remote ousia which was inaccessible to man…The Logos was a mediator for God; making it possible to realize the energy of God, and thus, by extension, the impossible ousia of God Himself…

Philo’s Word was extremely popular among Jews and non-Jews alike, successfully splitting God into multiple personifications that pagan worshippers would later refine further from Bi- to Trinitarian concepts that we are familiar with today. We first see the application of the philosophy of the Logos in the prologue of the Gospel of John which begins by proclaiming Philo’s triumph:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God …. The same was in the beginning with God … and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father [God]…” (John 1:1-14)

John has promulgated the Logos in a radically new way…

Jesus’ appeal to readers of Philo’s synthesis of Greek philosophy with Jewish religion can be discerned in John’s account, such as the following. Bear in mind that being named “Philip” indicates that this Jewish man was Hellenized, most likely by his parents. In a Judea recently ravaged by the Greek warlord Antiochus Epiphanes, naming a boy after the Greek warlord father of of the ultimate Greek warlord Alexander the Great is the equivalent in our culture of naming a boy Adolf Hitler. Interesting that Philip is mentioned by name 11 times in the book of John, and was among the first to minister to non-Jews – Greek widows, the Samaritans, the Ethiopian eunuch, and outreach in the Gentile city of Caesarea.

much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord / YHVH. The Pharisees therefore said among themselves…behold, the world is gone after him. And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast: The same came therefore to Philip…and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus…Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light...He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me [YHVH]. And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. (John 12:12-35)

The Essenes wrote extensively about the Children of Light who were constantly engaged in a battle against their nemesis, the Wicked Priest who was of darkness. The contrasts of those who walk in the light and those lost in the dark are played heavily in John….The woman at the well in Samaria is told that “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life” (4:13-14)…John’s intended readers who are already well-versed in Philo’s allegory are well aware of the spiritual water that Jesus is referring to…

Early Christians most likely practiced then-common spiritual journeys that were widespread and written extensively about in Persian, Egyptian, Babylonian, Greek, Roman, Jewish and Christian literature…religious contemporaries from whom the Christians drew their converts, desired to verify their religion by making a spiritual journey and seeking the divinity on the higher planes of existence where he dwelled…unless one undertake this journey, they cannot achieve everlasting life…being “born again” is necessary [except a man be born again…of…the spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God” (John 3:3-5)].

Some modern Christian believers are familiar with this concept of being born again through a spirit and regard it as unique to Christianity…the pagan Mithras Liturgy, a guidebook of sorts that assists in the Eucharist and prepares the sojourner for his heavenly journey…advises the seeker of the Sun-god (father of Mithras) to pray saying:

“[F]irst beginning of my beginning, …spirit of spirit, the first spirit in me, …now if it be your will, …give me over to immortal birth and, following that, to my underlying nature, so that, after the present need which is pressing me exceedingly, I may gaze upon the immortal beginning with the immortal spirit, …that I may be born again in thought.”

Many Greek and Roman texts survive which describe similar transformations that are necessary before one may ascend to heaven. In John, we find this merging between this unique Mithraic Eucharist ritual and the Jewish Messiah of Jesus. John’s Jesus acts as the Mithraic communicator in the heavens (where Jesus was born and lives) and has Jesus promise to send the Holy Spirit as the vehicle for such a heavenly bonding (16:7)…

Jesus is made to condemn the Jews as Satanic by John, while the [Gentile] Christians are now the Essenic ideals of the Children of Light with a special gnosis of revelation in understanding the Logos in its true form. John’s nonhuman “superman” loses several qualities that we are familiar with from the Synoptic tradition…To John’s author…Satan is obviously no match against God and John’s intended reader would be confused over such an idea. By the time John was first written at the end of the first century, the tales of Jesus grew to such an extent that Jesus was now fully transformed into a Hellenized god.

OK, obviously this is written by a non-believer in the biblical Jesus. I deliberately quote from non-believer sources to strengthen witness validity and broaden the knowledge base for evidence. In this case, I used a source on Greek philosophy and its impact, like a high-speed car crash, on twisting and distorting Christianity, which is well known to have been immense in the early days of Christianity.

there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.” (II Peter 2:1-2)

John certainly had an overwhelmingly Gentile audience, as evidenced by his constant explanations about Jewish customs.

“the passover, a feast of the Jews…” (John 6:4)

But John’s failure to include evidence of Jesus’ humanity in no way supports the claim that he deliberately removed them from “his” version of Christianity. They were well-known from the existing gospels written by his colleagues. and he refers his readers to these Jewish witnesses to back up what he is reporting.

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in THIS book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ [Greek translation for Jewish Messiah], the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” (John 20:31)

Most of all, John rests his case and directs his readers back to existing Jewish scriptures.

“When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.” (John 2:22)

“ye have not his word abiding in you…Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.” (John 5:38-40)

“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, Of a truth this is the Prophet.” (John 7:37-40)

Why? Because he fulfills Jewish prophetic scripture.

“John [the Baptist] bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me…No man hath seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him…when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him…What sayest thou of thyself? He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the LORD, as said the prophet Esaias. And they which were sent were of the Pharisees [fundamentalist scripturally literate Jews].” (John 1:15-24)

The scriptures on which both John and Mithraism base their theology date back into the mists of time. Therefore, the most likely explanation for the parallels between them is that they both drew from the same primary source.

Mithraism dates back over 4,000 years and is likely much older. It is one of the most ancient religions predating most all of the other living religions on Earth… [Yet, oddly enough] There is little notice of the Persian god in the Roman world until the year AD 136 onward…This renewal of interest is not easily explained. The most plausible hypothesis seems to be that Roman Mithraism was practically a new creation, wrought by a religious genius who may have lived as late as 100 AD and who gave the old traditional Persian ceremonies a new Platonic interpretation that enabled Mithraism to become acceptable to the Roman world…

While John lived within the same time frame as the “religious genius who may have lived as late as 100 AD,” he can’t be that religious genius. He is universally acknowledged to be a founder of Christianity in his lifetime.

my favorite Christian Apologist of all time is the Apostle John. You might say, I thought Christian Apologetics was a modern day field of study…

The early first century Church was under attack right away by those who wanted to add to, take away from, or correct the teachings of Jesus…The New Testament as a whole was written…to keep the teachings of Jesus intact…

John, a close companion of Jesus and probably the only remaining original disciple, saw the need for a clear and specific description of Jesus’ identity and ministry…

John wrote to all believers, both Jew and Gentile, in the early Church with a primary purpose of proving that Jesus is the Christ, the promised Messiah, and the pre-existent divine Son of God…God incarnate with evidence of His authority over all of creation…

John writes his Gospel like a good defense attorney and in his opening statement (1:1-2) discloses Jesus’ identity from the very beginning (Compare with Genesis 1:1)…

John then focuses on specific miracles that would reveal Jesus’ divine nature and his life-giving mission…

Notice that all of these miracles are “apologetic” demonstrations of Jesus’ ability to control the science of the natural order. Only God the Creator could do this. For example, his power over chemistry (water to wine), power over biology (healing disease and disability), power over the laws of nature (walking on water), and finally his power over death both physical and spiritual (raising Lazarus and his own resurrection).

In every chapter John focuses on Jesus’ deity being revealed. The most convincing account is found in John 8:58: Jesus said to them: “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.”

John provides evidence that Jesus Himself claimed to be God by revealing a series of “I AM” statements that correspond to Old Testament language and prophecy: (Great article on this at gotquestion.org)…

In addition, we can trace the chain of custody of John’s teachings through his disciples starting with Ignatius (ca. AD 35-117) and Polycarp (69–155) who taught Irenaeus (AD 120-202) who taught Hippolytus (AD 170-236). According to J. Warner Wallace, “John’s students recorded his teachings and identified the sources for later generations. Long before the Codex Sinaiticus was first penned or the Council of Laodicea formalized the canon, the New Testament was established as a reliable eyewitness.” The chain of custody can be further corroborated and established through the other Apostles (Peter, Paul and Mark) and their disciples.

Contrast the trajectory of Mithraism.

Today the [Persian] religion known as Zoroastrianism appears to be the only direct descendant of the [Persian] Mithraic religion remaining.

When Alexander the Great conquered the Persian Empire in about 330 BC…the worship of Mithra…never became popular in the Greek world, because the Greeks never forgot that Mithra had been the god of their enemies the Persians…

Mithra appears suddenly in Roman archaeology in the last quarter of the 1st century AD. Mithra was the most widely venerated god in the Roman Empire at the time of Jesus. Mithraism was essentially a soldier’s religion: Mithra, its hero, was a divinity of fidelity, manliness, and bravery; the stress it laid on good fellowship and brotherliness, its exclusion of women. Known as Mithras in the Roman Empire during the 2nd and 3rd century’s AD, this deity was honored as the patron of loyalty to the emperor. After the acceptance of Christianity by the emperor Constantine in the early 4th century, Mithraism rapidly declined.

I put it to you that this militaristic religion did not in fact decline. As this study proceeds we will discover that Constantine’s Christian state religion is simply a cover, shall we say a shroud (get it? see above) for Mithraism.

In a Roman context, Mithras was a sun god (called sol invictus, “the invincible sun”), a “bull-slayer,” “cattle-thief” and the savior of initiates of his cult…the secret bond amongst its members have suggested the idea that Mithraism was Masonry amongst the Roman soldiers.

By the Roman legionnaires, Mithra—or Mithras, as he began to be known in the Greco-Roman world—was called “the divine Sun, the Unconquered Sun.” He was said to be “Mighty in strength, mighty ruler, and greatest king of gods! O Sun, lord of heaven and earth, God of Gods!” Mithra was also deemed “the mediator” between heaven and earth, a role often ascribed to the god of the sun…

The god of the Unconquered Sun, Sol Invictus, was the official sun god of the later Empire of Rome. The Emperor Aurelian reintroduced the sun god and cult in 274 AD. The Emperor Constantine, also known as Constantine the Great, made the practice of Christianity legal in Rome, but continued to have his coins inscribed with the words, “Sol Invicto Comiti”, which means Committed to the Invincible Sun.

The birthday of the unconquered sun was celebrated at the Roman festival of Dies Natalis Solis Invicti on December 25, and it is often theorized that Constantine had a hand in selecting this day as the celebration date of the birth of Christ as well…

Seemingly, Constantine…viewed Sol Invictus as very similar to the Christian god. His adoption of Christianity in the Roman Empire was more likely a matter of political strategy than religious conviction.

The creation of the world is the central episode of Mithraic mythology. According to the myths, the Sun God sent his messenger, the Raven [contrast the Spirit dove], to Mithra and ordered him to sacrifice the Bull. Mithra executed the order…a great miracle happened.

The White Bull was metamorphosed into the Moon; the cloak of Mithra was transformed into the vault of the sky, with the shining planets and fixed stars; from the tail of the bull and from his blood sprang the first ears of grain and the grape; from the genitals of the animal ran the holy seed which was received by a mixing bowl. Every creature on earth was shaped with an admixture of the holy seed. One Mithraic hymn begins: “Thou hast redeemed us too by shedding the eternal blood.”

The plants and the trees were created. Day and Night began to alternate, the Moon started her monthly cycle, the Seasons took up their round dance through the Year, and thus Time was created. But, awakened by the sudden light, the creatures of the dark emerged from earth...A serpent…the struggle between Good and Evil began: thus is the condition of man’s life….

Is it not flamingly obvious that the Roman Mithras is the rival to the Christian Savior, the Antichrist to the Christ of the Bible?

We find the account of the emergence of the serpent into human affairs in the Bible.

Bringer of Light / Life

There was one son of God who was made so closely in God’s likeness that he was named after God’s key attribute. Compare the Adversary’s description to the description of God himself, God’s High Priest Melchizedek in whom the Spirit of God resides (more on him later), and the new Jerusalem / human bride in which God resides forever.

  • O Lucifer / Bringer of light, son of the morning!” (Isaiah 14:12)
    • God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” (I John 1:5)
    • In the beginning was the Word…the Word was God…And the light shineth in darkness…That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”” (John 1:1-9)
    • “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed…a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” (II Peter 1:19-20)
    • “unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings;” (Malachi 4:2)
  • “Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold…thou wast upon the holy mountain of God.” (Ezekiel 28:12-14)

    • “…behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.” (Revelation 4:2-3)
    • “as the LORD commanded Moses. And he made the breastplate of cunning work, like the work of the ephod; of gold, blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen. It was foursquareAnd they set in it four rows of stones: the first row was a sardius, a topaz, and a carbuncle: this was the first row. And the second row, an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond. And the third row, a ligure, an agate, and an amethyst. And the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper: they were inclosed in ouches of gold in their inclosings.(Exodus 39:7-14)
    • “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband…the bride, the Lamb’s wife…Having the glory of God…garnished with all manner of precious stones…jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald, sardonyx, sardius, chrysolyte, beryl, topaz, chrysoprasus, jacinth, amethyst, pearls.” (Revelation 21:2-24)

Lucifer was flying high.  Then he heard about God’s plan to promote the powerless mortal people made with bodies of clay, i.e. “mud people“, above the mighty immortal angels, to make us God’s family and heirs, give us dominion and power and glory while keeping the likes of him mere servants.

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?  For

  • thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and [then, yet] hast crowned him with glory and honour.
  • Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands;
  • thou hast put all things under his feet:” (Psalm 8:4-6)+

Lucifer’s rivalry with Adam is laid out for us in Sumerian documents, where he is called Enki, a brother to Adam who is called Enlil, who with their father are the three most powerful gods.

Enlil is considered in most traditions to be the first-born son of An (Vase Inscription of Lugalzagesi, Wang 2011: 134), and brother of the goddess Aruru (Enmerkar and En-suhgir-ana.

This statement should trigger a query. As was described in the preceding post In Earth As In Heaven, the celestial beings commonly known as angels are also sons of God, and they preceded humans. So isn’t Enki the first born? As the account continues, Enki is certainly matched with the biblical Lucifer, so it’s not a matter of confusing similar names.

Under the ancient law of primogeniture, usually the literal first born son does inherit the birthright. as well as, in a spiritual society, hyperdimensional blessings of the father.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath 1) blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us [not angels] in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, In whom we [not angels] have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace…In whom 2) also we have obtained an inheritance [birthright], being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:” (Ephesians 1:3-11)

“Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.” (Galatians 3:6-9)

However, if the first born son proves himself unworthy of carrying on the father’s legacy, the father can chose to depose him and transfer the inheritance to another who has proven himself worthy. In a process similar to adoption, another son is legally elevated into the first rank birth order and takes on the title of first born. A brief review of history proves the value of having a process in place to ensure that the ruler of a society is a good ruler.

“When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” (Proverbs 29:2)

We see many examples of the transfer of resources and authority to a more worthy bearer of responsibility in the long and tumultuous life of Jacob / Israel, starting with his determination to wrest both the birthright and the blessing from his older, profane, twin brother Esau.

Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to wife…and Rebekah his wife conceived…And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger…And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob…And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents…And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright. (Genesis 25:19-34)

“when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him…go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. And Rebekah…spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother…And Rebekah…gave the savoury meat and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob. And he came unto his father, and said…I am Esau thy first born; I have done according as thou badest me: arise, I pray thee, sit and eat of my venison, that thy soul may bless me….so he blessed him….God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother’s sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.

And it came to pass, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacob, and Jacob was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting…And Isaac trembled very exceedingly, and said, Who? where is he that hath taken venison, and brought it me, and I have eaten of all before thou camest, and have blessed him? yea, and he shall be blessed. And when Esau heard the words of his father, he cried with a great and exceeding bitter cry, and said unto his father…Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me?…And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept. And Isaac his father answered and said unto him, Behold, thy dwelling shall be the fatness of the earth, and of the dew of heaven from above; And by thy sword shalt thou live, and shalt serve thy brother; and it shall come to pass when thou shalt have the dominion, that thou shalt break his yoke from off thy neck. And Esau hated Jacob because of the blessing wherewith his father blessed him: and Esau said in his heart, The days of mourning for my father are at hand; then will I slay my brother Jacob.” (Genesis 27)

Although Jacob used subtlety and deception to obtain the birthright and the blessing, both Isaac and the LORD confirmed that Isaac’s words were legally binding.

“Jacob have I loved / identified with, but Esau have I hated / rejected to be identified withprofane person…who for one morsel of meat sold his birthrightafterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance.” (Romans 9:13, Hebrews 12:16-17)

Esau’s lack of repentance, i.e. refusal to see things God’s way, is most evident in the Edomites / Arabs perpetual determination to destroy Israel.

This contrasts markedly with Jacob’s sons. Initially they were as hostile against their favored brother Joseph, as Esau was against his. The difference is that they acknowledged God, repented of their mortal animosity against their brother Joseph, and accepted more than one reshuffle in brotherly prerogatives.

And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us. And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required.” (Genesis 42:21-22)

Undoubtedly Jacob based his last will and testament on his own observations of the leadership qualities demonstrated by his heirs. This is stated explicitly in condemning certain sons. Judah’s personal growth and development into a righteous leader who rises up during crises can be tracked for confirmation of the rational for Jacob’s choice on which son to bestow the blessing, i.e. rulership.

“And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you…

  • Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power: Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch.
  • [Going down the pecking order] Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations…Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
  • Judah, thou art he whom thy brethren shall praise [not your older brothers]: thy hand shall be in the neck of thine enemies; thy father’s children shall bow down before thee.” (Genesis 49:1-8)

Jacob also elevates two grandsons into the higher rank of sons by legally adopting them. This results in each of them inheriting a full share of the birthright land split between Jacob’s sons, rather than splitting Joseph’s share between them.

“Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but forasmuch as he defiled his father’s bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright. For Judah prevailed above his brethren [was granted the blessing], and of him came the chief ruler; but the birthright was Joseph’s:)” (I Chronicles 5:1-2)

“And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and

  1. blessed me, And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.
  2. And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.”

Jacob continues to disrupt the natural order by granting the birthright – the land – to Joseph, instead of packaging it with the blessing to Judah, and then again, granting this birthright to the younger of Joseph’s two sons,

“And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim’s head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh’s head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn. And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head. And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.” (Genesis 48:3-19)

This is demonstrated in Ephraim’s supremacy when united Israel split, keeping the majority of the people and the name Israel with the tribe of Ephraim rather than Judah.

“And Jeroboam…an Ephrathite…was a mighty man of valour: and Solomon seeing the young man that he was industrious, he made him ruler over all the charge of the house of Joseph…the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him in the way; and…they two were alone in the field: And Ahijah caught the new garment that was on him, and rent it in twelve pieces: And he said to Jeroboam, Take thee ten pieces: for thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, Behold, I will rend the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon, and will give ten tribes to thee: (But he shall have one tribe for my servant David’s sake, and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel:)” (I Kings 11:26-32)

The key quality demonstrated by every individual God chooses to be his son is not Luciferian perfection, but acknowledgement of imperfection and child-like dependence on the Father and submission to his will.

“Then thou spakest in vision to thy holy one, and saidst, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of the people. I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him…He shall cry unto me, Thou art my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation. Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.” (Psalm 89:19-27)

Adam is the first son chosen and elevated by God to the status of heir to his holdings, both in possessions and authority.

“For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?  And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world [both the first sinless human Adam, then the last sinless human Adam], he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.  And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever…” (Hebrews 1:5-8)

Thou art worthy…for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.” (Revelation 5:9-13)

We can get a sense of Lucifer’s reaction by reviewing what happened when King David elevated Solomon, born not from a princess but a woman of a trashed reputation, as his heir over his older, more experienced and highly politically connected brothers. Adoni-jah / My lord is YHVH revolted, along with his supporters who imagined themselves being raised to higher levels of power in the new administration.

Enki’s / Lucifer’s reaction to his unexpected demotion was, likewise, rebellion. It is documented in the book of Job, which predates Moses’ compilation of human history in Genesis.

“Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said…Now a thing was secretly brought to me, and mine ear received a little thereof. In thoughts from the visions of the night, when deep sleep falleth on men, Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake. Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up: It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying, Shall mortal man be more just [competent to pass judgment so put in charge] than God? shall a man be more pure [the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but truth] than his maker? Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay [easily and routinely destroyed, mortal], whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth? They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it. Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.” (Job 4)

As an aside, the extant angelic history in Job’s documentation of creation, as well as Enoch’s, offers an explanation as to why Moses did not include this in his brief review of creation in Genesis 1-2. Repetition was unnecessary, it was a sidebar to human history, and it would bulk out the Bible even more beyond the massive tome it was destined to be.

Regarding the reliability of the book of Enoch, which is quoted verbatim by Jude (Enoch 1:9):

Michael Knibb, whose translation I have used to produce this book, studied all available manuscripts and sources, and it is clear that this book was well known and studied in many countries well before the time of Jesus. The earliest known surviving fragments and quotations in various languages show that this is the same book, and that the Ethiopians have preserved it well.

In the end I was convinced that the book is really Enoch’s true account of otherwise forgotten events that occurred in early times; events that we have no other surviving records of.

Enoch left us a book that describes people of an advanced culture; blond-haired people that Enoch’s people considered to be Angels of God, and it was written on the angels’ instruction.

The standard academic view seems to be that some slightly demented religious fanatic wrote the book – not long before the earliest provable fragments, (200 or 300BC). I think it is impossible to support this view. Such an author would have to be able to write the entire book from the point of view of a person who knows nothing of countries with names, or religions with names. Then he goes on to describe the Angels as blond men, who ran away from Heaven in order to be promiscuous with women. I don’t believe this is the sort of world view that would have been well received or widely accepted anywhere in 200 BC. This plus the all too accurate prophecies are probably the reasons why it was ‘lost’ by the religions that used to regard it as holy.

I concluded that the book is probably what it appears to be; well preserved, ancient and genuine. Enoch was the great-grandfather of Noah, and father of Methuselah, and his book gives a unique view of the world before the

As does the Sumerian account of the pre-flood world, according to which Enki / Lucifer set out to seize power from Enlil / Adam. “Enlil, the great Kur, has empowered you [Enki].” “The great Kur,” means “foreigner” or “alien,” turning the tables on what we humans call Enki’s kind.

And, biblically speaking, Adam / Enlil did empower Enki / the great Kur, when he submitted himself to the serpent instead of God in the matter of eating the fruit of the tree.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?” (Romans 6:16)

It takes infinitely good judgment and wisdom to process data and devise solutions to multiple and competing needs simultaneously, which surely humans don’t possess.  Most of all, it requires use of the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, because truth is reality, and as soon as you act on a falsehood you aren’t dealing with reality, and the inevitable results clash with reality, I.e. are dysfunctional and destructive.  Anyone capable of maintaining the perfect balance of forces in nature has to be absolutely right-acting (righteous), all-knowing, and 100% accurate in judgment calls. Lucifer questioned God’s judgment in preferring humans, who compare so unfavorably to angels.

What is man, that he should be clean? And he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?  Behold, he [God] putteth no trust in his saints [sinless ones, angels]…How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?” (Job 15:14-16)

“How then can man be justified with God? Or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? Behold…the stars [angels] are not pure in his sight. How much less man, that is a worm?” (Job 25:4-6)

Lucifer’s pride was his undoing. He couldn’t accept God’s decision to promote frail, imperfect humans above the mighty stars. Rule creation? Seriously?  He revolted against his ruler, like Joab against King David.

Thou was perfect in thy ways from the day thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. (Ezekiel 28:12-15)

“How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! …For thou hast said in thine heart: (Isaiah 14:12-14)

  • I will ascend into heaven, i.e. lay hold of the knowledge of heaven, be omniscient.
    • “I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy. Who hath ascended up into heaven…?” (Proverbs 30:3-4)
    • “O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.” (Psalm 139:1-6)
  • I will exalt my throne above the stars of God, i.e. rule over the other stars / sons of God.
    • “After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman…and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.” (Esther 3:1)
  • I will sit also [upon the mount of the congregation,] i.e. sit while everyone else either bows or stands out of respect, be honored by everyone else, as still is the case in a court of law when the judge enters and takes his seat.
    • “And all the king’s servants, that were in the king’s gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.” (Esther 3:2)
  • I will ascend above…the clouds, i.e be the judge of what is right and wrong, bringing  judgment of wrongdoers in the clouds.
    • “…can any understand the spreadings of the clouds…For by them judgeth he the people…(Job 36:29-31)
    • “The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof. Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne. A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about…worship him, all ye gods.” (Psalm 97:1-7)
    • “Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are! And thou sayest, [note, the following questions are by a sceptic] How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud? Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; [statement of denial by one who doesn’t want God to see what he does] and he walketh in the circuit of heaven [he oversees all]. [Rebuttal by a believer.] Acquaint now thyself with him, and be at peace: thereby good shall come unto thee…lift up thy face unto God. Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows. Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” (Job 22:12-17)
    • “Behold, he [Yeshua] cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.” (Revelation 1:7)
  • I will be like the most High.” i.e. in the full attributes of power and authority.
    • “…who in the heaven can be compared unto the LORD? who among the sons of the mighty can be likened unto the LORDGod is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence of all them that are about him. LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee?” (Psalm 89:6-8)

It is commonly reported that Lucifer determined to take God’s place, but if we pay attention we realize that the prerogatives Lucifer wanted to seize for himself were being freely given to human sons of God.

  • Gifted with knowledge
    • “When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men….apostles…prophets …evangelists…pastors and teachers…till we all come in…the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man.” (Ephesians 4:8-13)
  • Rule over the angels
    • “…we shall judge angels.” (I Corinthians 6:3)
  • Sit in honor
    • “…God…made us sit together in heavenly places in Yahweh’s Chosen Savior/Messiah Yeshua/Christ Jesus…” (Ephesians 2:4-6)
  • Ascend above the clouds
    • “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in The Chosen One / Messiah / Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” (I Thessalonians 4:16-17)
  • Identified with God
    • “…in him [Messiah] dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power.” (Colossians 2:9-10)

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of YHVH’s Savior / Jesus our Lord; According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” (II Peter 1:2-4)

“In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began.” (Titus 1:2)

Notice that these promises are made from the beginning of human history. Not just to Christians in the last two thousand years. To all the people of the world.

The Bible’s reports on Lucifer are validated by other sources, including, ironically, the Mystery religions. Turning once again to The Secret History of the World by Mark Booth.

Creation was re-enacted in the Mystery schools, a drama in three acts.

The first act dramatized Saturn’s oppression of Mother Earth. This was called the Age of Saturn.

The second act dramatized the birth of the Sun and his protection of Mother Earth. This…was remembered as the Age of the Sun…

the third act…Earth and sun separate. From now on the sun’s life-giving rays, rather than illuminating it from inside, shine down upon the earth from the sky…the whole of its watery surface is covered by Adam and Eve and their flowery, gently fluttering progeny.

Suddenly…the peaceful pastoral scene was invaded by a glistening alien life+-form…a snake…coiled itself ever more tightly around Adam’s vegetable trunk…life on earth moved painfully to the next stage of evolution. Because the story of the serpent entwined around the tree contains the clearest possible image of the earth’s transition from vegetable to animal life.

brain-eating-amoebaUh, no, this is not the clearest possible image of the earth’s transition from vegetable to animal life, since the same author in the same book states that fish were the first animals to evolve, and evolution claims that even simpler one-celled organisms like amoebas were the first to evolve. Mr. Booth has just leapt ahead of himself in a contorted (that’s a pun) attempt to reconcile the biblical account with its spin-off false gods’ interpretations, and most of all, with the idea of godless evolution. Like a python, he has bitten off more than he can chew.

Since the eighteenth century…the Church has tried to reconcile the Genesis account of creation with the findings of science. This has been a doomed enterprise, because it is based on a modern, anachronistic reading of Genesis.

Genesis does not consider evolution objectively as a modern scientist does, piecing together bits of geological, anthropological and archeological evidence impartially and objectively evaluated.

OK, so Mr. Booth once again demonstrates his lack of impartiality and objectivity. Evolution has never been established as a scientific theory, it is simply speculation that clings to a belief despite refutation after refutation in the fields of science Mr. Booth deceptively lists as proving evolution.

The story of Genesis is a subjective account of the way humanity evolved, what it felt like.

OK, Mr. Scientist. How do you know that? Oh, wait, you are lumping Genesis in with your ancient Mystery religions. So what you are telling us is that the Mystery religions provide an imaginary account of how the world as we know it came to be. Just like evolution.

Again and again we will see that the esoteric account is not necessarily inconsistent with the scientific one…it views the same reality from a different point of view.

Reality? From the beginning of his book Mr. Booth has stated that one has to use their imagination to understand and accept this point of view. Evolution’s lack of reality is well portrayed in the popular children’s program Dino Dana, where a nine year old girl is given the power to imagine dinosaurs into real life.

But shouldn’t adults be more discerning? We have no clue about color, and very limited ideas about behaviors since all we have to work with are fossilized bones, and not many of those either. Even Evolution acknowledges that our best clues regarding the appearance and behaviors of ancient reptiles are found in our contemporary reptiles, like the Komodo dragons.

The following quotes are from scientific articles, not Bible apologists.

The Bone Wars, also known as the Great Dinosaur Rush,[1] was a period of intense and ruthlessly competitive fossil hunting…marked by a heated rivalry between Edward Drinker Cope (of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia) and Othniel Charles Marsh (of the Peabody Museum of Natural History at Yale). Each of the two paleontologists used underhanded methods to try to outdo the other in the field, resorting to bribery, theft, and the destruction of bones. Each scientist also sought to ruin his rival’s reputation and cut off his funding, using attacks in scientific publications…

The paleontologists had a habit of making hasty telegrams eastward describing their finds, only publishing fuller accounts after returning from trips. Among the new specimens described by the men were UintatheriumLoxolophodonEobasileusDinoceras, and Tinoceras. The problem was that many of these finds were not uniquely different from each other…

So they named a new dinosaur species last week…

Wonder how long this one will last?

News broke last week that paleontologists have determined that a set of bones found in Big Bend back in the 1980s is actually a hitherto unknown type of duck-billed dinosaur

This caught my attention for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that whenever I hear of a new species, I can’t help but wonder how scientists can be sure they’ve got it right this time, and how long that new species identification will last.

There’s a reason the dinosaur family tree keeps changing

The 40-year delay implies that paleontologists are much more careful about these things now than they were in the past. In this case, at least part of the delay was due to the fact that the bones were stuck together in a way that kept scientists from properly examining them

Still, there’s a reason that paleontologists like Jack Horner at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, Montana devote at least part of their time to streamlining the dinosaur family tree.

Horner believes that at least some of the specimens declared in the past to be unique species are in fact juvenile versions of other, already defined dinosaurs. Not everyone agrees, but as even a rudimentary look at the history of paleontology can tell you, the dinosaur family tree is probably a royal mess.

The Bone Wars of the mid-1800s resulted in a lot of dubious species

In the mid-1800s, fossil hunters had a nasty habit of getting into feuds with one another…These rivalries played out not only in the scientific journals, but also took tangible form in overt comparisons of the fossil hunters’ respective bone collections. Those comparisons weren’t just about how many bones you had, but how many of those bones came from new and never-before-seen species of dinosaurs. That was wonderful incentive for early paleontologists to declare that they’d discovered an entirely new species based on nothing more than a few teeth or a couple of stray bones. And really, who could blame them? So few dinosaurs were known at that point that odds were their dinosaur really was a new species.

That free-wheeling environment is no doubt the reason Joseph Leidy felt free to declare Trachodon mirabilis to be a unique species based on no more than a few teeth in 1856, and why Edward Drinker Cope rushed to publish his Elasmosaurus platyurus findings in 1868 without taking the time to figure out which end was the tail and which end the neck

the original fossil evidence for Trachodon was limited to seven teeth, one of which had a double-root. While Leidy always claimed to be certain that the double-rooted tooth came from a Trachodon, he eventually admitted that the other teeth could have come from a different animal entirely. Hardly confidence-inspiring.

The dinosaur family tree is littered with dubious species like these.

In fact, the older the species identification the more likely it is that the dinosaur has been stricken from the official fossil record. The glorious thing about the widespread human fascination with dinosaurs is that dinosaurs started appearing in pop culture almost from the moment they were first discovered. Old bookssculpture gardensmovies, and TV shows featuring dinosaurs are everywhere. Each little bit of pop culture records which dinosaurs were popular when it was created, and to some degree, what people thought they knew about them at the time.

Hagit asked: I would like to know how many whole skulls of dinosaurs have been found to date? Has any dinosaur been found in its entirety; body and skull included? Has a body been found in close proximity to its skull? If not found in close proximity, how is the body associated with the head?

Let’s start by stating the work of a paleontologist is not an easy task. The paleontologist has to find fossils buried inside a rocky layer in the ground, with only fossilized hard body parts (mostly bones)…

The skull is considered to be an extremely rare fossil, since it is composed of many parts, which fall apart and separate a short time after the animal dies. The average skull is composed of over twenty different parts, not including the teeth, and it has no joints to hold them attached to the rest of the skeleton after the meat has rotted away…

So, how is it possible to know what bone belongs to which dinosaur? It really isn’t that simple…[Emphasis added.]

Currently it is estimated that around 2,100 “good skeletons” have been found, and the number of known species is several hundred (300-500)…researchers often rely on the bone structure of contemporary reptiles and birds, which are the descendants of the dinosaurs and therefore their distant relatives…

Please do not quote parts of this article, but only cite it at its entirety.

For the sake of brevity in my writing I did not quote the above article in its entirety, but I did provide a link so my reader can confirm that the writer of this article never answered any of the questions posed by Hagit.

What the writer of the above article does reveal is the circular reasoning used by Evolutionists to establish their belief system by substituting the bones of contemporary animals into incomplete fossil skeletons to “prove” that contemporary animals are descended from those extinct animals.

Of the 120 known varieties of sauropod, complete skulls have been found for only eight.

Paleontologists…recovered four skulls of the new species, two of them fully intact. All four skulls belonged to young dinosaurs…

Because they’re so rare, the skulls of the new species, called Abydosaurus mcintoshi, are revealing new information about sauropods in general, including how they ate.

“They didn’t chew their food,” Britt said. “They just grabbed it and swallowed it. The skulls are only one two-hundredths of total body volume and don’t have an elaborate chewing system…”

The new species is named in part after paleontologist Jack McIntosh, who debunked the Brontosaurus in 1975. He exposed the erroneous species as a skeleton with an Apatosaurus body and a Camarasaurus skull.

Idownload-1t doesn’t take a doctoral degree to debunk the assertion that the skulls of young dinos accurately represent the skulls of adult dinos. How many animal infant skulls, like human skulls, are very different, along with chewing behavior.

Understanding fossils and casts

Fossils form over tens of thousands—up to hundreds of millions—of years. But fossils are rare since the conditions have to be right for them to form. First, sediment like mud or sand covers an animal’s body, and the soft tissues rot away leaving behind the hard tissue—teeth and bones. Over time, the sediment hardens into rock encasing the bones, often distorting them. Minerals from the surrounding groundwater and sediment very gradually replace some of the bones’ original minerals…

In some cases, scientists haven’t yet found a particular bone from a certain species. They very rarely unearth an entirely intact dinosaur skeleton…[Emphasis added.]

SUE is the most complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeleton discovered to date, with 250 of the approximately 380 total bones in a T. rex.

Scientists have identified a new species of dinosaur that is thought to have lived [emphasis added, see major inconsistency with chart below] 115 million years ago.

Four bones were found on the Isle of Wight in 2019 and researchers from the University of Southampton believe they all belong to a dinosaur which comes from the same family as the Tyrannosaurus rex.

The bones discovered were from the reptile’s neck, back and tail and it’s thought it would have been approximately four metres long.

when it comes to complete dinosaur skeletons, there’s just one. Yes, one…it’s been over a century and a half since it was first uncovered…”and provides many new and unexpected insights concerning the biology of early dinosaurs and their underlying relationships…a shame that the work was not done earlier…”

The fossil record is clearly incomplete, and it is clearly biased by many factors

So, is the fossil record more like 1 or 50 percent of reality? Benton doesn’t know. And his new paper suggests no else does either.

And yet, Evolution is taught as fact and accepted without question.

I haven’t proven that Evolution is wrong, but I don’t need to. It is the responsibility of Evolution to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that their version of events is more believable than the opposition.

It is up to you, the jury, to determine if four dimensional Evolution can prove it was where it claims it was and did what it claims it did within its claimed timeframe, and furthermore that hyperdimensional Creation “did not do it”.

Back to the aptly named Secret History of the World, where Evolution’s Tyrannosaurus Rex – King Tyrant Lizard – and the biblical dragon intersect.

The Serpent / Dragon

The best way to know any personality in literature is to start at his introduction and proceed through the story as his actions reveal his character. As a main character in the Biblical account of human history, the serpent appears at the very beginning of the story, where the Hebrew word for serpent is nachash (where ch is pronounced “k” as in school).

daenarys“Now the serpent / nachash was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent / nachash…of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it…

And the serpent / nachash said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw…a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat…

And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent / nachash beguiled me, and I did eat. And the LORD God said unto the serpent / nachash, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go…And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”  (Genesis 3:1-15)

This nachash serpent is usually assumed to be a dumb animal, possessed and controlled by Satan. But hold up! Put this chapter of the whole story in its proper place. This was creation before the fall, when not only the two humans but the animals were hyper dimensional beings. It was only when the woman ate the fruit that all living things under human dominion were dragged down to spiritually disconnected four dimensions.

For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. For the creature was made subject to vanity [futility], not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now… they… groan…waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of…the body.” (Romans 8:19-23)

The redemption of all creation from vanity / death back to immortality occurs when the Seed of the Woman triumphs over the Seed of the Serpent, paradoxically, through death.

“But now is The Promised Seed / Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death [to all living beings], by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” (I Corinthians 15:20-26)

This New Testament passage expands on the Old Testament prophecy of the restoration, through unity with God, of peace and eternal life to a conflict- and death-stricken world for all living beings.

“And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord…with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked…The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp [snake], and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ [extinct dragon] den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for [the whole, not just the people in] the earth shall be full of the knowledge of [joined / baptized in identity through the Spirit with] the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.” (Isaiah 11:1-9)

Apparently this sentient, subtle, clever nachash thought, like the woman, that he would improve his station in life by allying himself with the rebel angel. Like the woman, the result of his rebellion against God was immediate genetic modification. In his case, he lost appendages – legs and / or wings – indicating that originally he had them, in the form of a dragon.

As for enmity between women and snakes, that seems to be genetic as well.

However, scripture also indisputably identifies a permanently immortal serpent / nachash by other names – dragon, Satan and the Devil – and links the various personifications taken by the Messiah’s primary adversary. Once again we see “on earth as it is in heaven” – parallels between earthly and heavenly beings.

True to form, the path this being takes through the story is a crooked and often hidden one. We catch sight of the leader nachash during creation in .Job, a prequel to Genesis.

He [God] divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud…his hand hath formed the crooked serpent / nachashthe thunder of his [God’s] power who can understand? (Job 26:6-14)

Job’s account of nachash at creation is attested by the pre-flood Sumerian account of their serpent-dragon called Kur. This can be translated as outcast, exile, outlaw, foreigner, alien, which points to the rebellious angel thrown out of the kingdom of heaven in outer space, whose dwelling place became the earthly deep, the abzu, the abyss. When we look at distorted myths through the lens of the Bible, we can glimpse truth that is always at the core of the best lies.

After heaven and earth had been separated [by the firmament],

  • An, the heaven-god [YHVH], carried off the heaven,
  • while Enlil, the air-god [i.e. the immortal son of God Adam whose abode was in the atmosphere under the firmament], carried off the earth. [was given dominion over the earth by God]
  • It was then that the foul deed was committed. The goddess Ereshkigal [this would be the, originally, immortal human woman] was carried off violently into the nether world [she experienced death, a violent drop from the spiritual hyper dimensions of eternity to the four dimensions of mortal time and space]
  • perhaps [emphasis added, this is speculation] by Kur [the dragon/serpent]
  • Thereupon Enki [Lucifer, Adam’s adversary], the water-god, whose Sumerian origin is uncertain, but who toward the end of the third millennium B. C. gradually became one of the most important deities of the Sumerian pantheon, set out in a boat, in all probability [again this is purely speculation by the myth itself] to attack Kur and avenge the abduction of the goddess Ereshkigal.
  • Kur fought back savagely with all kinds of stones, large and small. Moreover it attacked Enki’s boat, front and rear, with the primeval waters [in outer space] which it no doubt controlled [again, speculation].
  • Here our brief prologue passage ends, since the author of “Gilgamesh, Enkidu, and the Nether World” is not interested in the dragon story primarily…

It is not at all unlikely that the Sumerian passage ended when it did because it couldn’t reveal that Enki / Lucifer, the liar, the “lord of the abyss” who claims to be the savior of mankind, is himself the dragon abductor who dragged the immortal woman into the nether world of death.

This prototype fire-breathing dragon is so important that he warrants an entire chapter in the Bible describing his powerful attributes.

“Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants? Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.

Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me? Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.

gameofthrones15_184Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about. His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. By his [s]neesings [snortings] a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.

In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon [chain mail].

“He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear…Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.” (Job 41)

As detailed in the post Time, the original king over all the children of pride, Lucifer, is called Cronus in the Greek, for chronology, the one who brought time / death into existence. Cronus, king of the Titans, cloned children of his own, including Zeus / Satan, who became the king of the next generation of gods, the Olympians.

Both Cronus / Lucifer and his clone Zeus / Satan are leaders of all rebellion against Creator God, therefore set for destruction at the end of time.

For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain…In that day the LORD with his sore and great and strong sword shall punish leviathan the piercing serpent / nachash, even leviathan that crooked serpent / nachash; AND he shall slay the dragon / tannin that is in the sea.” (Isaiah 26:21-27:1)

This sea is above the firmament, so in outer space AKA the 2nd heaven which is destroyed in the end along with its inhabitants. See the post In the Beginning God for more information on this location.

A parallel passage in Revelation describes the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy.

“And there was war in heaven...And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him…And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war…and his name is called The Word of God…And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations…And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone…and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever…And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first [original] heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.” (Revelation 12:7-12; 19:11-20; 20:10, 21:1)

Continuing our quest for this reptilian shape-shifter, we find that  “serpent” is also translated from another Hebrew word – seraph. (We usually encounter the plural form “seraphim” where “im” ending serves the same pluralizing function in Hebrew as “s” in English.)  There is a clear connection between the two as the two Hebrew words are freely interchanged and translated into the same word serpent in the following passage.

“And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the LORD sent fiery serpents / seraphim nachashim among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery-serpent / seraph, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent / nachash of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent / nachash had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent / nachash of brass, he lived.” (Numbers 21:5-9)

“…the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery-serpents / seraphim…(Deuteronomy 8:14-15)

Like the nachashim, seraphim are both earthly winged reptiles and sons of God in heaven. The verb form  means “burning”.  The adjective “fiery” can mean “brilliantly shining” as captured in the image of polished brass.  In another sense this characterizes the power that these beings have over life and death with the use of fire, as with cauterizing a festering wound or inflicting a toxin-induced burning pain or microorganism-induced fever or utter destruction.

“In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.” (Isaiah 6:1-6)

7ac260ac81ce8b69f556899677d5518e-sumerian-iranImages of ancient Mesopotamian gods bear a striking resemblance to the biblical description of the seraphim, This is because they were among the fallen angels. We know that Lucifer fell from the position of an angelic caste called the cherubim.

“Thus saith the LORD GodThou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so…Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee…therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of Godthou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness…(Ezekiel 28:12-17)

According to the statement in Ezekiel, Lucifer was “anointed” and “set” in the position of cherub, like a high priest. We can logically conclude, then, that the looks of cherubim or seraphim described in the Bible are not necessarily intrinsic to the individual beings.

However, Lucifer’s appearance as nachash is so consistent as to give us a means of identification. “Mysteriously,” virtually identical worship of the serpent in his own form is found in every culture around the world.

“And there was war in heaven…And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him…Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you.” (Revelation 12:7-11)

reptilian_humanoidIt would appear that there really is a species of reptilian aliens whose leader will reveal himself to the world. Scripture confirms the alien investigators’ reports that these beings are “shape-shifters”.

Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” (II Corinthians 11:14)

This would explain the discrepancies both internally in the Bible and externally with other ancient anthropomorphic depictions of these reptilian beings. It may also be that the fallen angels were trying to recreate heaven, and simply made themselves up as best they could into their desired, more exalted role.

A key method for tracking one single individual through name changes and a maze of mythic deceptions is through the many titles granted to him in recognition of his actions and inheritances.

For example, Caesar Augustus had many titles, all of which attributed aspects of divine power. All of them are also recognized as appropriated titles of The Promised Seed / Prophesied Savior / Christ. Bingo. Caesar, the first Roman emperor, and anyone taking this title as claim to be his heir, is Antichrist.

  • a641d69f0ee10661e60e8b724dde1067Divi Filius, meaning ‘Son of the Divine,’ or ‘Son of God,’ was his favorite title.  This title appears on almost every coin minted by Augustus.
  • Dominus in Latin, or Kyrios in Greek, which means ‘Lord.’
  • Soter, meaning ‘Savior,’ a title conveying that he had saved the empire from internal political instability, financial ruin, and external threats by foreign powers.
  • Pontifex  Maximus, meaning ‘High Priest’, i.e. vicar, human embodiment of the chief god Jupiter / Zeus who ruled through him.

This divine king brought peace to the kingdom by means of military victory, and as an expression of submission to his rule he was worshipped as a god. Anyone who refused to worship him was a traitor, a rebel and disturber of the peace.

The most ancient historical records in existence, some dated prior to the flood, are the Sumerian tablets and other inscribed objects. These predate the oldest extant (still in existence) biblical documents, and give evidence of the pervasive paganism embraced by humankind since earliest history. When we examine what these records say and compare them to the Bible we can recognize the chief god is none other than Lucifer.

The reptilian image of the Nin / Lord “of the Tree of Life, Tree of Truth” is a bit confusing in that there are two elements portraying the same individual, perhaps reflecting what he once was, and what he became. Ningishzida apparently once was one of the two guardians of the King of the Gods, portrayed in this image as “the anointed cherub that covereth” with the same composite features described in the Bible of ox, man, lion, and eagle. (Eze 1, Eze 10) On the side, the “four faces” described by Ezekiel are likely an unavoidably inadequate and inaccurate portrayal of a multi-dimensional being, and the Sumerian two-dimensional portrait is taking artistic license with an impossible task.

“…he made two cherubims of gold…One cherub on the end on this side, and another cherub on the other end on that side…And the cherubims spread out their wings on high, and covered with their wings over the mercy seat, with their faces one to another…” (Exodus 37:7-9)

Ningishzida also identified himself as having become like the most high God, the main player flanked by the bodyguards. Overthrow of a ruler by a coup led by one of his own high ranking military leaders is a common threat in any government. This is transparently none other than Lucifer.

“O LORD of hosts…that dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth…”(Isaiah 37:16)

The Enuma Elish, the Sumerian creation story, is examined in depth in the post Time because it provides some valuable detail widely known to the ancients but ignored in our time. To briefly recap, we can discern Lucifer, by any of his many names, through his characteristic pride, lies, and rebellion against the Most High God. He was thrown out of heaven to be lord of the abyss, called apsu / abzu in Sumerian.

123771677_65bf6b87ed_oJust like Caesar Augustus is better known by his titles than his personal name Octavian, so Lucifer was better known and worshipped by the titles referencing his eminent characteristics.

  • Nudimmud = “Begetter of mankind” in Sumerian, reflecting his rivalry with both  Creator God and the Adams, and his power and rule over the underworld, abode of deceased mortal humans. He is the god of wisdom, intelligence, trickery, mischief, magic, exorcism, virility, fertility, and many other desired traits.
  • En-ki = “Lord of the Earth” in Sumerian, reflecting his rivalry with the human granted this honor. He is in fact granted the role of god of this world by his followers. He is often portrayed with “rivers of fresh water flowing from his shoulders”, or more probably, standing between the key rivers Euphrates and Tigris. However it is interpreted, this represents his claimed aspect of life-giver. Note also how he stands with one foot on the sea and one on earth.
    • “And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven And…he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth…And sware…that there should be time no longer:” (Revelation 10:1-6)
  • Ea = translation into the Akkadian language for the same god.

The reality of Lucifer as a hyper-dimensional being that has been involved with humanity from the beginning of history is supported by the fact that he continues to be worshipped in our own culture in new age religions as:

…Serpent Seraph, Winged Serpent, Dragon, Nachash…alter-Form of HERU’s Second Person. He is the Creator and Maintainer of all worlds and beings. He is the Lord of all time [therefore death, you must realize, Beelzebub], WHO ALONE REMAINS (SESHA) AFTER THE ANNIHILATION OF ANY MATERIAL UNIVERSE! [Emphases in the original.]

Not according to the Bible. You do realize this means war. Read the Bible’s retort to Lucifer’s self-presentation.

“And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and HIS right foot upon the sea, and HIS left foot on the earth, And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices [in challenge]And…I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. [Because they are not happening! Satan thunders “I will!” and God shuts him up and overrules him with “No, I WILL!”]

And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer [ergo, according to quantum physics, no more four dimensional universe and according to the Bible no more death]But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.” (Revelation 10:1-7)

“What is man…Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet[stance of victory] (Psalm 8:4-6)

Lucifer / Enki / Cronus was unable to attack humans directly, so he devised a clever strategy to destroy his rivals by subterfuge.

He represents himself as the true benefactor of mankind, the source of power and means to overcome human limitations to become immortal gods. His only goal is to destroy his rivals, which he accomplishes by deceitfully claiming to be The One Who Brings Life.

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” (Genesis 3:1-5)

According to both the Enuma Elish and the Bible, after the attack on the woman Enki / Lucifer landed in the abyss.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart…I [not this mud-person Adam] will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pitthe seed of evildoers shall never be renowned. Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers.” (Isaiah 14:12-21)

As detailed in Greek legends, before being removed from the playing field, Cronus single-fathered many children. The king over this next generation of gods, the Olympians, was his clone Marduk / Zeus / Satan, i.e. Adversary, who carries out his father’s will.

When we grasp Satan’s strategy to deceive and destroy, we understand the background to “Yahweh’s Savior / Yeshua saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)

“if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.” (Mark 13:21-23)

The essential message of the Bible is the rivalry between Good and Evil and the necessity for humans to choose one or the other. This is the gospel that was carried throughout the world before the Mosaic Law was constituted or the New Testament was written.

whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. But I say, Have they not heard? Yes verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.” (Romans 10:13-18)

Zoroastrianism is arguably the world’s oldest monotheistic religion. It centers on the words of the prophet Zarathushtra, called Zoroaster by the ancient Greeks, and focuses worship upon Ahura Mazda, the Lord of Wisdom. It also acknowledges two competing principles representing good and evil: Spenta Mainyu (“Bounteous Spirit”) and Angra Mainyu (“Destructive Spirit”). Humans are intimately involved in this struggle, holding off chaos and destruction through active goodness…

Ahura Mazda, the Zoroastrian Supreme Creator, is the only god worshiped, although the existence of lesser spiritual beings is also recognized. The overriding ethical principle of Zoroastrianism is Humata, Hukhta, Huveshta: “to think good, to speak good, to act good.” This is the divine expectation of humans, and only through goodness will chaos be kept at bay…

It’s important to note that, because Zoroastrianism is so ancient, beliefs and rituals have changed over time.

However much Zoroastrianism, like Christianity and Judaism, has been distorted over thousands of years, the foundational truth of a unique Creator God delegating authority to humans, and the simple message of the need to be righteous to defeat destruction, can be recognized as basic biblical truth.

“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.” (Malachi 4:1-2)

Therefore deceiver Lucifer appropriated the Zoroastrian god of light for himself.

Lucifer’s winged sun symbolizes Gnosticism, which became foundational to all ancient religions.  It symbolizes the teaching that

  1. a Chosen Few can achieve godhood
  2. through discovery of mysteries hidden to ordinary humans,
  3. by joining mystery cults in which the secrets are incrementally revealed over time as the initiate performs deeds proving himself worthy of the sacred knowledge.

This is, not surprising seeing it is adversarial, the antithesis of the Bible’s teaching that

  1. everyone can achieve godhood
  2. through acceptance of provable truth freely available to all through God’s creation in the world and written word
  3. by an act of grace from a loving God.

in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: and were by nature the children of wrath…But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, when we were dead in sins, hath quickened / brought to life us together / united with Christ / Promised OneAnd hath RAISED US up together, and made US SIT TOGETHER IN HEAVENLY PLACES in YHVH’s Promised Savior / Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of our works…we are HIS workmanship, created in YHVH’s Promised Savior / Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:2-10)

God actually uses Satan to discipline his children.

“It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife…concerning him that hath so done this deed, In the name of our Lord Yahweh’s Savior/Yeshua Messiah/Jesus Christ..deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.” (I Cor 5:1-5)  [And it worked, according to the followup letter:] Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many. So…forgive him, and comfort him…confirm your love toward him.” (II Corinthians 2:6-8)

“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” (II Corinthians 12:7-8)

The oldest book in the Bible gives us the most information about this tactic, and describes how God allows Satan to persecute us in order to mature us and prove our commitment to God “for better or for worse”.

“There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil...Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan…Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.” (Job 1:1-12)

He is called the tempter because he attacks God’s people through temptation, seducing us through our existing desire for comfort, security, attention, money, power or whatever particular selfish desire we may have.

“Then was Yahweh’s Savior / Yeshua led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said,

  • If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread…
  • Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone…
  • Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

Then saith Yahweh’s Savior / Yeshua unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.” (Matthew 4:1-11)

“And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel…And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel. And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, do away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.” (I Chronicles 21:1-8)

“…when I could no longer forbear, I sent to know your faith, lest by some means the tempter have tempted you, and our labour be in vain.” (I Thessalonians 3:5)

“…a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?” (Acts 5:1-3)

“When Yahweh’s Savior/Yeshua/Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?…And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Chosen One/Messiah/Christ, the Son of the living God. And Yahweh’s Savior/Yeshua/Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven…

This is the true “as above, so below”. Admit it.  This kind of power would totally go to your head, and so it does with Peter. So who will Satan target to get at Yeshua?

From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.” (Matthew 16:13-23)

He is characterized as a devouring lion and an angel of light. Whichever tactic works.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: whom resist steadfast in the faith…” (I Peter 5:8-9)

“Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness.” (II Corinthians 11:45-15)

According to the Book of Enoch, celestial beings are indeed shape-shifters who can appear as humans as well as other forms.

Before all these things Enoch was concealed…He was wholly engaged with the holy ones, and with the Watchers in his days…and when they pleased they assumed the likeness of men.(Enoch 12)

This revelation is confirmed in the canon of scripture.

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.” (Hebrews 13:2)

He is called the Devil, i.e. Slanderer. In addition to slandering God’s people, such as Job above, he primarily slanders God, such as claiming that he is withholding good things from us, or that he doesn’t love us or he wouldn’t let us suffer the consequences of our choices or discipline us.

“he shewed me Joshua / Yeshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. And the LORD said unto Satan, The LORD rebuke thee, O Satan; even the LORD that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?…And he answered and spake unto those that stood before him, saying…Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee.” (Zechariah 3:1-4)

Humans who are spiritually united with Yahweh’s Savior’s atonement for sin are declared righteous, and Satan cannot argue for a conviction against us.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in YHVH’s Anointed Savior / Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death…What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is The Promised One / Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” (Romans 8:1-2,31-34)

Satan and his angels were cast out of heaven, where he is identified as the dragon and that old serpent. This should be viewed as his true identity.

“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him…And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Yahweh’s Chosen Savior / Yeshua Messiah / Jesus Christ.” (Revelation 12:3-17)

We shouldn’t freak out about the end times, because since the day God gave dominion to mankind we have been under assault in every dimension of body, soul and spirit. The spiritual dimension is the least understood. Many people simply avoid the topic. However, we should know our enemy.

“Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.” (II Cor 2:11)

Becoming a follower of Jesus Christ does not guarantee us a privileged life of having all our prayer requests granted. We will be attacked by the enemy, but we have the advantage over our enemy when we expect and prepare for attacks by becoming spiritually strong.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”  (Ephesians 6:10-18)

“…follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness [which is how we] Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal [spiritual ergo even more powerful than “mind” over matter] life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.” (I Tim 6:11-12)

Even when it seems we’ve failed, we can be confident of backup support, and ultimate victory, in the face of the most dreadful circumstances.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren…What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?…Who shall separate us from the love of The Consecrated One / Messiah / Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Yahweh’s Consecrated Savior / Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:28-39)

“So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. (I Corinthians 15:54)

It is essential that we understand that we are at war with Satan.  If we are going to win our battles, we have to understand that victory over this supernatural powerful enemy is only made possible when we are empowered by God through connection with his most powerful Spirit.

“For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak. But one in a certain place testified, saying, What is man, that thou art mindful of him? or the son of man that thou visitest him?  Thou… crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands: Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet…But now we see not yet all things put under him. But we see Yahweh’s Savior / Yeshua / Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren, Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee. And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me. Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.” (Hebrews 2:5-15)

What does that mean?  “Through death he might destroy him that had the power of death.”  The plot thickens.  But before we investigate that, let’s summarize what we’ve learned about the main plot line so far.

God created the universe and everything in it, including powerful spirit beings commonly called angels, and less powerful material beings commonly called man, short for human. At this point, control over the universe clearly belonged to God. God chose to delegate control.  That’s his prerogative.  But when God told the angels that he elected to give dominion to humans instead of angels, a powerful angel, Lucifer, pitched a fit and defied God’s decision.  He announced that he would seize power.

Was this an impulsive, emotional response, as is usually the case with decisions made in the heat of anger?  After all, Satan couldn’t actually wrest power from God himself. Aaah, but he didn’t have to take it from God!  He only had to take it from utterly innocent humans.  For a powerful angel, that was like stealing candy from a baby.
