Key precept: Choose your leader wisely, because this battle ends in utter annihilation for the losing side.
“If it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.“(Joshua 24:14-150
What’s the great attraction to the Serpent, his Seed and and his host of false gods? Ahh. They appeal to our human lusts.
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world…(I John 2:15-19)
“…if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is The Promised Seed of the Woman / Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.” (Matthew 24:23-24)
What becomes evident as we explore scripture is that the Antichrist is accepted as the Savior of a world going to hell all around us, not just because his followers don’t know the Word of God so don’t have a basis for comparing him to the real deal, but because they prefer his self-serving lust-based system to God’s self-sacrificing love-based “I am crucified with Christ”(Galatians 2:20) system. Makes sense.
Until the terrible moment that the Serpent’s wickedness and deception is revealed by nothing less than his followers’ UNALTERABLE DOOM BECAUSE IT TRULY IS UNREAL. Self-centeredness destroys the very interdependent infrastructure each individual depends on for life itself! Are we not recognizing this in the growing ecological crisis? Can we not extend this awareness to the even more complex human social system?
Humans are destroying the world God put under our care, and each other. Allying with the Serpent’s Seed is just part of the incredibly stupid, blind, self-deceptive pride that results in the delusion that one is indeed the smartest and most powerful being in the room at least, if not the universe, and that the Creator and Spirit Sustainer can be overthrown, or at least ignored.
God’s enemies are still conspiring to “throw the Jews into the sea” as a redo of the first Egyptian attempt which ended in utter disaster. God allows this and other conspiracies to force humans to make a decision in a crisis: trust in 1) the power of the Creator God or 2) the power of hyper dimensional fellow rebels against God.
“And an angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you.” (Judg 2:1-3)
The powers of this world place their trust in earthly forces of weaponry and manpower.
To increase the odds of success, warring factions enlist as many warriors as possible, primarily by making political alliances.
God’s people, however, are expressly ordered not to trust in adequate resources, or to make alliances with unbelievers, because this demonstrates lack of faith in God’s unearthly, hyper dimensional power.
“And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel. And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it. And Joab answered, The Lord make his people an hundred times so many more as they be: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord’s servants? why then doth my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel? Nevertheless the king’s word prevailed against Joab. Wherefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem. And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and an hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah was four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword. But Levi and Benjamin counted he not among them: for the king’s word was abominable to Joab. And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel. And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I beseech thee, do away the iniquity of thy servant; for I have done very foolishly.” (I Chron 21:1-8)
“At that time Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered. And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not. Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country unto me, even from Babylon. Then said he, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them. Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord of hosts: Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord. And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon. (Isa 39:1-7)
Allying with the enemy invariably supports the enemy. The enemy is always empowered when it can 1) drain the oppositions’ resources and simultaneously 2) increase theirs. The Nazis were highly skilled at this practice.
As early as 1937, the Nazis increasingly exploited the forced labor…for economic gain and to meet desperate labor shortages. By the end of that year, most Jewish males residing in Germany were required to perform forced labor for various government agencies.
When Germany conquered Poland in the autumn of 1939…the German occupation authorities required all Jewish and Polish males to perform unpaid forced labor…in the Lodz ghetto, German state and private entrepreneurs established 96 plants and factories that produced goods for the German war effort.
Following the German invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941, the Germans…began to deploy Soviet POWs at forced labor in various war-related industries. From 1942–1944, the Germans deported nearly three million Soviet citizens to Germany, Austria, and Bohemia-Moravia as forced laborers.
King Hezekiah’s conviction that he could make friends with an unrighteous neighboring state proved to be a delusion. But that didn’t stop many of his people from thinking they had better chances with the enemy than at home, and “falling away.”
“And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about. Now the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the fugitives that fell away to the king of Babylon, with the remnant of the multitude, did Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carry away.” (II Kings 25:10-11)
When David found refuge from King Saul with the Philistines, they quite reasonably feared that that he would turn out to be a “turncoat” in the middle of battle by “falling away” to Saul to win a ticket back home.
“David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle…helped them not: for the lords of the Philistines upon advisement sent him away, saying, He will fall to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads.” (I Chronicles 12:19)
On the contrary, David won the kingdom of Israel from Saul because much of the Israelite army “fell away” from Saul to him.
“As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him…captains of the thousands…For at that time day by day there came to David to help him, until it was a great host, like the host of God. And these are the numbers of the bands that were ready armed to the war, and came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the LORD…All these men of war, that could keep rank, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.” (I Chronicles 12)
There is one, and only one, weapon on which God’s people are to depend. That is faith in God’s promise that he will deliver us from all enemies, including the ultimate enemy Death.
- By faith he [Moses] forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
- Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.
- By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.
- By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.
- By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.
And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: Who through faith
- subdued kingdoms,
- wrought righteousness,
- obtained promises,
- stopped the mouths of lions.
- Quenched the violence of fire,
- escaped the edge of the sword,
- out of weakness were made strong,
- waxed valiant in fight,
- turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
- Women received their dead raised to life again: and
- others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And
- others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
- They were stoned,
- they were sawn asunder,
- were tempted,
- were slain with the sword:
- they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.” (Heb 11:27-40)
This is especially true for those who fall away / depart from the faith once and for all delivered unto the saints. Religious differences often cement alliances, with denominational differences being exploited by the various factions to draw away and weaken the opposition.
“Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.” (I Tim 4:1-2)
“…account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.” (II Pet 3:15-17)
“…be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled…as that the day of Messiah/Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away / apostasy / forsaking [desertion from the true God] first, and [a contrasting action which would be allying with] that man of sin [which empowers him to boldly] be revealed, [as] the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? And now ye know [Paul is referring back to the beginning of this paragraph when they didn’t know] what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. (II Thess 2:2-6)
The Thessalonian passage is used by some sincere believers as a proof of a pre-tribulation physical rapture of believers with their resident Holy Spirit, but this interpretation is simply not supported by scripture.
- The Greek word translated into English as “falling away” is “apostasia”. This does not describe physical upward motion. You don’t need Greek lessons to recognize one of the many Greek words which retained not only the meaning but most of the spelling when it was trans-literated into English during the trans-lation of the King James Bible. Using a concordance, we find that the only other passage in which this word is used it is translated “to forsake” Moses, unmistakably describing apostasy, not rapture.
- Using one verse to prove one’s private interpretation is a violation of the scriptural and legal law requiring at least two witnesses to establish truth. The other passages describing this climax of human history unquestionably direct the action of falling away with “the faith”, not “the earth.”
- The other passages of scripture quoted above all use “falling away” as “defecting to the enemy”.
- The argument within the passage itself does not allow a rapture interpretation. Paul is assuring Gentile converts that the sight of Antichrist in the temple is a sign that Yahweh’s Savior / Yeshua / Jesus will shortly return to rescue them. Ergo, Gentile believers must be on earth to see it.
In this struggle between the Son of God and the Son of Perdition, where the weapons are named as the opposites truth vs lie, what withholdeth is also the opposite of falling away. It is standing against the forces of evil in a vicious spiritual battle. Paul uses the same familiar Roman battle imagery in another of his epistles describing the face-off between the Seeds’ armies. Notice that the word of God, the Bible, is the entire armory against the devil.
“…my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
- stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to
- withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to
- Stand therefore,
- having your loins girt about with truth, and
- having on the breastplate of righteousness; And
- your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
- Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
- And take the helmet of salvation, and
- the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel…” (Eph 6:10-19)
“He who is taken away” is most assuredly the Holy Spirit, but not in the form of the church being raptured. The Holy Spirit is embodied in every individual proclaimer of the Word of God. Warning: Hazardous Duty.
“…when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service…But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them...It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged…when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.” (John 15:26-16:15)
Are you getting the picture? Spreading righteous living through Holy Spirit-filled followers of Jesus Christ keeps evil at bay! It’s so obvious we miss it! Can we not look around us and recognize that evil is spreading across our world like a visible black cloud? What is the underlying root cause? The failure of “bruised reeds” and “smoking flax” to carry out the Great Commission to “go ye into all the world and preach the gospel.”
“For the mystery of iniquity doth already work:
- only he who now letteth [restrains, binds, holds back]
- will [continue to] let,
- until [in the future] he be taken out of the way.
And then shall that Wicked be revealed…Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved…That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.” (II Thessalonians 2:7-12)
“The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. And great multitudes were gathered together unto him…And he spake many things unto them in parables…The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But…his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat...when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also. So the servants of the householder came and said unto him…Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up? But he said, Nay…lest ye root up also the wheat with them. Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn…and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. He answered and said unto them,
- He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man / Seed of the Wo-man;
- The field is the world;
- the good seed are the children of the kingdom;
- but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
- The enemy that sowed them is the devil;
- the harvest is the end of the world;
- and the reapers are the angels.
As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world…Then shall the righteous shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.” (Matthew 13)
“be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled…that the day of The Promised Seed of the Woman / Messiah / Christ / end of the world is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
[The good crop, the children of God, is still germinating and growing.]
In the battle to reclaim the earth it is not God’s mysterious timing but human choices that direct the course of history.
Antichrist is voted into power when humans choose him over the Word of God in a replay of the decision made in the Garden of Eden.
Abel was the first preacher who was “taken out of the way”, note, by being killed. Cain was consequently revealed as Satan’s minion and the world leader of the rebel forces, as was described in detail in the earlier post.
“By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous…and by it he being dead yet speaketh.” (Heb 11:4)
“And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire…” (Gen 4:6-7)
Enoch was a prophet/priest/king who held in check the judgment of sinners, and whose rapture set lose an era of unprecedented domination of mankind by the ancient gods. His exit from the earth is clearly described as a rapture. This should convince us that God documents any occurrence of a rapture just as clearly as he does the rest of scripture, but this is a subject for a later post.
“[These are] Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” (Jude 1:13-14)
“And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” (Gen 5:24)
Noah was a preacher of righteousness during a period of such apostasy and persecution that only eight people were saved from judgment.
“For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;” (II Pet 2:4-5)
Prophets/preachers warned of coming judgment throughout Israel’s history. Elijah is a major figure who established his credentials during a time of vicious persecution of God’s people ennobled by great sacrifices and wondrous works by one man who had no resources left but those granted by the Most High God.
“And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim. Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table. So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel. And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word. Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under. And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded. And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down. And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, Israel shall be thy name: And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed. And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood. And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time. And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water. And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LordGod, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God. And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there. And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down that the rain stop thee not. And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.” (I K 18:17-46)
Notice that Elijah’s rapture is not a surprise. It comes on schedule, just like the believers’ in the last day comes “at the last trump” (I Cor 15:52). Again, I’m getting ahead of myself. This will be detailed in a later post.
“And it came to pass, when the Lord would take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal…And the sons of the prophets that were at Bethel came forth to Elisha, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Lord will take away thy master from thy head to day? And he said, Yea, I know it; hold ye your peace…And fifty men of the sons of the prophets went, and stood to view afar off: and they two stood by Jordan. And Elijah took his mantle, and wrapped it together, and smote the waters, and they were divided hither and thither, so that they two went over on dry ground. And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.” (II Ki 2:1-11)
Elijah is prophesied to return to earth to preach just before the last judgment.
“For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble…Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments. Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” (Mal 4:1-6)
“And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the Lord, saying, Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day. It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin. Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the Lord, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book. And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up [imprisoned for preaching]; I cannot go into the house of the Lord: Therefore go thou, and read in the roll, which thou hast written from my mouth, the words of the Lord in the ears of the people in the Lord‘s house upon the fasting day: and also thou shalt read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities. It may be they will present their supplication before the Lord, and will return every one from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the Lord hath pronounced against this people. And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the Lord in the Lord‘s house. And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the Lord to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem. Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the Lord, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the Lord‘s house, in the ears of all the people. When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of the Lord, Then he went down into the king’s house, into the scribe’s chamber: and, lo, all the princes sat there, even Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes. Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people. Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in thine hand the roll wherein thou hast read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them. And they said unto him, Sit down now, and read it in our ears. So Baruch read it in their ears. Now it came to pass, when they had heard all the words, they were afraid both one and other, and said unto Baruch, We will surely tell the king of all these words. And they asked Baruch, saying, Tell us now, How didst thou write all these words at his mouth? Then Baruch answered them, He pronounced all these words unto me with his mouth, and I wrote them with ink in the book. Then said the princes unto Baruch, Go, hide thee, thou and Jeremiah; and let no man know where ye be. And they went in to the king into the court, but they laid up the roll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the ears of the king. So the king sent Jehudi to fetch the roll: and he took it out of Elishama the scribe’s chamber. And Jehudi read it in the ears of the king, and in the ears of all the princes which stood beside the king. Now the king sat in the winterhouse in the ninth month: and there was a fire on the hearth burning before him. And it came to pass, that when Jehudi had read three or four leaves, he cut it with the penknife, and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the roll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth. Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words. Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them. But the king commanded Jerahmeel the son of Hammelech, and Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to take Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet: but the Lord hid them. Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying, Take thee again another roll, and write in it all the former words that were in the first roll, which Jehoiakim the king of Judah hath burned. And thou shalt say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus saith the Lord; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast? Therefore thus saith the Lord of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost. And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they hearkened not. Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.” (Jer 36)
“Jehoiakim was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord his God. Against him came up Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and bound him in fetters, to carry him to Babylon.” (II Chron 36:5-6)
Dietrich Bonhoeffer was silenced in Nazi Germany and replaced with Positive Christianity. This is happening in America today with removing all biblical influence from public institutions like schools and legislatures. Most of all, the Word of God is being taken out of the way by professing Christians, putting the Holy Spirit out of commission and replacing him with a new god of science.
Evil beings commonly empower humans through sex. This should not come as a surprise, since sex is all about two joining into one.
“What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you?” (I Corinthians 6:16-19)
The difference between holy and evil spirit empowerment is the difference between love and lust.
- Love stays committed through good times and bad to support each other – yes, that means the human stays committed to the spirit of Jesus Christ also.
- Lust stays utterly self absorbed in an unending series of impersonal encounters for a rush of feeling anything to overcome the isolation of disconnectedness they are doomed to experience forever.
Only God’s spirit is a stream of living water directed towards enhancing personal development. Evil spirits divert essential resources from their temporary partners to themselves, leaving devastation in their wake.
Between 2013 and 2017 gonorrhea increased by 67 percent to 555,608 cases, syphilis by 76 percent to 30,644 cases, and chlamydia increased by 22 percent to 1.7 million cases.
What happens when believers stop speaking out boldly and the Bible is abandoned?
The enemy wins a battle and celebrates his victory over the vanquished!
And the people answered and said, God forbid that we should forsake the LORD, to serve other gods…for he is our God. And Joshua said unto the people…he is an holy God; he is a jealous God…If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good. And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD. And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses…And the people said unto Joshua, The LORD our God will we serve, and his voice will we obey….And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the Lord. And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the Lord which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.” (Joshua 24:14-27)
Do you catch what Joshua told the nation of Israel as they were entering the Promised Land? It is better to never have known the LORD God than to enter into a covenant with him then forsake him. It’s exactly like betrayal in a marriage. Things can get way uglier than between two strangers. And history records that’s exactly what happened with the Israelites.
“Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD…for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.” (Jeremiah 3:20-25)
through the anger of the Lord it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
4 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.
5 So the city was besieged unto the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
6 And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was sore in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
7 Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city round about:) and they went by the way of the plain.
8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
9 Then they took the king, and carried him up unto the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.
10 And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
11 Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.
12 Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, which served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,
13 And burned the house of the Lord, and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, burned he with fire:
14 And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.
15 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the residue of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.
16 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.
17 Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the Lord, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the Lord, the Chaldeans brake, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.
18 The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, took they away.
19 And the basons, and the firepans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the candlesticks, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, took the captain of the guard away.
20 The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brasen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the Lord: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
21 And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a fillet of twelve cubits did compass it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.
22 And a chapiter of brass was upon it; and the height of one chapiter was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the chapiters round about, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were like unto these.
23 And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred round about.
24 And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
25 He took also out of the city an eunuch, which had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king’s person, which were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and threescore men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.
26 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
27 And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.
28 This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:
29 In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty and two persons:
30 In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadrezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.” (Jeremiah 52:3-30)
“Hear ye the word of the LORD, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain?...I brought you into a plentiful country, to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when ye entered, ye defiled my land, and made mine heritage an abomination. The priests said not, Where is the LORD? and they that handle the law knew me not: the pastors also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal, and walked after things that do not profit…Hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods? but my people have changed their glory for that which doth not profit. Be astonished, O ye heavens, at this, and be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, saith the LORD. For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water. Is Israel a servant? is he a homeborn slave? why is he spoiled? The young lions roared upon him, and yelled, and they made his land waste: his cities are burned without inhabitant… Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, when he led thee by the way? And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river? (Jeremiah 2)
“But there were false prophets also among the people…And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you…chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities. Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord. But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness…These are wells without [life-giving] water, clouds that are carried with a [destructive] tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
Where did the gods go?
You’l notice that the Bible records many instances of God’s righteous angels, and even God himself, visiting mankind on earth. So why do all the ancient mythologies of the gods report them to have been on earth only in ancient times? Biblically, this corresponds to the time prior to the flood of Noah. In the millennia following the flood, the pagan version of Creator God by whatever name, and his sons and their sons were understood to be real and were feared and revered and appealed to for benefits and association with them desired. But the pagan gods no longer showed their faces. They worked through their human agents, the priests, wizards, and sorcerers, even as God did with Daniel, Moses, etc., and as the Spirit Guides do today according to their worshippers. Why is that?
One reason is that the fallen angels who copulated with women were imprisoned for this gross transgression of the order of the world. But what about the other fallen angels who didn’t commit this sin?
Peter Pan explains. (Can you recognize his hermaphroditic appearance and its significance?)
“And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, [What is he talking about? Where is this coming from?] Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter’s son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brethren, James, and Joses, and Simon, and Judas? And his sisters, are they not all with us? Whence then hath this man all these things? And they were offended in him...And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief. (Matthew 13:54-58)
It isn’t just belief in the Creator that waivers, it’s belief in all things spiritual. As humanity recovered from the flood catastrophe and individuals became successful and prosperous through what, in their prideful human nature they deemed to be entirely their own efforts, they stopped believing they needed, or were getting help from, or indeed that there were even such things as, the gods.
“The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?” (Daniel 4:30)
This line of thinking culminated in the purely materialistic Greek world view which has dominated Western culture to this day.
In the second half of the fifth century B.C. the tradition of the Sophists emerged…they were worldly, liberal minded humanists…each person had his individual experiences and individual truth. Trying to define an objective reality was pointless…
Socrates… turned his back on science and cosmology and pursued ethics and logic…With his dialectic method of inquiry Socrates developed one of the core columns of Western thinking..True knowledge was something that could not be learned by listening to other people it had to be personally attained.
Plato…taught that every material object also had a transcendental aspect to it…The immortal soul was in contact with the divine prior to birth but lost this connection due to amnesia when entering the physical body… Logos…a divine ordering principle behind all things and events…[was] integrated…into his philosophy of an understandable world.
Aristotle…turned Plato’s principles of a divine order upside down…understanding of the natural world could be attained by perceiving the world with the five senses…logic, empiricism and natural science…turned out to be trend-setting for scientific research of the West.
Religion gave way to humanism.
“For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe…” (I Corinthians 1:18-21)
Absolutely. The world is a religious jungle.
In particular, the New Age Movement for the spiritually minded and equating aliens with the ancient gods for the physically minded has opened wide doors of opportunity for hyperdimensional beings whatever they are called.
There are two equal and opposite errors into which our race can fall about the devils. One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel and excessive and unhealthy interest in them. They themselves are equally pleased by both errors and hail a materialist or a magician with the same delight.
And that’s just in the religious domain. So-called entertainment has broken down the barriers to the souls in a massive media onslaught, especially of our children.
We should be able to anticipate the next step in the relationship between a human being and his/her “Ascended” Master. The humans who think they are calling in beneficent spirits to do their bidding inevitably find themselves in bondage to the spirit being.
We make a grave mistake when we think of evil spirits only as frightening monsters who assault us against our will, like a psychopath in a Halloween movie. (I was going to include a graphic here but it was too creepy.) On the contrary, they are fascinating individuals whose real powers and false promises of enriching our lives draws us to willingly engage with them.
Jesse’s relationship with Walter White and Jesse is an excellent portrayal of this principle of mutual benefit and destruction, as is the ultimate bondage experienced by any short-sighted person who goes to a drug dealer, a loan shark, or a crime boss for a fix. They all will give you what you want in the short term, but it will definitely cost you sooner or later. The house always wins.
“And I will set thy bounds from the Red sea even unto the sea of the Philistines, and from the desert unto the river: for I will deliver the inhabitants of the land into your hand; and thou shalt drive them out before thee. Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods. They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.” (Exodus 23:31-33)
Believe it or not, there really are spirit beings interacting with humanity. In his famous prophesy precisely predicting future political events, Daniel’s angelic messenger clearly defines the true rulers of the world empires as spirit beings.
“In those days I Daniel was mourning [isolating and not eating] three full weeks [to separate from the physical domain to access the spiritual]. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled…Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude…Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia…and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come… ” (Dan 10:12-20)
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:11-13)
Clearly, despite the rise of humanism / atheism, spirit beings have had ample opportunity to gain a foothold in governments world-wide for direct involvement in world history. Their prime directive? Permanent war to wipe out humanity. They have had “boots on the ground”, hiding in plain sight, all along, accomplishing their will behind the scenes with their human allies. Consider how the CIA operates.
Psychiatric providers are able to obtain truth from patients who either don’t know the truth because they are psychotic, or are hiding the truth because they are psychopaths, by the lies that are either unwittingly or deliberately told. When compared with known truth, the lies tell a lot about the one who is untruthful, such as what is feared by someone who is paranoid, or what is desired by one who is grandiose. We can track the father of lies, Satan, and his grandiose plot to rule over gods and men throughout history in his mystery religions and political cabals by comparing his lies with the true history of the world, freely accessible to all who will receive it.
“Let no man deceive you by any means…that man of sin [is to] be revealed [from his previous hiding], the son of perdition [Seed of the Serpent, Antichrist]; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? For the mystery of iniquity doth already work…Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders.” (II Thessalonians 2:3-10)
Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful…Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth [last] kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.” (Daniel 7)
Historically we know the 4th empire is the Roman Empire, led by the Son of Satan. According to Daniel’s prophecy it continues until the Second Coming, so is still gobbling up empire and stomping down whatever it can’t bring in. This identifies the this exceeding dreadful, warmongering beast at any point in time in the last 2,000 years as whichever part of the Roman Empire controls the greatest amount of the world at that time. Take the British Empire for example.
Of course, controlling territory simply means controlling resources for making money. And whoever controls the money...
During WWII the British Empire lost much of its territory to another scion of the Roman Empire, the German-headed Axis powers.
The British Empire managed a desperate lonely stand-off against a Nazi takeover only through America’s Lend-Lease Act, but this impoverished England and cost its world-wide holdings. Its Gross Domestic Product (GDP), one measure of a nation’s wealth, plummeted while America’s skyrocketed.
So to which skyrocketing militarized nation who walked in at the last minute and cleaned up, including seizing Nazi rocket science to launch the Space Age, did the Nazi Cartel hand over its position as world power?
Daniel’s vision of the future contains far too much information to go into detail here and will be dealt with in a later post. At this time simply focus on how to interpret the beasts
